Hi Marisa, I tested your map journal on my office and home networks as well as on my phone over the cell network and it loaded fine each time. I also looked at the network traffic using the browser dev tools and didn't notice any errors or anything else that looked like it would cause a problem. It may be a network issue on your side or a cache issue. If you hear anyone else complain about this please ask them to clear their browser cache and try again, and let me know if it continues to be an issue. Owen

Hi Ionut, The Twister Dashboard app is not available as a supported template, but the code can be obtained from GitHub here if you'd like to download and host it yourself. Owen

Hi Shruthi, Map Tour doesn't currently support a basemap picker, but you could add one in the downloadable version of the app. I believe the easiest way would be to use the Basemap dijit included in the ArcGIS API for JavaScript (Documentation here). Before adding an additional widget to the app, however, we'd recommend having a solid justification of the value it will provide to your audience. Adding too many options can sometime confuse more than help. That being said, there are reasons to add additional basemap choices, but we'd recommend limiting the number of basemaps to the two or three most useful ones. Another thing you could do (without customization and hosting the app yourself) is to put a scale dependent basemap in your web map to switch the basemap automatically for your viewers. For example, you could use the NatGeo basemap at small scales for reference but switch on the imagery basemap at large scales to get more local detail. Owen

Hi Marisa, Sorry for your issue. Can you share a link to your journal so we can take a look? You can send me a private GeoNet message if you'd rather not post the link here. Owen

Flo, Yes, you can just add "&embed" to the URL of the embedded story map and that will remove the header. From the blog post you referenced: The following link opens a Story Map Spyglass as normally configured: http://story.maps.arcgis.com/apps/StorytellingSwipe/index.html?appid=fc64e3596bbd4d3caf865da6d77c386e The following link opens a Story Map Spyglass using &embed to minimize the UI: http://story.maps.arcgis.com/apps/StorytellingSwipe/index.html?appid=fc64e3596bbd4d3caf865da6d77c386e&embed Hope this helps! Jami -- I inspected the bullets icons at the top of the app and they use the same graphic resources as the map markers (they just chop off the bottom portion so they look like circles), so if you change the map marker assets and update all URLs I believe your images should also appear in the bullets. Also, I see your original post was from Feb 2015, so I assume you downloaded the Zoo Babies app code from here. In March 2015 we released the Story Map Series app, which incorporates this bulleted layout (as well as tabbed and side accordion layouts) and has a builder configuration experience. That app is also available on github if you want to look at customizing its look and feel. Owen

Hi Paul, You will have to publish the image as a GIS web service and add that to a web map to use it with the swipe/spyglass app. How large is the image? Tile and data storage is just 1.2 credits/GB-month, so it shouldn't cost very many credits to host even a large tile cache on ArcGIS Online. To do this add the image to ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro, create a tile package, and then upload it to ArcGIS Online and publish as a tile service. If you have access to an ArcGIS Server you could host the image as an image service or map service and not consume any ArcGIS Online credits. Owen

Hi Joseph Jose Your question on statistics is a bit off-topic in this discussion of map tour legends. I'd suggest starting a new discussion in the ArcGIS Online place with your question so it will get more attention. I'm suggesting the ArcGIS Online place since your question applies to any web app, not just story maps, so members of that space might have good suggestions on how to capture statistics. Owen

Ann, Alexander, and Heather, Sorry you are having this issue. I just tested this in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox and things worked as expected. Could you try clearing your browser cache and then connecting to Fb from the map journal app again? If that doesn't work, could you please post some screenshots of where the process hangs? Owen

Hi Jan, Thanks for the additional information. I was able to reproduce the situation you described and we have identified this as a bug. I've created this Github issue so you can track it: Pins created by locate place/address main stage action do not disappear. · Issue #33 I also have a suggestion for how you might be able to accomplish something similar: Create a web map that has one feature layer or map notes layer with the points you want to call out for each section (one layer per section). Add this web map to a map journal section, and use a custom content configuration to make only the layer for the current section visible. (see screenshots, below) In the side panel, highlight the text that you want the reader to click on to zoom to the first point and use a main stage action to "Change the main stage content" and use a custom location configuration to pan/zoom the map to the first point. Repeat as needed for each point in the first section. Add another section to the journal, use the same web map and a custom content configuration to make only the layer for the second section visible. Configure main stage action text links for the second section as needed. Repeat as needed for all remaining sections. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any more questions. Owen

Hi Jan, Yes, this is the right place for questions about the Map Journal! However, I'm not sure I understand your question. Can you please provide a bit more information as well as a screenshot indicating the blue bullets/markers you mentioned? Thanks! Owen
