I was told that Flex support would end at the end of 2016. I figured that would give us all 2 years to convert and migrate, etc. I think the JS/HTML5 needed to evolve and mature as well. At this point if forced to change we would be looking at a new application with half the functionality and half the aesthetics. I really wish we could get a straight answer. Aaron Kreag, GISP

According to the tech guy I spoke with a few months ago on the GeoData team he said that the engineers are aware of the problem and that it's getting looked at.... That said there is some chatter about the bypassing the default spatial indexing and building new indexes as something that improves the performance. have not had a chance to test it. I solved this problem by actually just copying the esearch widget and then renaming it. So one would be well search tool and one would be mineral lease search tool. You may want to also look at what ones are set to open automatically at start. Aaron Sent via the Samsung Galaxy Note® 3, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone

Right. I have a Flex builder locally installed on my server. Is there a JS/html5 builder that will run locally, internally? It looks like it's all some kind of hosted ESRI SAS or ArcOnline thing. I am looking for a JS/html5 builder that I can download and install on my desktop or server. Is there not one? Aaron Sent via the Samsung Galaxy Note® 3, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone

Brian, I am reading this thread and all I can think of is that you need a vacation. That said....just so I am correct. I have the Flex 3.6 builder and some decent maps running. We do NOT have a JS/HTML5 builder that installs on my web server and can be used to push some maps that can then be customized like in the Flex world. Is that right? Thus far, after looking at all this stuff online it looks like I am being forced to live in the ESRI ArcOnline world....where I do NOT want to live.

This patch would make sense but we are using 10.2.2. My assumption is that ESRI included that patch in the new release. That said I did talk with some guys at ESRI the other day about an unrelated issue. The conversation did go to this issue and I was informed that their sql/sde engineers are aware of and have documented more than a couple issues, one of which is listed here and that they are working on trying to find the source of the problem. Robert- I was wondering if you may have seen this behavior and have a recommendation. In my 3.6 version flex map I have a normal popup configured. I am also using your esearch widget. When doing a search, we get a successful search result. If a user clicks a row in the table a popup will appear in the selected polygon. This is cool and the way it should be. However, if the user then does a mouse click in the same polygon and you have a popup configured for that layer you actually get 'two" pop ups. Its the same window but at the top it says 1of2 or 2of2. The first one is the popup from esearch and the second is the popup from the normal popup widget. We have seen this behavior if there are two rows of data with the same ID and confirmed that is not the issue. Is there a way to basically make the esearch popup go away if a user clicks in the polygon and they get the normal popup? I will attach a couple pics.

Zach Rebuilding spatial index or attribute indexes? According to Microsoft and ESRI Sql2012 natively does the spatial index. Are you overwriting it? Aaron Sent via the Samsung Galaxy Note® 3, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone

Becky, YES! This is the exact same behavior we had…. We actually created two different SQL servers and ran one in Geometry and one in SDE Binary and the difference is night and day. We use the SDE Binary for editing and then replicate up using a python script to the other sql server running geometry data type for our web map application. The version of SQL server does not matter. 10.2.2. does not like Geometry data type when editing. ESRI needs to get on the ball. Aaron

I am getting reports of the same behavior. However most of mine seemed to correlate to the push of an updated map. I have heard that clearing the history and doing a CNTL F5 was not working but that manually cleaning out the Temp folder of the user would do the trick...dunno. Still testing and looking for the issue.
