Using the Extract LAS GP tool to change the coordinate system of a las file, I noticed that the new las file has less point count than the original las file. I would like to have the new point cloud keep the same amount of points. Am I missing a setting somewhere or is this by design? ArcGIS Pro 3.0.2 Thanks!

In regards to shadow reduction or image touch-ups, you can batch process all shots before running them through your photo stitching program using Lightroom as @David_Brooks mentioned. I've done this on a number of projects with great success. Another photo editing program called Photo Studio from ACDSee will help with batch processing as well, but at a lower cost than Adobe. For the past month I've been testing the ACDSee program's Light EQ tool and using settings other drone mappers have been using and I'm impressed with the results! Of course the images should be fairly dialed-in through the camera settings for each flight, but out in the field and flying numerous jobs in a different location on a single day, nothing is perfect. If folks are interested, I can post those ACDSee Light EQ settings.

You might try bumping up your overlaps too. 85/75-80%. There's always diminishing returns when there's too much overlap, but with areas with a lot of visual variability (forested areas, varied terrain, etc...) it can help.

You might try selecting the Rolling Shutter Optimization option in the Edit Camera settings. You can also try in the Processing Options -> Initial, select the Use Geometry Verified Matching. Depending on what your project goal is, if a nice orthomosaic is required, running a NADIR lawnmower pattern can be the preferred method. If having a nice 3D product is the goal, then that is where the crosshatch flight comes in. If you haven't already, search crosshatch overlap on the DroneDeploy forum and there are quite a few discussions about what works best in various scenarios. Hope that helps.

Whelp, looks like it was Pro that was causing the issue. I went through and reinstalled D2M, removed some MS updates (which I don't think were causing the issues), and uninstalled ArcGIS Pro. Now D2M is working as it should. Thanks for helping out!

Nope. I am going to reinstall D2M this morning to see if that shakes anything up.

Drone2Map has been stalling out at 88% when running the first round of processing before I bring in ground control points for final processing. The processing log says Step 1. Initial Processing Finished, but the processing just hangs at 88%. Drone2Map is not freezing because I can still use the program. I have tried this with test images generated from SiteScan LE and DroneDeploy flight programs on a new iPad. What I have tried: Set logging to debug, but not finding any errors that stand out For 2D Products, I have unchecked everything except Dynamic Mosaic. Tried both Full and Rapid processing Ortho Mapping in ArcGIS Pro is able to generate imagery using the same images. Drone2Map is our workhorse and I've been pumping out imagery products all the time with no major issues until this week. Drone2Map 2.3.2, ArcGIS Pro 2.8.1, Phantom 4 Pro Thanks for any insight!

I am running into an interesting issue in which using assisted links in the Image Links Editor is not selecting all the images that can be linked to visible ground targets. Using D2M 2.3.1, creating a 2D Full project and keeping defaults on the processing options, I only run initial processing before manually creating control points. For testing purposes, I've created three manually added control points to identifiable features on the images (white home depot lid, a white rock, and an orange wheelbarrow). Using the Image Links Editor the Estimate Links tool captures an inconsistent number of images depending on the image feature. Targets: Circular white lid - Only links one image White rock - 10 images can be linked Orange wheelbarrow - 3 images Clicking on Show All Images, I can view images that were not linked that should have been captured by the Estimate Links tool. Yes, I can manually link photos in the Image Links Editor, and this is what I will do in the meantime, but I've never had this issue before in the previous D2M releases. Thanks for any help and insight.

Try changing the logging level to Debug and run the processing again. You can change the logging level in Drone2Map's general settings.

Here are two screen shots from Drone2Map's camera settings. The second image I attached shows the camera models in the program's internal camera database. I believe Drone2Map is built off of the Pix4D mapping engine. You may want to check out Pix4D support documents to see if they say anything about using the Mavic. There are discussions within the drone mapping community regarding the Mavic's rolling shutter camera causing mapping issues. It looks like the camera settings has the rolling shutter optimization option to fix the rolling shutter issue. Just more things to think about... https://doc.arcgis.com/en/drone2map/help/edit-camera.htm

When running multiple jobs for testing out different processing option settings, I create a project for each one, but reuse the image linked GCPs from the initial run. Select all GCPs from the first project and use the Export Control tool to create a ZIP file. This file can then be imported into new projects with the photo links already generated.

Thanks, Cody. One of my ongoing projects, I have GIS generated boundaries that I upload to the DroneDeploy desktop interface to be used as the project's flight boundary. Makes my process a little quicker than having to recreate those boundaries. For new projects, I am interested in seeing how Site Scan works our enterprise environment.

I just began using the latest Drone2Map and I am receiving an error at the end of initial processing in regards failing to create the mosaic dataset. Since the mosaic dataset is not created the Estimate Links is not enabled in the Image Links Editor. I am just running the initial step so I can use the Assisted Link feature using my imported GPS collected control points. From the D2M log: My GPS data is in WGS84 with vertical reference GEOID12. In previous Drone2Map releases, I just left everything default and things worked smoothly. Do I need to adjust anything now when importing control points from a feature class? Please let me know what additional information would help. Thank you

In future releases, will there be the ability to import flight boundaries (shapefile or KMZ)? Also, will there be a desktop version for flight planning? Thank you
