Hello, I'm quite new in the development of widgets for WAB. I use ArcGIS enterprise portal 10.6 and WAB developer edition 2.10. I have an application that uses data that is updated every two weeks or every month. For every new batch of data I replace the FGDB in the registered folder and the next time the users open the application, it shows the new data. As part of the application, we have a Filter widget that filters the Year field (integer) and the Month field (integer). Since most of the users want to check the last month data, the default values of the filter have to be the last month and year. Until now, every time we receive new data, we enter the application, manually change the default month and year of the filter, save and copy the application to the right folder in the IIS server. I'd like to automate that process so the filter widget in the application checks the data, finds the last month and year and sets the default values of the filter. A simple approach could be a script, external to the application, that reads the new data and do some changes to the filter widget JSON, as shown in the next lines: "parts": [ { "fieldObj": { "name": "Year", "label": "Year", "dateFormat": "", "shortType": "number", "type": "esriFieldTypeDouble" }, "operator": "numberOperatorIs", "valueObj": { "isValid": true, "type": "unique", "value": 2020 }, "interactiveObj": { "prompt": "Year is", "hint": "", "cascade": "previous" }, "caseSensitive": false, "displaySQL": "Year = 2020", "expr": "Year = 2020" } ], This is easy to achieve but is not the automation I'm willing to use. Instead, I'd like to find where the configuration data, read from the above JSON file, resides within the application and change it programmatically every time that the application opens/loads the filter widget - I guess it should be in the PostCreate function, using the Query function. I've looked for it in the debugger and couldn't find where the data is, so I'm kindly asking for your assistance. Thank you in advance, Marcelo

I guess I was happy too soon. The 2.10 version doesn't download correctly. Hopefully somebody from ESRI see this and offers a solution

It worked perfectly. Thank you so much! I have another little issue that Id like to fix. In the line with the hyperlink I'd like to have some regular text and then the text with the hyperlink. In the next line: <a href="{expression/expr5}" style="display:{expression/expr6}">Map page: {expression/expr7}</a> "Map page: " is the regular text and the "expr7" contains the text for the hyperlink. The result is that both "map page: " and the expr7 get the hyperlink. The other option was to move the regular text ("Map page: ") out of the "<a... line" so it doesn't get the hyperlink but then the regular text is shown in a separate line, like: Map page: hyperlink text Any way to solve it? Thank you in advance!

Hello, My problem has been mentioned here but I couldn't find a solution. I use an IF statement in Arcade to show different texts in my popup. I'd like to be able to introduce the hyperlink option into the IF so in one case it shows the text as a clickable hyperlink and in the other case it shows just text - no hyperlink attached to it and no option to click on it. Thank you in advance, Marcelo

Hello, I'd like to check if a folder exists in the portal before I create it. I don't see the feature_type = 'folder' option. Thank you in advance, Marcelo

Hello, I've just seen your comment that refers to the UniqueValueRenderer in arcpy.mp, which I'm trying not to use because most of my users still need MXds. Do you think it's possible to create a symbology from another symbology? I mean that I have a unique values symbology - a layer file - applied to a certain value field and I need to prepare a parallel symbology for another value field, meaning that everything will be the same - labels, descriptions and mainly the polygons color and pattern - but for a different set of values. If there were examples, more than the two shown in the ESRI page, I'd appreciate getting links to them. Thanks much, Marcelo

Hello all, I'm looking for a solution to my situation although I'm quite pessimistic. I work with Python/arcpy for ArcMap. I have a similar situation like the one previously described: one huge layer file with the enterprise symbology for a polygons unique value layer and the need to apply it to smaller layers programatically. I use Python and arcpy.mapping since I need MXD files, although a solution for arcpy.mp would do some help. I tried ApplySymbologyFromLayer_management and also mapping.UpdateLayer. Both work by creating a layer that can be saved to a layer file and also saved in an MXD. The problem is that my value field values are not ordered in the order that I want to see in the TOC - the order that we use in the symbology of the enterprise layer file - and when I use any of the two methods - ApplySymbology... or UpdateLayer - I get the values list in ascending order of the value field and that's not what I need. I've also tried to play with the symbology.classValues and symbology.classLabels lists, by changing the order of the elements, but nothing helps. The order goes back to the wrong one. I'm happy with any help. Thank you in advance, Marcelo

Hello, I'd like to set the ID of a layer/table in an MXD - or in a Map in Pro - programatically with Python. I see that the question was already rised around 2015 with no satisfactory answer. Thanks, Marcelo

If it weren't so sad, I'd laugh about your comment. I guess I'm one of the angry customers that you mentioned. In the five years since we entered the portal age, my portal/server has broken for no reason several times. Fortunately, the support representatives of the local distributor are nice and helpful but still, I devoted much time to the portal issues. In summary, marketing talks and technology reality are not always related one to each other

Hello, I wonder if there is a way to sign out from the portal in arcpy. Since I may want to publish a service using arcpy and do some other activities using the Python API, I wonder if I won't be entering problems into my portal if I sign in twice from the same python program, once from arcpy and a second time from the API. Thanks, Marcelo
