Tawny Lochner For ArcGIS Pro 2.1 and the upcoming 2.2, you have the option to lock Pro down to use only the concurrent license option and pointing to a predefined license manager. In this scenario, all users starting ArcGIS Pro will be locked to using only the concurrent use licensing option. Refer to the bottom of page 13 in the following document for additional detail. http://downloads.esri.com/support/downloads/other_/ArcGIS_Enterprise_Deployment_10.5.1_2.0.pdf However there is no option yet available to include all extensions. Using this option, the user will start ArcGIS Pro using a core license from a license manager. He/She will still need to go to the Configure Licenses dialogue to select one or more extensions. This is the preferred process for most license administrators. In a situation where there are more users than licenses, it's not ideal because users will check out licenses they don't use.

Andrew, The error usually indicates something has changed in the service.txt file. How this may have happen, I cannot say. The easier and cleaner option is to uninstall the ArcGIS License Manager. Before doing so, go to C:\Program files (x86)\ArcGIS\License10.6\bin. Copy or move service.txt to another location. Uninstall the license manager. Make sure service.txt was removed. Reinstall the license manager should create a new service.txt file. Make sure the license manager and function properly. Give this a try. If that wasn't the case, it is possible the license manager is reading license files from other vendors. In this case, contact Technical Support. The analyst can help determine the cause.

Travis, Offline license of ArcGIS Pro will remain on the computer until you return the license. Otherwise AGOL will continue to prompt the error you mentioned above when attempting to log into Pro on any other system using that account. I understand you've been using just the one machine. These are two scenario which may have occurred: 1. You logged into the system using account A and took the license offline. Then later you logged into the system using another account, B for example. Pro will start with the default AGOL login page because the offline license only applies to the Windows users it was taken offline for. Of course you're attempting to log in with the same account. Again AGOL let you know licenses were already taken offline for this account. If this is the case, log into the system using the same account you used to take the licenses offline. Then proceed to return the license. 2. At some point you've attempted to return the offline licenses and failed or something odd had occurred where the borrowed licenses became corrupt. The machine no longer acknowledge there is any borrowed license. But AGOL says otherwise. In this situation, you will need to contact our Tech Support or Customer Service to reset the account at the AGOL side. Hope this helps.

Tony, From the description provided, I assume ArcGIS Enterprise was upgraded and functioning properly. ArcGIS Pro is probably not having a problem with ArcGIS Enterprise or Pro licenses assigned. The problem is likely on the License Manager side. Please verify your license manager version is also 10.5.1 or later. The license manager must be at least the same version as ArcGIS Enterprise. Also, please verify the version of ArcGIS Pro.

Howard, This is a known bug that popped up recently. We are working on a fix to address this on the server-side which will likely be completed late next week. In the meantime, please contact Technical Support if you cannot wait and need the licenses offline before then. Here is the bug number and information if you need to reference it to Technical Support: BUG-000113766 - Cannot take Pro licenses offline in situations where license expiration date is not correctly synced with org expiration date.

Assuming you've installed CityEngine 2017.1, go to Start>Programs>Esri>CityEngine 2017.1>CityEngine 2017.1 Administrator. In the ArcGIS Administrator, click on the CityEgine folder if not already selected. For Software Product, select the option, Advanced Single Use. Then Authorized Now. Follow the authorization wizard. Provide your evaluation code when prompt to do so. This would have been sent to your email address. Once completed, you can close the ArcGIS Administrator and start CityEngine. If the application was not installed or installed incorrectly, download the software and try the installation again.

