The issue is, the server I am trying to access is 3rd party, and the only allowed logins have a@domain.com requirement from the company. I am reaching out to the admin to see if I can get a login without @.

I've been trying to create a connection to an XML site that requires a user name and password. The URL structure I've been attempting is: https://user@domain.com:password@app.site.com/feeds/assets.xml//user@domain.com:password@app.site.com/feeds/assets.xml This URL has worked when I use it in a browser, but GeoEvent is having issues with it. Cs soon as it hits the first @ it reads the rest as the URL Error creating the URL: https://user@domain.com:password@app.site.com///user@domain.com:password@app.site.com/ Error: Stream handler unavailable due to: For input string: password@app.site.com/". I'm using ArcGIS Server 10.3 and GeoEvent 10.3

yeah, it turned out that it wanted the HTTP connection to the server, not the HTTPS one. It automatically switched to HTTPS once we federated though, so it's been all good since we made this change.

Is the data nested in a folder within the zip folder? If it is, it won't work. Portal requires that the various files that make up a shapefile be in the root of the .zip.

I've asked this several times of the staff i know at Esri involved with Server and Portal, and I've gotten the answer "it's coming", without a definitive date or release. it's not in the Pre-release for 10.3, so i have a feeling it's a going to be a while before we see anything on this front.

Sign in for "username" is no longer valid, please sign in. I can log in to my portal from a PC, and i can log in to my AGOL account from the phone. My Portal is set up for IWA.

Web adapters have to be the same version. i think you can install 10.1 web adapters on the same machine as a 10.2 web adapter as everything is contained to the IIS inetpub folder. I know you can have multiple web adapters of the same version on the same machine, I currently have 3 running at 10.2.2, one for Portal, On for Portal's ArcGIS Server, and a public facing ArcGIS Server.

On a machine with good connections to SDE browse to: C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Desktop10.2\ArcCatalog. You may have to unhide the folder: Show hidden files - Windows Help Copy anything with a .sde and paste it to the same folder on the new machine.

have you tryed to just ping the host server from command line on the pc and see if they can even contact the SQL server? in CMD.exe type ping <servername>

Yeah... I had to work with Technical Support on this one, long story short, Portal does not support custom templates from a GP Service. I have yet to figure out a work around.
