I am attempting to update links to images (using the story map builder) in a map series so that it references https://, however most of the time the edit "pencil" icon in the corner does not open an edit window. Sometimes builder does not even show the edit icon at all! However, sometimes it works just fine. It is inconsistent and I don't know what I am doing wrong. I am using Chrome, but I have also attempted to use firefox with the same results. Please see attached images-

Our air photo is a mosaic dataset, and I cannot figure out where to add this to my Pro 'MapProject'. The application doesn't "see" it in my raster geodatabase. I also tried importing a map from an mxd that had the photo mosaic as a layer, and it did not come across. How can I add my mosaic raster? Thank you for your help-

Is there a way to rotate the map referenced in the story map by 180 degrees?

I completely edited the web mapping application information for my new entry story map (the one created automatically), and so I think everything is working well now. I can get back into editing from that interface, I just cannot get there from my-stories or by entering &edit after the story map title in my browser. But that's okay. I can do what I need to. Thanks for your help!

No, that does not work either. The original web map app that I created was called LithiaHistoric2.0. If I go into that "wrapper" and choose configure app in that location, I can get back to the builder. Would you recommend just transferring all of the description in my original self-registered app into this new one and call it good? Will I ever be able to get the features in my-stories to work with this work around? Thank you for being patient and helpful with me. This is obviously not my area of expertise.

After renaming the directory, I can view the new story map here: http://gis.ashland.or.us/LithiaHistoric/ But... if I type "edit" at the end to enter builder mode, I get a 404- directory not found notice. And in the "my-stories" location, if I click 'edit story' I get the same 404 notice. I did go in and change the url in my web mapping app, and that did not make a difference. I will try creating another web mapping application item and see if that works.

Okay, so when I did that, I was unable to enter the builder mode again. The story map itself did indeed work. Do I need to update the registration here (see attached image) with the new web app ID?

I have a self-hosted map tour story map that I created last winter by downloading and editing the template. That story map has a presence here: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=a7aedb46e18e4b3183783e3618606acb And it actually lives here: http://gis.ashland.or.us/LithiaHistoric/ I have created an update to this story map that includes more photos and information, and this time I used the builder, although I am still self-hosting. That story map currently lives here: http://gis.ashland.or.us/LithiaHistoric2.0/ reference: id=ca84ed0e9fab473e838a3f07eb32695a (the images do not work by design, but will soon) My question: Is it possible to swap in the new one by just renaming the file reference (i.e. delete the 2.0, and just call it LithiaHistoric)? A quick switcheroo behind the scenes? Is it possible to retain the "wrapper" indicated in my first file reference above, the piece that describes the contents? Or do I have to recreate it now that I have a 'registered' web app? Thanks for help. I am confused as to what will happen and I do not want to ruin my initial work by just doing this.

Yes, that worked! Clicking on the white space is magic. The template I used was downloaded directly from the story maps website this week, so I would assume it is the current version.

Gregory, can you tell me why my logo will not replace the stock ESRI logo in the top right corner? It is located here: http://gis.ashland.or.us/lithiahistoric/resources/icons/AshlandParksRecLogo241x225.png but although that path works fine in my browser, it is not working as a logo. What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks for clarifying this! I have found that some items do not seem to respond as well using the online builder. The custom logo in the top right will not update for me, for example. I was able to finally get the zoom level to respond just now. I will work with this again tomorrow morning and see if there are any other problems. Thanks for your help.

I am creating a map tour story map in which I have downloaded the template in order to modify some elements, but I also want to have a hosted presence in order to maintain my story maps gallery and use the tools that ESRI offers there. The problem I have run across is that once hosted, the app no longer pays any attention to my custom settings such as the optional zoom level, or some of my meta properties. Is there a way to have my story map in both worlds, hosted and template versions? Thank you!
