Hi Ryan, I think that is expected behavior since the Enterprise Geodatabase (EGDB) connection is "severed". Each connection has an assigned process ID that is specific to that session. The benefit of the fail-over option is that when the primary goes into a failed state you can reconnect (restart the session) and keep working on the backup EGDB. Now ArcGIS for Server will automatically fail-over when the connection is dead. This is because the service will continue to check for a connection once lost, if no connection can be made to the primary it will fail-over. Connections to highly available SQL Server databases—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop  If the principal server becomes unavailable, ArcGIS for Server retries the connection automatically. Hi Muhammad, SQL Server 2008 is not a certified (supported) SQL Server version for ArcGIS 10.4.1. ArcGIS 10.4 and newer clients connecting to SQL Server must use a SQL Server 2012 or newer client. Hi Daniel, This is really a question about how much "coverage" you want to have in regards to disaster recovery of your SQL Server database. There are different recovery methods in SQL Server that can be used. The transaction log is not an Esri controlled piece of the SQL Server. I see where you are coming from, but we list the "base" supported version and anticipate that all the updates after that version work as well. So as long as you are at the "base" version you should be good in terms of support. It would be almost impossible for any company to test their software against all the versions/updates for other RDBMS's let alone other O/S's that are supported. Hi acmadison and tdowd, As for the supported version of SQL Server 2014, support starts at the base version of 2014. Just cause no service packs are listed does not mean that they are not supported. Non-certification of an environment does not necessarily mean it is not supported. That environment is supported if it meets or exceeds the base build environment and that environment is known to not fail. Environments that are known to not work are usually documented on the product support page as soon as that information is available. Ok, thanks for the clarification. Is the replica created off the same version that you are making the SQL edits to? If you are using the versioned view, it should put them in the correct versions lineage and then sync with the replica. Have you tried to compress the parent GDB first then sync to the child? Are you editing the versioned views and setting the correct version for editing? You can edit your versioned data via SQL in SQLPlus, etc..
