Hi Steven - I split your post off of the rest of the discussion on Story Maps since your question is about Web AppBuilder and I moved it to the Web AppBuilder Place on GeoNet. Owen

Hi Yichi, Hello and welcome to Story Mapping! There isn't a way to do that using the Map Journal, but we have an app called Map Series that lets you do that. Specifically, you'd use the Side Accordion layout of Map Series. Here's an example and you can see more examples of this in our gallery. Owen

Ah, ok -- sounds like you might want to build a Map Tour with your images and a point layer and then embed that in one of the tabs of your Map Series app (using the "web page" option). Here's some more info on that process: Embedding a Story Map within a Story Map | ArcGIS Blog Let me know if this helps, Owen

Hi Luke, Sure, you can put any type of layer in your web map: points, lines, polygons, tiles, imagery, etc. There's no way to configure the app to zoom when you click on a point on the map, although that would be something a developer could customize the app to do by writing JavaScript code. I'm not quite sure I understand the zooming behavior you are describing. Can you describe a little more the experience you are trying to create and maybe I can help find another way to help. Owen

Hi Phillip, There isn't a way to add an address search in Map Journal at this time, but we are considering that for a future release. In the meantime, you can put your map into a different configurable app that does have an address search (like the Basic Viewer, Map Tools, Web AppBuilder, or Map Series) and then embed that app in your Map Journal app. There's more information on how to do that in this blog post: Embedding a Story Map within a Story Map | ArcGIS Blog Hope this is helpful! Hi Luke, Sure, you can include layers in your map that turn on/off depending on the scale the map is being viewed. This is called the Visibility Range and it can be set on any layer in your web map.

Hi Luke, Welcome to Story Maps! Sorry you are having an issue. A Map Tour typically only has one layer, which is a point layer of the tour points, so I'm not sure which polygon layer you are referring to. Are you able to provide a bit more information and/or share your map tour publicly and post a link here so I can take a look? Owen

For adding a search bar that searches features in the map to the side panel, that would be a customization that you'd need to download the source code and develop on your own. Map Journal code is available here on GitHub. Owen

Hi Cory, I took a look at the developer tools in my browser and it looks like this is a mixed-content issue (https & http content in the same app). If you access your Amazon-hosted app over http instead of https the embedded app loads. If you require https for the Amazon-hosted app then make sure to use the https URL when embedding the basic viewer app in your story map configuration. Let me know if you are able to use one of these solutions. Owen

Hi Cory, This is easy to do and it sounds like you already have another app that does what you want, so you're already halfway there! Just add the URL of your app with search to a section of your story map as a web page. Be sure to use the "Stretch" position option to the app fills the entire main stage. If you're not familiar with how to do that there's more information in this blog post. There are several configurable apps that have search capabilities, so just pick the one that provides the best experience for your story. Here's an example of a Map Journal with an embedded Web AppBuilder app with search: http://arcg.is/1FugOFu Let me know if this is helpful! Owen P.S. After the November 2015 update to ArcGIS Online the "Stretch" position option will be renamed to "Fill," and it will be the default position for web pages.

Also, if you want to remove the header for the embedded map tours you can just add &embed to the end of the URL like this. http://esripm.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapTour/index.html?appid=948a853492444b518993045cee0d0bad&webmap=862769ae085045f597208c05914fa3cd&embed I did this with the Presidential Birthplaces tour in the example posted above.
