Ulises, It looks like python automatically casts numeric field values as strings, so you would need to change your expression to if [CATEGORIA] == "0": or if int([CATEGORIA]) == 0:

Greeting Ulises! It is most likely that the values in [CATEGORIA] are not what you are expecting them to be in python. If the field is not numeric, it will never evaluate to 0, but a text value of "0". It may be a Null value and again it would not evaluate to be 0. Your logic looks sound, please check the values and make sure it is the right field type. Regards, Tom

Jonathan, You can easily add a new field with numeric field type. Then just calculate the value of the field from the existing field. Then you should be able to summarize it. This can all be done using ArcCatalog and the toolbox. Regards, Tom

Here is the latest update of the Measure Widget developed from the FlexViewer Draw Widget. It shows interactive segment measurements as you are drawing them. This is some functionality that was required by our planning department as they needed to show distances as they measured them and not after the drawing was complete.

Thanks Jay! I did give that a try. It did not leave an orphaned process, but ArcMap did crash when exiting. While in my project, I did some editing, switching between the layout view and data view, open some layer tables and exported a PDF. I tried again doing even less and it still crashes, but does not leave an orphaned process. I have seldom exited using File>Exit to exit ArcMap. I almost always use the X. Best Regards, Tom

The orphaned process also appears to lock any datasets that are being used too. I tried reopening an MXD and adding a field to a feature class and got an error message stating that the resource was in use by another process.

Anybody having any issues with ArcMap leaving an orphaned process running? Every time I run ArcMap 10.3 and exit the application it leaves behind an orphaned process. It doesn't appear to be using any CPU, but depending on the MXD, it retains the memory it was using. This does not happen with ArcCatalog. I am using ArcMap 10.3 on a Windows 7 Pro with service pack 1 and also on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise.

Jim, I am actually using the Dark Gray basemap in my public safety desktop apps for a night mode view. This works especially well for the mobile version of the map. The topo map can be blinding to our fire and police officers when the map is being used at night as it is so bright. It would be excellent if the larger scales were added so they could zoom in farther when using the Dark Gray basemap. I have included a screenshot of the app.

Hellen, Yes! You should download and install the 2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components. ArcGIS must need this specific version of the driver to be able to read xlsx files. Having a more recent version like Office 2013 would seem like it would have all of the previous drivers/components, but it doesn't. Click on the link shown above to get to the right driver. I was missing the 2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components. You can find them here: Download 2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components from Official Microsoft Download Center After loading the connectivity components the add data works correctly. I had a later version of Office on my pc, but still needed to install these components.
