Hi Jami, The views reported in My Stories are the same views reported on the web application item on arcgis.com. For web apps (including Story Maps) the number of views goes up by one every time the app is loaded. Views are not counted for web apps when the item page is viewed. So that number of views will include the times you've reloaded the app during development (assuming your app is hosted on arcgis.com). Hope this is helpful - let me know if you have any more questions. Owen

Hi Kirsten, Thanks for your feedback; I agree that would be be a better experience. I've created an issue on GitHub for your request so we can consider and prioritize this for a future release and so you can track it. We'd hope to get this added to our March or July release next year. If you absolutely need that experience today, you could put your map in the Map Tools configurable app (which does have the pin and pop-up) and then embed that app in your Map Series (see this blog post for instructions). Todd, While there's currently no way to merge accounts, I have a script that migrates items, groups, role, and profile info from one account to another that can be used for this purpose. This script is unsupported, so please test before using to confirm it works in your environment. See the Enterprise Logins section of this page on the ArcGIS Organization Administrator's Wiki for details: Maintenance Tasks: Members · Esri/ago-admin-wiki Wiki · GitHub If you haven't run python scripts on your machine before see this page for help: Set up your machine for python admin scripting · Esri/ago-admin-wiki Wiki · GitHub Owen

Last night (Sept 9, 2015), ArcGIS Online was updated in a release focusing on quality and stability. Here is a list of some of the issues addressed in our Storytelling apps. Spellchecking has been added to all input fields in Map Journal, Map Series, Map Tour, and Swipe apps! The quality and experience of the spellchecker is browser-specific. Various improvements to the web map picker: ability to clear search field, look and feel of pagination and thumbnails. (Journal, Series, Swipe) Fixed an issue preventing the addition of links using HTTPS (or protocols other than HTTP) Fixed an issue preventing the legend's 'Open by default' setting from persisting after editing an entry (Journal/Series) Fixed the behavior of the 'Unload when reader navigates away' feature to accommodate a web page containing autoplaying audio/video content (Journal/Series) Fixed the Bullet Layout overflow dropdown list icon placement (Series) Fixed an issue in Safari with the text editor that caused the cursor to jump to the top of the section when hitting Enter. (Journal/Series) Various visual improvements and fixes to text and element position/layout. Lists of all the issues addressed can be found in the release notes on the public repositories for the Storytelling apps on GitHub: Map Series Map Journal Map Tour Swipe

Hi Allison, Sorry you are having this problem. We do know about this issue and plan to fix it in the November release. As a workaround for now you can paste the URL for the page into the "webpage URL" field (instead of using the iframe/embed). Owen

Hi John, Looks like all those icons aren't publicly accessible. I tried to paste the URL below in my browser address bar and got a "page cannot be found" error and you can see all the "resource failed to load" errors in the browser dev tools: http://www.pbcgov.com/pzb/Planning/ActiveAmend/map/resources/images/icons/green/NumberIcong2.png Can you check that those image URLs are correct and that folder and its contents are *publicly* accessible on your web server? I didn't see a header logo or any errors for loading a logo image. Is that still in the app? Owen

Hi John, Sorry you are having trouble. It sounds like your icon links are broken or the icon files aren't publicly accessible. Could you please provide a little more information so I can help you troubleshoot your issue? Which story map app are you using? Are you creating a story map on arcgis.com or did you download the app code and host it yourself? Which icons are red Xs? Default map pins, a map symbol you added, your organization's logo, something else? Owen

Joseph, I'm not sure why you are not getting that option in the UI. I just checked and saw it in Chrome and Safari (both on a Mac). However, looking at how deselecting that option changes the embed code it looks like you just need to add ?rel=0 to your URL, so you can easily do it manually. For example: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tqOmAA0HlEM?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Hope this helps! Owen

Hi Eric -- give this a try. The YouTube interface has changed slightly since this was written, but the option to hide related video links is still there. You just have to click "Show More" from the embedding options. Owen

Thanks for the information, Frank! I'm interested in learning more about the zoning maps that you'll publish. The legend can of course be added to a printout, but are the maps labeled? One of the challenges we see with printing story maps is that many web maps are often much less useful when they lose their interactivity. If you can't click to see a pop-up many of the features would be unknown to a reader looking at a paper print out. Do you have a case where the maps are (or could be) authored in a way that they will be useful and contain the necessary reference information for a reader to make sense of a printed map? Thanks again for your help! Owen

Hi Sorry you are having trouble with one of the Story Map apps. To change the symbols of a map note just open the map note feature's pop-up and click Change Symbol. Then you can choose a new symbol or click Use an Image to point to a symbol on the web via URL. For the second issue, it sounds like the web map may have not been saved or the Contents configuration in the story map was not what you expected. Are you still having this issue? If so can you share a link to the app? Owen

Hi Frank/Mahesh, We have heard the request for printing story maps before and have discussed it, but we don't have any firm plans in this area. It would be very helpful to us if you could please provide some more information about how you and your story map readers would use a print function. Who would be printing the map and for what purpose? Would you/they need to print a single section or would they want a printout of the entire story or need both options? Would they "print" to a PDF document or to make a paper/hard copy or both? Any other specific requirements that you can think of? Owen

Hi Martha, There was a recent blog post about the URL parameters supported by ArcGIS Online configurable apps. However, if you are just using another app to provide layer toggling, I'd strongly recommend that you consider adding the web map to your Map Journal and using Main Stage Actions to manipulate the map for your readers. Main Stage Actions don't require any additional user interface controls (like a layer list, basemap selector, etc.) that might clutter your journal or confuse your readers. They allow you to integrate the control of the map into the words of your story. Just highlight some text and click the Change Main Stage Content button to configure an action. Actions can turn layers on/off, zoom to a location, or make a specific feature's pop-up appear. You can even switch to a different web map or change the main stage from one type of content to another (map to image, video to map, image to web page, etc.). Actions can help you use a single web map to tell many different parts of your story. Hope this is helpful! Owen
