The problem is the line where you define your dataframe. It should be df=arcpy.mapping.ListDataFrames(MXD, "Layers")[0] instead of df = (mxd, "PLSS_u1483")[0].

Attached is a page with two data frames. The top frame is the raster catalog. The bottom frame is the individually added .sid files.

Thanks Ken. We are using SQL 2009 for our DB. So I can get the date from arcpy.ArcSDESQLExecute()?

We just moved to SDE and I made raster catalogs (unmanaged) for five years of aerials. The aerials look fine when I bring them into a map individually but when I bring in the catalog, the colors look like an oil slick. Anyone know why the catalogs have made my rasters all double rainbow?

Since I am undecided, Ill cast my vote for no split. I wanted rigorous tagging implimented but if that isnt viable from a development stand point I suppose I will just deal with it. I like having one GP forum for the same reason I use an RSS reader. It saves time for me. I would be reading the same number of posts but would havet to navigate to three forums to read them.

Well R.D. are you then in favor of a forum split into Scripting and MB? Scripting could be also named Python to remove any confusion with Objects. Frankly if you are going deep enough into this stuff that you have decided to learn Objects, you probably can find the Objects forum that already exists on your own. We dont see many Objects questions in the general GP forum so I think its fair to assume those people know what to look for in that regard. Having a Python forum though would pull some of the Map Auto people into the Python forum, but there was a bit of an overlap there anyways. I think there is a consensus that general GP without mandating tagging is confusing but splitting without maintaining a general forum of some sort will dissuade the uninitiated.

At 9.3.1 is there a way to get the date a feature class was last modified on a SDE? We have a branch office that cant see our SDE and keep what little data they use on a server at their office in shape files. I want to write a script that would store the feature classes in a dictionary as 'name':'date' and keep the dictionary in a pickle. I would open the pickle in the script, compare the dates to the dates on the SDE and export the feature classes that have been updated to shape to FTP over to the other office. If its not possible at 9.3.1 is it possible at 10? IT has promised us 10 once 10sp1 comes out so I can keep doing the exports by hand till then and automate it after that.

To end a loop prematurly is 'break'. Thankfully in v10 we can do away with the while row: thing and go to for row in cursor: I dislike having to manually advance the cursor like that.
scursor=gp.SearchCursor(Clip_Feature)
row=scursor.Next()
while row:
if row.GetValue("Region") == 'Murray Inland':
for ext in [".shp",".shx",".sbn",".dbf",".prj",".sbx"]:
os.remove("C:\\Temp\\Contour"+ext)
break
row=scursor.Next()
del scursor
