You can make an XY event layer from the XY table in ArcMap, which is sort of like a temporary feature class. Then a spatial join between the points and the polygons should enable you to calculate the attributes from one to the other.

Sorry Peter, What do you mean "doesn't recognize the newly added". Has the AddField worked or not? What error do you get if you access the field?

To underline what Dan said, are you sure your sampling points are in the same coordinates system as the mosaic? Don't look in ArcMap. Use Catalog and check the data properties.

You do not "change projection" of a dataset by just resetting the properties of the dataset. So change it back. To permanently change the dataset coord sys, you have to re-project to another coord sys. But as Dan said, when publishing a service, its just the data frame coord sys properties that need to be set to Web Mercator, all the rest will be re-projected on-the-fly.

If you can do that using fme, you are better than I am at calculating dx,dy.dz using that interface. Would love to see it when done. But what is the spacing downhole of the survey? Is it really that sparse? After all, the interpolated 1ft values are rather imaginary anyway.

Ryan, do you have access to the original downhole survey data. This will be undoubtably more sparse than the interpolated curve fitting XYZ's you have now. Could regenerate the drill trace using the survey dip, azimuth, depth.

Probably because the area of the buffered circle in ArcMap is not really a circle, but an "NGon", something that looks pretty much like a circle, but is in fact a bunch of vertices going around the edge. All those tiny little arcs along the edge, add up to your difference.

And what user are you on that remote machine? Have you tried re-setting that users arc profile / map template. Have any 3rd party extension been loaded? Do you still have office on that machine? Anything that you might think has changed to cause this new behavior?

Well scale is relative . Is this layout going straight to paper at a fixed size? If its not, then the scalebar is all you need. I thought it wasn't, because you were out putting an image for dropping into a report or something. My laptop screen has enough resolution to look fine in powerpoint or a word doc. Just quicker that way.
