I had a similar situation where I needed to display up to 6 options for a single point.  The points in my case are poles in an electric distribution system. Doing it with symbols just was not going to work.  As each pole could be a regular pole or a riser pole and then have 5 different attachments I need to display. So instead I used symbol's as labels and labels. In the image below the brown circle with the black dot in the center is the pole itself.  the black dot tells me it is a riser. The Red Triangle is transformer is the other actual symbol.  So I symbolized off 2 unique values.  Riser yes or no, Transformer yes or no. This resulted in 4 symbols I needed to make. The other 5 objects are all labels. F is fuse L is Light M is Meter O is OCR R is Regulator Now there is no where in my system have all five labels on the same pole. You have to have a unique identifier in the polygon layer that is represented in the related table. Each record in the table has to have that unique identifier from the polygon layer. You need to be willing to work in any industry and move out of your home space. A lot of people I knew in GIS classes had great intentions of working for a Department of Natural Resources.  Myself included. But I got a job in E911 and then a job in Electric Utilities using GIS. Don't focus on an internship in being "THE WAY TO GO".  If an internship pops up great, if a regular job pops up so much the better. Though a lot of places may hire an intern.  That is a painless way to see if that person will work out. If not they can say thanks and have a good day. You should make bookmarks to ALL of the county agencies in your search area to their job postings.  Check them every Tuesday.  It is surprising how often entry level GIS jobs pop up.  Nothing is more valuable on your resume than actual work experience and showing that you can stick with a job. One of the biggest mistakes people make on a resume is making it a multipage autobiography of their life. Other than the cover sheet keep it to ONE page. You got me now. Sounds like your doing everything correct. Just a shot here. do the barriers have an enabled field.  If they are not part of the network it should not make any difference. Just straw grasping. Simple or complex network? I generally, well not generally, I always work in simple and not complex. Make a copy of your DB and remake the GM using a different one.  I work in Electricity so we have determinate sources which are the only ancillary roles active. Best guess would be that the barriers you are using are not snapped to the line. if the barrier feature happens to fall on a junction the trace should look at the junction first and may not consider your barrier.  The barrier feature should not be in the GN Make sure you check the option to Limit results to features stopping the trace. ... What is the source of data? A data source can have a projection but not be projected properly. One of my early tasks was converting from AutoCAD to ArcGIS.  The entire drawing was to scale but appeared on the equator. You may have to geo-reference your feature that is out of limits. However before you do that.  Start a new session.  Add one of the features. The add ESRI base map to the session and determine if the feature is in the correct location. Then do the same with the other. If one of them does not appear where it should it is the one that needs to be referenced.
