Hi Michael -- Unfortunately it's currently a limitation with ArcGIS Online that you can't optimize web searches for the story map itself. If you add item information to the story map's item page (summary, description, tags, etc.), that will enhance the search results for the item page, but people will then have to open your story map as an additional step. You could embed or link to your story map from a web page you host on your organization's web site, then improve searchability of the web page where the story map appears. There are lots of examples of linked and embedded story maps in our gallery. Just scroll down a bit and choose "Linked" or "Embedded" from the "Format" filter in the sidebar. If you self-host the story map app on your own server we have an article on our developers' blog that describes how you can improve the searchabilty of your story map.

Hi Claire -- it's part of our long-term development plan to let you more easily mix and match parts of different types of story maps, but unfortunately your idea is a bit ahead of its time and we're not there yet. You could download the code for one or more story map apps and customize it, but that would require JavaScript development skill.

Hi Mayur -- You can find all the Story Map app code repositories on GitHub here. You'll find information in the READMEs about how to point an app to your ArcGIS Enterprise portal instead of ArcGIS Online. Owen

Mark -- I'd suggest you contact Google or Microsoft for help accessing hosted files directly via a URL. Otherwise you can certainly store mp3s on a standard web server or other file hosting service like Amazon S3.

Julia -- Could you please share the item id of the story map that is giving you trouble so we can investigate? You can copy the item id from the URL on the item page, for example:

Hi Mark -- Sorry you're having an issue with adding sound to your Map Tour. I see errors in the developer console when some of your sound files try to load. Are you sure you are using the correct, public link for your new sound files? The ones that are working include the .mp3 file name; for example: https://adminmyfsu-my.sharepoint.com/personal/mjs15m_my_fsu_edu/Documents/Ossining.mp3?slrid=bd9c459e-20dc-5000-3435-acb750a863e5 While the ones that are broken do not: https://adminmyfsu-my.sharepoint.com/personal/mjs15m_my_fsu_edu/EV_HqXZxgvxEtf_Ezj0DujkBDZH_D9gjvwTjhyCGR8BatQ?e=H1x1pK

Hi Julia -- I'm sorry you had trouble with your story maps. We haven't been able to reproduce any issues with saving stories. If your internet connection drops you should get a message that your story hasn't been saved. If you try to close a tab where you have unsaved changes in your story you should get a pop-up message that lets you return to the builder and save your changes. Did you have all four stories open at once (in different browser tabs)? If so, you'd need to make sure that you were saving each story individually. I hope this doesn't happen again, but if you are able to reproduce specific steps where your story appears to be saving but isn't please let us know.

GIS Administrator City of GP -- I branched your reply to this question to a this thread since it's a new topic, but that lost your reply to my message above. Here it is: Thanks for the prompt response. I tried the Stroy Map Shortlist app which is in beta. It allowed me to import more than 99 places from a map and automatically organized it according to my theme column. Does the story map places data gets automatically updated when the source map's hosted feature layer gets updated or do we have to reimport everytime there is a change? For example, on day one we have 106 playgrounds and we create a shortlist. On day 100 we get a new playground in a new neighbourhood or we update some images. Does the shortlist automatically pick these changes from the feature layer? Yes, the Shortlist will pick up changes to your point layer. Use the "as-is" option when creating your Shortlist from an existing web map with your places. See this FAQ for more detail.

Erin -- Thanks for the additional information. Currently the Cascade builder doesn't support adding hyperlinks to images in your story, but we are considering that for a future release. For now, if you are able to host your own web page, you could design whatever layout of images with links that you want and then embed that hosted page inside your Cascade story.

Hi -- Yes, currently Map Tour has a limit of 99 points unless you create your own icons, download the code, and host it on your own server. If you'd like to show more points I'd suggest using the Story Map Shortlist app, which lets readers more easily browse a larger set of places.

Hi Erin -- Thanks for your feedback. I branched your comment to a new thread since it sounds like a different question. Do you mean you want to use images from other websites in a Cascade story? If so, just get the URL of the image and paste it into the box in the Link to Content tab of the Media Picker. That will add the image to your story. If you mean something else, please provide a bit more detail about what you'd like to do.
