Hi Pranavi, I think that we will need a little more information in order to help. I assume that you are using Oracle, correct? If so, what version of Oracle. Could you copy/paste the last information from the sde_setup.log into the post? Make sure you followed the directions for multiple geodatabases in Oracle. -Did you close the ArcCatalog client and then try the Create Enterprise Geodatabase GP tool again? Look forward to your responses. -George Geodatabase Enterprise GIS

Hi David, You would just delete the database in SQL Server Management Studio. There is no "out of the box" tool to delete enterprise geodatabases. -George Geodatabase Enterprise GIS

Hi Kentucky DGI and David, I wanted to clarify that SQL Server Geometry storage became the DEFAULT stating at the 10.1 release and not at 10.3. When you create a new geodatabase in SQL Server or upgrade an existing geodatabase, the default geometry storage type used for new feature classes is SQL Server geometry. Therefore, all newly created feature classes can be accessed through SQL. If you do not want new feature classes to use SQL Server geometry storage by default, you can use the sdedbtune ArcSDE administration command to change the GEOMETRY_STORAGE setting under the DEFAULTS keyword in the SDE_dbtune table. You can install the ArcSDE administration commands using the ArcSDE Application Server for SQL Server installation wizard. This is from the What's New for Geodatabases at 10.1, under the section: Default geometry storage type changed Hope this clarifies when the DEFAULT geometry storage type for SQL Server changed. -George

Hi Paul, Does the Oracle database have any of the Oracle Security Patches (OCT14, JAN15 or APRIL15) installed? If so, you may be need to install the following patch and retest: ArcGIS 'Oracle Critical Patch Update - October 2014' Connection Issue Patch | Samples and Utilities If you have the rights, you could just install the patch and retest. -George Geodatabase Enterprise GIS

Hi Russel, You need to install the Oracle 64-bit client on the ArcGIS server machine. If you have more than 1 ArcGIS Server in a cluster, the client needs to be installed on each of the server machines. Register an Oracle database with ArcGIS for Server: ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2) Once the client is installed on the machine, be sure to restart the ArcGIS Server service. After the re-start you should be able to import the same connection file from the Desktop client and register your Oracle database. Let me know if you have any issues. -George Geodatabase Managing Data

Sandip, Here is the link to the patch for the ArcGIS clients: ArcGIS 'Oracle Critical Patch Update - October 2014' Connection Issue Patch | Samples and Utilities It will need to be installed on any ArcGIS client that is connecting to that Oracle database (or any other Oracle database) that have installed the Oracle Security patches. This also applies to non-geodatabases (no SDE repository tables). As a side note: There is not patch for the ArcGIS 10.2 client. Hope this help! -George Geodatabase Managing Data

Hi Naime, I guess that it might be a fluke that you can connect to your SDE 9.1. But I would not expect it to work properly (i.e. create data, preview data, modify existing data, etc....) As Tech Support suggested, you would need to upgrade your SDE to at least 10.0. Support for 9.1 was ended almost 5 years ago... (June 2010 - http://downloads.esri.com/support/product%20life%20cycle/arcgis_desktop/ArcGIS_PLC.pdf)) Technically support for 9.3 ended in Dec. 2013 (over a year and half ago) I would not expect there to be a "workaround" that would available for that old of a geodatabase. Hope this helps...... -George

Hi Manishkumar, You could use an ArcGIS 10.0 SP5 Desktop client to make a connection to your 9.2 geodatabase, then upgrade to 10.0 SP5 (recommended) and then use a 10.2.x client to see the data in the upgraded geodatabase. Direct-connect compatibility between clients and ArcSDE geodatabases in Oracle If the underlying DBMS is Oracle 10g, an Oracle 10g client must be used for the connection. Geodatabase connections in ArcGIS Desktop (For Oracle) Hope this helps clarify how to get it up to geodatabase that a 10.2.x client can use. -George
