nasa.png Virginia Tech and Old Dominion University, with support from the NASA Earth Science Data Systems Program, invite data practitioners involved in coastal zone management, flood risk management, or tackling sea-level rise and subsidence issues to participate in an exciting opportunity to enhance awareness, accessibility, and utilization of NASA Earth science data for coastal applications. Introducing UNBOUND CI [qrco.de]: a multi-session workshop to identify recommendations to make NASA data products more discoverable and suitable for analyses to address issues in coastal zones, encompassing both coastal and inland areas. The workshop series aims to engage coastal issues for data practitioners who are not currently using NASA data products or would like to increase the use of NASA data for coastal applications. Participants are expected to test NASA Earth data and develop a series of practical recommendations to improve NASA Earth Science Data Systems. See previous UNBOUND reports HERE [earthdata.nasa.gov]. Workshop Details Dates: September 18, 19, 25, 26 Time: 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM EST Application Deadline: August 31, 2023 LEARN MORE [qrco.de] APPLY NOW [docs.google.com] Stipends and CEC Available: Twelve individual participants (only one per organization) selected will receive $1,200 each. Additional interested participants (not receiving a stipend) will be notified of selection to participate based on selection criteria and number of applications. Continuing education credits are available for APA, GISP, and CFPM certifications for all participants. To be eligible to receive a stipend, the applicant must be associated with a U.S.-based organization or institution. Priority for a stipend will be given to applicants working in Environmental Justice communities, as defined by the EPA [epa.gov] via EJScreen [epa.gov]. Roles and Responsibilities: Each paid participant is expected to actively contribute to discussions, test assigned NASA Earth Data, and develop individual responses that will go into a final report. Workshop Themes Include: NASA Data for Coastal Management - Foundational topics from NASA's Data Pathfinders such as Working with Multidimensional Data in GIS and Using NASA Data in GIS Programs will be covered. NASA Data for Sea Level Rise - NASA Data Pathfinders offers a range of relevant topics for the workshop theme, focusing on sea level rise analysis. NASA Data for Flood Risk Management - Participants will engage with topics including flood inundation, precipitation, and runoff alongside data to support flood risk management. Human Dimensions for Coastal Zones - Discussions will focus on NASA datasets that can be used to address community needs and the usability of NASA data for participants and communities. Please share this opportunity among your network. If you are interested in participating, learn more online [qrco.de] or complete the application form [docs.google.com]. Contact Wendy Stout ([email protected]) or George McLeod ([email protected]) with any questions. The workshop series is a collaborative effort between NASA Earth Science Data Systems [earthdata.nasa.gov], Virginia Seafood Agricultural Research and Extension Center [arec.vaes.vt.edu], Center for Coastal Studies at Virginia Tech [coastal.fralinlifesci.vt.edu], and GeoSEA - Old Dominion University [ww1.odu.edu]. @WendyStout @GeorgeMcLeod nasa1.png

I would review the following docs: https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/get-started/latest/windows/considerations-for-upgrades-to-11-0-and-later.htm https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/get-started/latest/windows/upgrade-arcgis-enterprise.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_C76053230B1F4D969FC1380CEBB23929 I think that these are a good starting point.

Did you create a user that is mapped to database owner for the one that you used the Enable tool on? Add or create a login that is mapped to a database user named sde or to a database user that is the database owner. I do know that you cannot have the SDE user mapped to a schema that does not match in SQL Server. I am wondering if the mapping is the issue. Did you give that user the db_owner pemission on the database? Your question makes sense to me seeing that you mentioned you are familiar with Oracle.

It does not look like you could have an "SDE" user have different PW on the same instance. At least from the Esri perspective. It looks like if you have an SDE schema Enterprise Geodatabase (EGDB) then you have to have an SDE user. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/data-management/create-enterprise-geodatabase.htm https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/geodatabases/manage-sql-server/setup-geodatabase-sqlserver.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_0CB5A7EBA7EB4F69AA7180F0FA84779E @MarceloMarques - any thoughts?

Not a 3D expert. Can you provide some more information? What version of ArcGIS Pro? What is the file type that you are importing? What tool is being used for the importing? How large is the file? What do the machine resources look like when importing? RAM total / utilization? CPU? Those are some questions which may lead to better responses.

If I understand your question correctly, using Aurora would NOT replace your ArcGIS Datastore machine in the Enterprise deployment. The ArcGIS Datastore is an ArcGIS Managed datastore. Aurora is a user-managed datastore. If you are wanting to use hosted services then you need to use the datastore. If you need advanced geodatabase functionality and features then you would need to use an Enterprise Geodatabase (in this case on Aurora) and register it with your ArcGIS Enterprise site. You can use both in your deployment based on the need of the data and your workflows. Here is a great white paper that discusses this: https://www.esri.com/content/dam/esrisites/en-us/media/technical-papers/data-in-arcgis-user-managed-and-arcgis-managed.pdf Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

You may have to enable export data at the ArcGIS Server service level in Manager under Feature Service; https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/server/latest/publish-services/windows/edit-map-service-settings.htm

You will need some sort of ArcGIS client, like ArcGIS Pro, to see the data. Those file are part of a file geodatabase. Do NOT delete / rename those files or thing will break.

if you know the names of the versions, you could use the Delete Versions tool and pass the names to remove. That would help you get to the full compress.

I just checked mine and do not have any of the DB role memberships checked. Do you happen to have the SDE user in the "SYSADMIN" fixed server role? (at the instance login level) George_Thompson_0-1687888388399.png

I would remove the db_owner role from the SDE user on that specific geodatabase and re-test. I think that permission is only needed to upgrade the enterprise geodatabase: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/geodatabases/manage-sql-server/privileges-sqlserver.htm
