Hi William -- you can host your page anywhere that can host static web pages like a standard web server, Amazon S3, Windows Azure, GoDaddy, etc. Just make sure to make your files public when you upload them or else you won't be able to see them inside the story map.

Hi Kate -- Our team is focusing development resources on other story map projects this release cycle, so unfortunately there are no significant updates coming for Cascade in the next (December) release. If you'd like to have a pop-out image gallery in a Cascade your best option is to create a custom web page that you host yourself and embed that in your story.

Hi Kamil -- Do you want to A) change the basemap in a Shortlist story to your own basemap that doesn't appear in the builder basemap gallery, or B) add a way for your readers to change the basemap themselves from a list of basemaps you provide? For (A), you can just open the web map associated with your Shortlist story from your Content page on arcgis.com, swap in whatever basemap you want, and save the web map. The next time you load your Shortlist the new web map will be shown. For (B), you would need to download the Shortlist app code from Github and customize it to add a basemap picker. However, in most cases we believe providing this option for readers is unnecessary with such a simple app as Shortlist. You might be interested in reading this related GeoNet thread, which has more thoughts on this.

Kevin -- Yep! You can enable bookmarks in Settings > Map options. Just create your bookmarks in the Shortlist web map and then check the box shown below. Optionally, you can change the name of the bookmark menu. Then your bookmarks will appear in the Shortlist story like this:

Hi Luc -- Sure, you can do that, but you'll need to host your own web page that has the clickable image and then add that web page to your story map. There’s no customization of the story map required, and you’d just paste in the link to your custom web page to your home story map. We did a clickable image a while ago in our thanksgiving story. There’s a bunch of generators available on the web, just google “Image map generator.” They will let you trace parts of an image and will then give you the html code. You can either make the clickable areas links to open a new page.

Hi Kari -- you'd need to publish the TIFF as an image layer, add that image layer to a web map, and then add the web map to your story map. Here's a blog with more information about the publication process you'd follow: Using Online Imagery in Your Maps and Apps | ArcGIS Blog.

Hi Matt -- Sorry, that calculation is nested inside an if statement that only kicks in when you have more sections in your story. You can see more room devoted to the active section content on your app if you make your browser window shorter than about 750px. If you want this to also work at taller browser window heights then just increase the number in line 194 from 120 to something like 500 or 1000.

Matt -- You'll need to make sure you take a look at and read the instructions in the developer guide of the readme, in particular the environment setup section. Sounds like you haven't installed or initialized Node.

Jeff -- Sorry, I'm not able to reproduce what you're describing. Could you please provide a few more details about the steps your are following to add the image? For example, where/how are you adding the image? Maybe even post a series of screenshots showing what's happening? That might help us isolate the issue.

Matt -- you'll need to download the full source code for the app and then compile your customized code to make this change. Check out this article which describes the process.

Hmm, whenever you add an image in the side panel it should put an extra line of body text after the caption, and I just confirmed this is the case. What browser/OS are you using?

Hi Matt -- The accordion section panel's max height is set by line 197 in the AccordionPanel.js file. You can adjust the portion of the panel that is dedicated to showing the active content. Currently it's set at 1/3 of the total panel height. Changing the 3 to 2, 1.5, or even 1.25 will allocate more space to the active section content and less space to the inactive section titles. We have been considering changing this and will likely increase the amount of space devoted to the active section content in the next release (early Dec).

Hi Andrew -- you just needed to read one more sentence in that FAQ to get the answer... 😉 Yes. You can create a layer that uses the set of fields that the Map Tour expects, add it to a web map, open that web map, and then share it by creating a Story Map Tour app. The Map Tour Builder will recognize your layer and use it to define the Tour. You can download a CSV file containing the Map Tour field template from the Advanced Options in the Map Tour Builder Welcome dialog.

Hi -- Pressing ENTER at the end of a line of caption text will keep you inside the caption. Just click below the caption or use the down arrow to exit the caption so you can add more body text or another image.
