Hi Victoria -- Sorry you are having an issue with your Map Journal. I believe the issue you are having is that the builder only authorizes subscription layers for the story hosted on arcgis.com, and that authorization is not valid if the story map app is hosted on your own server. I believe you'll need to add any subscription/premium content (like the World Traffic Service that is in the map in that section prompting for a login) as a new layer item and save your credentials with that item. Then you'll add that new layer item to your web map that's used in your story. That should authorize the content for the story hosted on your own server. Hi Alex -- glad you have gotten Cascade to work hosted locally. To address your questions: 1) The story content/configuration must be hosted in ArcGIS Online (or on an ArcGIS Enterprise portal). There's no way to download that and separate it from the ArcGIS system. That doesn't prevent you from customizing the app code though. Check out this article for more information on hosting and customizing story map apps.  2) There's currently no way to link from a map to a different part of the story in the builder, but I'll check with our developers and get back to you with some ideas on how to do this via customization. ... Hi Karen -- Thanks for posting your question about Cascade. This is the expected behavior -- sound is not supported for videos used as cover background media. The web community overwhelmingly dislikes web content that autoplays with audio, which can surprise or embarrass readers since they are not expecting it. We suggest that the cover video be used as a visual attention-getter rather than a piece of content where audio is required to understand or gain full appreciation. If audio is critical to a video, I would suggest using an image (or different video) on the cover and then include the video with audio elsewhere in the story where audio is supported. Hi Melanie -- When I try to embed your website in a story map I can see this error in the console. This indicates the website itself restricts embedding, so you'll need to add a hyperlink in the text of your story so this web site opens in a new tab. ... View more

Marissa -- The technique Carmel mentioned can work if you really need the PDF to appear in the story. Be aware that you'll need to share the PDF with Everyone to get its public URL to appear on the item page (it'll be at the bottom of the right sidebar). Adding a PDF to a story map works best in Map Journal (side panel layout) and maybe in a Map Series, but I wouldn't recommend it in most cases for a Cascade story. In any case, I'd think about whether you really need to have the PDF appear inside the story. If the PDF is a single page or just a few pages, embedding can be ok. But if it's a long report it's almost always a better experience for readers if you describe or discuss the important parts of a PDF in the narrative of your story and then include a hyperlink to it in the text of your story. That way that if people need to view the PDF they can follow the hyperlink to open it in a new browser tab. ... View more

Lesley -- There isn't an option to set a plain background in Cascade, so I would recommend you always add a background image. If you want to use a plain color image that can work, but you'll need to create and add your own colored graphic to achieve that effect. We are considering a feature that would let you set a background color, but we don't have a specific timeline on when that would be available. Something else that might be helpful is to know that a Title section is independent of the sections that follow it, so deleting the title section won't delete anything else. Just insert a new Title section before the existing one, and then remove the old one. ... View more
