I am using a ArcPy tool update some feature in ArcGIS desktop, also generating a log file to update some of the tasks, the script running fine in the desktop. When publishing it as a service to call the same from ArcGIS server, the log file is not created in the given path, but the process was completed successfully and the results are updated. What would be the correct way for creating a log file(or any other file) from a geoprocessing service?

Hi Adrain, Reprojecting LAS Dataset using Transformation tools is not possible. And there is no other tools that I found out for the reprojection of LAS files also. If there is any way to reproject las files or lasd file it would make the process simple.

Hi guys, I am having a set of LAZ files downloaded from a Government website, converted them into LAS using 3D Sample tools (https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=fe221371b77940749ff96e90f2de3d10) and tried to load it into ArcGIS pro by creating a LAS Dataset. I used the UTM projection of the region(Rotterdam, Netherlands). When I am adding the Las Dataset into the Scene I am getting it near by Africa instead of Europe. I couldn't able to find out the problem, the problem is with projection I used the projection tools given in the 3D Sample tolls but nothing changed the result. When I didn't give any coordinate system the data is coming in North America. Kindly help me to narrow down the issue and what other tools can be tested with the data?

Basemap of ArcGIS has been changed and upgraded a lot within last year. But the thumbnail of the basemaps, in the Add data icon is not representing it very well. The thumbnail require some serious upgradation, atleast in ArcGIS Pro.

I tried enclose multipatch which created the enclosed multipatch feature class. But that is not creating result from intersect 3D tool. I think that the method of closing the polygons is not working or I have to use another tool. Any advises?

I don't want to close them. But if there were any chances to close them and able to run a "intersect 3d" tool, I like to use it.

I am working with a 3D GIS project which involves many multi-patch feature classes which are mostly Building Models created in various environments and then imported into ArcGIS.So, most of them are "open multi-patch" features. The goal is to create cross section of those features either as a multi-patch layer or just for visualizing purpose. I tried "Intersect 3D" tool of 3D Analyst but it requires it to be a closed multipatch layer, but its not. Is there any possible methods to create or visualize the cross section of those images in ArcGIS or ArcGIS Pro?

Dear Jermy, The problem has been cleared after upgrading my system specs. I really hope that, even the recommended specs for ArcGIS Pro is not enough in heavy tasks.

Hi Friends!!! I am currently working with ArcGIS pro on a Landuse map, which have different parcels of various zones. I need to create vertical zoning for that layer for representing underground features. I extruded the layer for the value -30 m, so it represents underground. Now I want to add different colours (symbology) to every 10m below the ground. So we can illustrate different underground zones like Water network, Transport, Sewage, etc., Please help me to add symbology vertically so I can add different zones underground..... Regards Arun

Hi Friends, This is the method I done to solve this issue, I exported the line into Points base on vertices using "Feature Vertices to Points" tool and then calculated the "Z value" of each points based on their Gradient. I know it is hectic. Then I manually entered those Z values into the each verices using "Edit verices" option. This is the solution I found, It is long and impossible for large Quantiity of features, but for small region It will get the job done. Please let me know if, there is any simpler solutions...
