We are working on a Collector application where users will add attribute information in related tables. We are using a feature service (AGS 10.3) that is consumed by an ArcGIS Collector app in ArcGIS Online. We don't want the feature class to be editable (that contains the geometry), but we do want the related tables of that feature class to be editable. Is this possible?

Did you ever find a solution to ObjectID being the default unique ID for a feature compare? I'm using ArcGIS 10.2.2 and it still does this.

Creating a view of the table will work for my needs. We don't have ArcSDE....no license for it. Thanks.

I found a solution. I can create a view of the table in SQL Server. Then I export the view to the file geodatabase and it keeps the primary key field while adding an Object ID field. Yeah!

The primary key field name is "Interest_ID". I can't modify the fields of that table because of a .NET application that uses it. This application is the life blood of our organization, and we don't have a test environment. For now away, modifying the fields even to add a new field is not a risk I'm willing to take as it would break our contract with the company that developed the app. I've tried exporting the table from SQL Server to the file geodatabase using the geoprocessing tools but that removes the primary key. I am able to do a join within the mxd and keep the primary key field, but I'd prefer a more permanent solution. Ultimately, I'd like to set up this process in python to run each night so that the dataset is available to our staff....not just available through the map service.

ArcGIS 10.2.2. I'm trying to import a table from a SQL Server database (not a geodatabase) to a file geodatabase. In SQL Server, the table has a primary key that ArcGIS recognizes as an Object ID field. When I import the table into the file geodatabase, ArcGIS ignores the primary key and creates a new Object ID field. I need the primary key to stay with the table. How can I import a table from a non geodatabase into a geodatabase and still keep the primary key?

Have you tried creating a service definition file in ArcMap and then publishing the map service using the ArcGIS Server Manager (creating the map service by uploading the service definition file)?

brendwal, Update the code to keyAlias =?SelfSignedCertificate? which is the default certificate that comes with ArcGIS Server. Remember to stop and start the ArcGIS Server service after saving changes to this file. You don't have to lose services if you reinstall ArcGIS Server. Before you uninstall, copy the ..\arcgisserver config-store and directories folders. You can import them back in during the install process or install without them and then copy them over manually.

We are having this issue as well. We are using ArcGIS Server 10.2 with Web Tier authentication using Windows Authentication through the web adaptor. Map services are running. I can connect to the rest services site and see services through the GIS Server. I can connect to the rest services site through the web adaptor but no services are available. It seems the web adaptor is loosing connecting to the Active Directory. The ArcGIS Server services seems fine. We have tried, restarting IIS and restarting the ArcGIS Server services. Neither work. Right now, our users have to login to access services when they shouldn't have to (using single sign on).

Unfortunately, I never found why it started working again. But since that time, I have switched to using ArcGIS Server managed users and roles - instead of Windows users. I have also found that sometimes recreating an ArcGIS Server connection will fix weird problems. Not this particular problem...but others that I have experienced. Good luck!

I've had this happen before after importing a trusted certificate - that ArcGIS Server didn't like. crafty762 suggestion is close to what I did...but to a different file. 1. Navigate to the ArcGIS Server Tomcat directory on the server. Depending on where you install ArcGIS Server, it will be something like ....ArcGIS\Server\framework\runtime\tomcat\conf 2. Open the server.xml and scroll down to the bottom. 3. On the last line of code, you will see a keyAlias =?name of the certificate?. Since this one isn??t working, change the alias back the original ESRI selfsigned certificate (SelfSignedCertificate). Save file. 4. Stop and start the ArcGIS Server service.

Justin, No, we haven't been having DNS or network issues and no we are not using any client side caching. You're right. This may be a different issue, but it seemed closer than any other post I could find.

ToomasAas, Did you ever find a solution to this issue? I've had this happen four times on three different servers (ArcGIS Server 10.2). At some point, ArcGIS Server stops recognizing the active directory and only the Primary Site admin can log in. I've had this happen on a server with GIS tier authentication, SSL enabled and using a trusted certificate. I've also had it happen on a server without SSL enabled, no trusted cert and using WEB tier authentication. The one thing that was common across the servers is that ArcGIS Server was using Windows Domain for authentication. My solution...that sometimes works, is to remove the arcgis-logsettings.json.rlock file and reset the security configuration. If that doesn't work, I restart the ArcGIS Server Service. If that doesn't work, I restart the server. That one has always worked so far. I couldn't find anything in the ArcGIS Server logs or the server manager logs that indicates what had happened to cause this. I'd be happy to hear how you solved this issue.
