Has your class used Python before? Has your instructor gone over how to begin with this? Does your instructor have office hours or a way to contact them for assistance?

Hi Yichi, This is an interesting question. I wonder if you can do this by utilizing ArcGIS API for JavaScript. I do not think this would be an out-of-the-box function.

Howdy Tyler, From your Word doc, I do not even see a 14.1. I am guessing this is for a class and is due really soon? It might be easier for you to write out what you need in the forum box.

Hi Anja, These are some big questions. You may want to consider moving your post to a more appropriate place like Coordinate Reference Systems I am tagging Melita Kennedy on this since she would likely know how to best answer some of your questions.

Brad, Would it help if you posted more of your code for us to see? Maybe showing the 'in_table' variable (and more)?

Hi Malgorzata, Like Benjamin said, I too would like to know what your error message said and what steps you took to get there. Is your original data in a .las format?

Jugal, I think the Maplex label engine is really the only real option here (unless you mess around with having labels visible and not via JavaScript like you mentioned). So, therefore, it sounds like you will have to make this a custom map via ArcGIS API for JavaScript and go that route. But, it might not hurt trying what you can without custom programming, at least initially.

Hi Antonio, I am wondering if you need to make that feature point into a feature class first (export to a geodatabase or so), and then export that geodatabase feature class to a CAD file. Maybe try that?

Are you able to publish your service to ArcGIS Server? If so, then the labels should be able to carry over. As for really specific behavior, I'm not sure. I suppose you would just have to do some specific things and see what happens. Though, I do believe that they should carry over just fine. But, this won't work if you are not publishing the service as a Map Service to ArcGIS Server (for AGOL, that is)

Hi Joshua, I do this very frequently and will second what Dan has suggested. I normally use Select by Location and put in a 100 foot buffer on the line just to make sure I am grabbing every parcel that might be involved with this linework.

Hi Jugal, I agree with Benjamin. Take a look at the Maplex label settings and mess around with them until you get the results you want. Labels are rather finicky and will take a lot of toying around with in order to get the desired result. This resource might help if you are not familiar with Maplex: A quick tour of labeling with the Maplex Label Engine—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop

This makes sense. So it's safe to say that these 'ghosts' are just the moderators moderating? I am guessing there is no automatic migration that is making old threads get bumped?