The following is a section of the ArcGIS Pro documentation concerning Named User licensing in ArcGIS Enterprise: When you sign in to ArcGIS Pro with your ArcGIS Enterprise user name and password, ArcGIS Enterprise validates your membership in the portal organization and confirms that you are licensed to use ArcGIS Pro. ArcGIS Pro then contacts ArcGIS License Manager to obtain a license. If a license is available, ArcGIS Pro starts. In this part of the process, ArcGIS Enterprise does not communicate with the license manager. In your situation, the Portal is externally accessible but the license manager is not. It sits behind a fire within AWS environment. You will need to configure the license manager to work through the firewall which includes the following: 1. Locking down ports for the license manager daemons, arcgis.exe and lmgrd.exe. 2. Create an exception through the firewall for the two ports specified. Here's a documentation to guide you through the process: Configure ArcGIS License Manager to work through a firewall—License Manager Guide | ArcGIS Desktop

Jarmo Sireeni My apologies. You were correct. We assumed the aforementioned fix address Pro Named User license as well as Drone2Map. This is not the case. Authorizing Drone2Map license should do the following: 1. Update the SERVER entry to replace "ANY" to the Mac Address. 2. Update the FEATURE ACT component to match the Mac Address. 3. Add Drone2Map feature. The authorization wizard did not complete the second process. It used the existing FEATURE ACT entry. This will be addressed in later release of the license manager. In the meantime, follow the steps below for a workaround: 1. Stop the license manager. 2. Start NotePad or other text editor as an Administrator. Open existing file and browse to service.txt in C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\LicenseManager\bin. 3. Open your Drone2Map.lic file in another NotePad. 4. Replace the FEATURE ACT entry in service.txt with the one from Drone2Map.lic. 5. Save the change. 6. Restart the license manager. Both Pro Concurrent Use and Drone2Map licenses should be valid afterward. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for bringing this up to our attention.

What you described was a bug in LM 10.5.1 but should have been fixed in 10.6. Provisioning files for Pro Named User license and Drone2Map requires a MAC Address. During authorization, the wizard should update the ACT feature to match the new hostname (MAC Address as opposed to ANY). This did not happen in LM 10.5.1 which cause Pro Concurrent license to fail. I was thinking how you got into this situation. It is possible you may have installed LM 10.5.1 and authorized the Drone2Map license. Pro Concurrent license would have broken at this point. Then you upgraded to LM 10.6 which would actually preserve your existing service.txt file. The fix is easy enough. Reauthorize the Drone2Map license. It will update the ACT feature and existing Drone2Map feature. Both licenses should work afterward.

Named User licensing is only available for ArcGIS Pro. You log into AGOL or Portal for ArcGIS to assign ArcGIS Pro licenses to user accounts. Start and log into ArcGIS Pro with the Pro licensed account. Pro will open with the license level and extensions previously assigned to the account. You can use the same account to open up to three ArcGIS Pro applications on any device, assuming they have Internet access of course. You also have the option to take a license offline. When doing so, the license is only good for the machine you take the license offline on. You cannot use the same account to log into another session of ArcGIS Pro until the offline licenses are returned. The following link provides additional information concerning each licensing option: ArcGIS Desktop licensing—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop

Jarmo, There are quite a few variables to rule out. However, I would start with the ArcGIS Pro licenses on LM02. Go to the Availability folder and verify there are ArcGIS Pro Advanced, Standard, and/or Basic (ArcGIS Pro) and opposed to Desktop Advanced, Standard or Basic (ArcMap). Of course make sure there are licenses available. I would also check the license manager debug log file to verify the listed licenses are good and available. If you verified the licenses are valid and available, move to the next step and make sure the client machine have access to the license manager. If ArcMap is able to consume licenses from the same license manager, it is enough to assume there is no connection issue. If you need someone to look over the license for any issue, I recommend contacting Technical Support. Our staff can walk you through license verification and help you troubleshoot the issue if necessary.

Matt, There are a couple key advantages for using the Named User licensing option: 1. Client machines are not tied to a particular network. Any machine that has Internet connection can use ArcGIS Pro. 2. You can run three applications simultaneously using the same account. These are two of the key features you will lose when switching to Concurrent Use licensing option. Of course there are key advantages to using Concurrent Use licensing option as well.
