I tried changing to kilometers and meters here: JS Bin - Collaborative JavaScript Debugging and the scalebar output changes. Have you ran your app in debug mode perhaps in the Dev tools in Google Chrome?

I have an open source tool called FlashDevelop, but that's it. I can just open files, but built a basic Esri map using it before. Will that work? I have an engagement to make it to, but will follow up as soon as I can in the morning.

I am unfamiliar with development in Flex but familiar with XML. Where is the GeocoderSkin.mxmls file so I can update the code?

I want to limit the number of characters a Flex application allows to enter into the Geocode an address box. How would I do that? I would like for a box that looks like this to limit entry of characters to 110: Geocode an address—ArcGIS API for Flex | ArcGIS for Developers - I would like for a box like

The element that you need to change is search input, so if you want to change the maxLength to say 50, you would include the following in your javaScript: document.getElementById("search_input").maxLength = 50; Here is a sample page with the app doing just that: JS Bin - Collaborative JavaScript Debugging

I agree with Owen, but you should put your require statements that do not have parameters last as this will put your required elements and your parameters out of order.

A few things that I can recommend is: Did you include your proxy.ashx, proxy.config and proxy.xsd files when you copied the application over to the new server? Did you update your web.config file for the new URL? Did you convert the website into an application in IIS? Apart from that I would check the other settings in the new server in IIS to the old server IIS settings and check rights.

Here is some feedback on jQuery - ArcGIS Idea - jQuery based ArcGIS JavaScript APIs . I don't know if the same issues apply with AngluarJs but you could add it as an idea if you think it has advantages over dojo, but I think Esri may feel that they have invested too much time in Dojo to start building on top of another JavaScript Framework; but that's just my opinion.
