I would also check to see if SSMS can access the SQL instance / DB when you have the connection issue in Pro from the same machine. This may help narrow down the issue. I would also note that we usually recommend that accessing a cloud database from a "local" workstation may have a sub-optimal user experience. We recommend that the ArcGIS Pro client is in the same "location" as the Enterprise Geodatabase (i.e., same local network (building) or same cloud provider / region). Here is some doc that mentions this: https://doc.esri.com/en/arcgis-enterprise-cloud-tools/latest/azure/database-requirements-azure-sql-database.html#D8D Here is the AWS doc also (for reference): https://doc.esri.com/en/arcgis-enterprise-cloud-tools/latest/amazon/geodatabases-and-arcgis-server-on-aws.html Hope this helps!

This is due to the requirement that the username / schema name match in ArcGIS. "Users who own data must also have schemas in the database that have the same name as the username." https://doc.esri.com/en/arcgis-pro/latest/help/data/geodatabases/manage-sql-server/user-accounts-groups.html Also review this doc: https://doc.esri.com/en/arcgis-pro/latest/help/data/geodatabases/manage-sql-server/add-users-sqlserver.html#754 I would not usually recommend that an AD group be granted db_owner as they can make changes to the database that could cause negative impacts. That is like "admin" privileges to everything.

Try the append tool: https://doc.esri.com/en/arcgis-pro/latest/tool-reference/data-management/append.html?tabs=dialog This is what I would use.

Glad that helped! I have found that Pro caches the data from the version in the map for better user experience. I also encounter this in branch versioned workflows.

When you have the layer in the Pro map, have you tried the "Refresh Version" in the Versioning tab: https://doc.esri.com/en/arcgis-pro/latest/help/data/geodatabases/overview/versioning-tab.html#970?

I would recommend contacting Esri Technical Support to have them start investigating this. This would be the quickest way to get to a resolution. That is weird behavior.

For Problem 1: Since you have traditional versioning implemented, have done some of the recommended maintenance on the versioned data; https://doc.esri.com/en/arcgis-pro/latest/help/data/geodatabases/overview/recommended-version-administration-workflow.html? Mainly focused on the compression operation in this workflow. How many versions do you currently have? How many records are in the delta tables; https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-enterprise-documents/check-delta-counts-for-enterprise-geodatabase/ta-p/1559800? Problem 2: Is there a reason that you enabled archiving? As you mentioned in Problem #2, it is working as expected. I would run the admin related tasks and re-test. Having lots of unreconciled / uncompressed records can cause the behavior that you are seeing in Problem 1.

You may want to look at the following tools to see if they report any issues: https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/tools/data-management-toolbox/diagnose-version-metadata.htm https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/tools/data-management-toolbox/diagnose-version-tables.htm These tools must be run as the Geodatabase Administrator (i.e., SDE user). If you find an issue, you can run the repair tools, as appropriate. ALWAYS create a full and VERIFIED backup before running the repair tools listed above. I also would like to mention that ArcMap is retired as of March 1, 2026, so the support for this may be limited. I would recommend looking into moving to ArcGIS Pro (supported version) in the near future.

@Rakesh2810 I would recommend contacting Esri technical support to get help quickly. This post is an "idea" thread and not designed to get assistance from the community. If the VM information (RAM / etc.) changed, you may need to recreate the license.

In these instances, I highly recommend reaching out to Technical Support to investigate further. They may be able to help understand and diagnosis any issues with ArcGIS Online.
