mohan nainar I'm having a similar issue with my basemap not showing up in my printout, but the rest of my layers do appear. Mine is not in WAB in this case, but is a JS web page. Just in case it is related or if there are common items, may be we can see a pattern Print GP service not printing cached basemap (AGS 10.5.1) BTW rscheitlin , I did try the "alwaysUseProxy":false as you recommended, but no change, and the proxy is working for display of all tiled and dynamic the services. The print GP tool is not throwing any errors and seems to be working for all except the tiled basemap. I have tested some addition things and will include them on my thread I link to above. In my case, I think this is a bug with the basemap tiled service in 10.5.1 ....maybe it doesn't like the v2 compact format of 10.5.1? The 10.2.2 basemap uses the v1 compact version.

Shooting from the hip here, since I did not create our self-signed cert, and we are working with ArcGIS Server, non-federated....however, we were having issues with our proxy and secured services on our strictly in-house machine. Came down to the self signed cert. My IT guy said something about it not liking the .domain.local part of the cert. Out IIS is setup to be https://gisdev105 without needing the .domain.local when we can the web pages. The original cert I think included the .domain.local From what I understand, he creted a new self-signed cert to match the gisdev105 portion only. So our proxy now works with our secure/non-secure services (just not totally with our custom print service...but that is another thread).

New setup: ArcGIS Server 10.5.1 (non-federated) Basemaps are non-secure cached services (JPEG) using the v2 of the compact cache format "operational" layers are dynamic, (tried adding a cached layer just to test but it didn't like that) I have a proxy in place, and it is working for the web site and for accessing my secure services All layers are in Alaska Albers, so reproject is not involved. All layers show on my JS web page as expected. I set up the 10.5.1 print GP service following instructions found https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/server/10.5/get-started/windows/tutorial-publishing-additional-services-for-printing.htm and the print service itself seems to be working. (currently set to sync, received AGS log error if async, even though I am not using Portal or Pro) I think I have everything setup the same way as I do on my 10.2.2 AGS server. -The 10.2.2 server prints the base map with no issues. -The 10.5.1 server prints all except the based map. I have seen several threads about basemap not printing in Flex app, but this is JS. The other thread I have reviewed is Cached basemap not fully loading in layout view but there was no answer int hat thread yet. BTW - I am currently working with JS v3.10, which I know is old, but does work with every thing else so far, except maybe printing basemaps in 10.5.1. I haven't taken the time to update my JS to a newer version....that may take some work since the html format messes up...and I'm short on time. I have not yet played with things in the JS sandbox online since our 10.5.1 servers are still inside the firewall. I think we have all the patches that may effect this install (the GP one). I see there is a Basemap patch for Portal, but again, this is ArcGIS Server, non-federated, so I do not think that applies. For the record, below is the result of "check for updates" Any help is appreciated. Thanks -------------------------------- EDIT: some additional testing, which leads me to think this is a bug. Above is based on: AGS 10.5.1 custom GP Print service AGS 10.5.1 tiled map service in 10.5.1 compact format (v2) a working proxy If I switch out #1 above with the the working GP Print service from 10.2.2 ... does not work If I switch out #1 and the #2 for the same on 10.2.2 ...does not work if I leave #1 as 10.5.1 and switch out #2 with the map service from 10.2.2...IT WORKs So, I think is it an issue with the cached map serivces in 10.5.1 (I tried more than one cached map service). I am not sure if it is the cached map service in general of or the v2 compact format. I will put in a tech support ticket and report back....but if anyone else has run into this issue and/or found a solution, I would appreciate the info. Thanks

Levi Roberts Did you ever find a solution for this? I just upgraded from 10.2.2 to 10.5.1, and my raster/cached basemap is not showing on the printout, but is on the web map itself. My services use a custom, but same spatial reference/projection for basemap and layers. I'm still researching to make sure all else is setup, but wondering if this is a bug or other issue. I am not getting and error on ArcGIS Server, and nothing shows up in the developer tools. The map is created, just without the basemap. edit: btw - I will open another thread too, but thought I'd ask here first.

You may want to check out /blogs/myAlaskaGIS/2015/08/31/python-addin-for-data-inventory-and-broken-link-repair?sr=search&searchId=f81c6a86-3fe7-4b3c-beeb-58fe19e0c374&searchIndex=0 Even if you don't use it to make the repairs, it will help you get a handle on thethings you might need to check. It's an addin for Desktop, but if you are using pro or installing the addin isn't an option...or you just want to check out the scripts, the .addin file is just a .zip. you can extract and view or play with the code.

I can mention a couple quick thoughts...(may add more later). FYI - I have been the maintainer of our licenses for 33+ years (from back in the ArcInfo Workstation 3.0 days thru all the Enterprise stuff). - if you do not maintain it and decide that in 3 or 4 years you want to upgrade, you basically have to pay all the back maintenace and sometimes are better off just buying a new license. - no "included" tech support (I think you can purchase per incident support)....although geonet is here - any ArcGIS Online (not sure about Portal) named users that are ties to the Enterprise/Server license will go away. fwiw

And if you don't plan to federate, similar. Upgrade Server to 10.6. You will have to uninstall and reinstall the web adaptor I believe. Then you can install and setup Portal and the web adaptor. Federation is not mandatory (we have not done it)

Excellent. That was what was looking for and didn't think about looking for it in the Toolbox. I still have a lot to learn on what all mosaics can do. re: the rest of the thread, I don't remember exactly where I left it either, so I'll read thru it again and follow up with a summarized list of questions, if still needed. I remember there was a lot discussed above, and then I was out for a while...so my brain flushed it all.

Hi CBenkelman-esristaff , I'm working on our upgrade to 10.5.1 now, and I'm looking to just copy and past the mosaic databases I created on our test/dev server to our production. I'm not sure if you ever finished a final reply to the above or not, but assuming I have most things set up ok, I want to make sure that I am grabbing the source data from the new remote server (storing the source) and not the local server. So these may be easy questions, how can I find out the source path of each of the images I loaded? Or once overviews are created, doesn't it matter? I've tried to Identify, look at the attributes and look at the mosaic metadata. The copied mosaic geodatabases seem to view just fine, but I can't find the path to make sure they are pulling from the correct source server.

to add to that, you may want to check out some of the tech session videos available Esri Events - YouTube You may have to look thru the list to find one that seems appropriate for the python toolboxes

My suggestion was going a different route, and not having a Python Toolbox but a Python addin using a regular custom Toolbox. That is, create a new toolbox, then create your tool using the script. Then setup the parameters. Then use the wizard to create you addin and toolbar with buttons. The toolbar will not work in Pro however...but the toolbox would (assuming the syntax works in the python 3.x). So, mine wasn't an actual answer to your issue (I haven't created any Python Toolboxes), but an alternative. Sorry, I didn't want to confuse the issue, just offer an option.

Another option is to make a python addin using the wizard, although this will not work with ArcPro, so maybe you need to go the route you are going. just some tipes I have (the name is a bit off, but I do have tips Tip: Python Addins - getting custom tools/toolbox to work - GPToolDialog error and other tips (9/7/2017) and there is anothr recent thread about addin deployment https://community.esri.com/message/757778-python-add-in-deployment fwiw

..and something to always try, do it manually then copy the python snippet from the Results window to make sure you get the syntax correct.

I have a GIS Admin group that i need to be mapped as dbo (emphasis added) This may not be the case, but it seems years ago that using groups to assign privileges for SDE didn't work. This may be different know (many SQL and ArcGIS versions later) and may have been different circumstances. Just throwing that out there for something to investigate if nothing else works.
