What browser are you using? I can upload it fine using Firefox. You've tried both adding it to your My Content section and directly to a map?

Roy had posted in a different forum and the problem had actually turned out to be he was in the Source tab in the Table of Contents rather than the List by Visibility tab. Is this the case for you?

Can you try to rename your Normal.mxt first? Make sure that all ArcMap and ArcCatalog instances are closed: 1) In Windows 7: Navigate to C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Desktop10.0\ArcMap\Templates\. In Windows XP: Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Userprofile>\Application Data\ ESRI\Desktop10.0\ArcMap\Templates\. Note: If you can't see the Application Data folder, go to Tools > Folder Options > View. Under Hidden files and folders, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives. In Windows 7, press Alt to get the toolbar that the Tools menu is on. 2) Rename the Normal.mxt to Normal_old.mxt. Open ArcMap and see if the problem is reproducible.

We get the 499 error because the hosted service is not shared with everyone. If you'd like us to take a look at the service, can you share it with everyone?

I'm thinking that you may not have shared the map or the data within the map to everyone; when I click on the link to open the map, it brings me to ArcGIS.com and requires me to sign in. Can you make sure that both the map and the data within the map are shared with everyone?

Do you have any values within within the attributes of the points that can be grouped? If so, you can use the Iterate Feature Selection tool within Modelbuilder to iterate through each group, make the selection, run any other tools. If you don't have a field to group values on, you can create a fishnet that will cover the extent of your data and then use the Iterate Feature Selection tool again to select each grid, use the Select by Location to select points that fall within the grid, process the data, then use the Collect Values tool to collect the output. Finally, use the this model in a separate model and use the output of the collect values tool as the input to a Merge tool to merge the data back together. Here's a image of a sample workflow: The larger model was just dragged into a new model from ArcCatalog. The last output of the submodel is a parameter so it can exposed within the main model.

Are you iterating through multiple folders, and then within each folder, iterating through the shapefiles within the folder? So you essentially want to capture the last folder within the directory?

That issue is currently a bug that is logged: Bug NIM-082896. It indicates that the Delete Selected button is grayed out, but will probably also be related to the same function through the drop down menu if you right click on a selected record.

I'm not sure why the drop down is greyed out, but you could look into using some geoprocessing tools to create your area of interest feature class. For example, you could create a fishnet and then use the Select By Location to select for grid features that only intersect your data. Perhaps you could also use the Buffer tool to buffer an existing layer within your data that completely covers your data and use the output as the Area of Interest feature class.
