When I try to restore my WebGIS DR backup, the program reboots my entire server (ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1, Windows Server 2019 version 1809). Why does it reboot my computer? I turned on Debug level logging and the last few entries in the log file say: 2020-10-14 09:50:31 DEBUG [ForkJoinPool.commonPool-worker-3] com.esri.arcgis.webgis.util.WebGISUtil - The response for the url https://stoutesri2.datacenter.local:6443/arcgis/admin/backupRestoreInfo: {"incrementalBackupTimeStamp":0,"backupMode":"FULL","incrementalRestoreTimeStamp":0,"fullBackupTimeStamp":1599906696446,"fullRestoreTimeStamp":1599906696446} 2020-10-14 09:50:31 ERROR [main] com.esri.arcgis.webgis.service.impl.WebGISDRFrontController - Failed to validate the current Web GIS. com.esri.arcgis.webgis.WebGISException: Cannot get the configuration of the ArcGIS Data Store in the current Web GIS. at com.esri.arcgis.webgis.service.impl.WebGISDRFrontController.a(WebGISDRFrontController.java:852) at com.esri.arcgis.webgis.service.impl.WebGISDRFrontController.service(WebGISDRFrontController.java:108) at com.esri.arcgis.webgis.service.impl.WebGISDRManager.c(WebGISDRManager.java:187) at com.esri.arcgis.webgis.service.impl.WebGISDRManager.importWebGIS(WebGISDRManager.java:170) at com.esri.arcgis.webgis.client.WebGISDR.main(WebGISDR.java:103) 2020-10-14 09:50:31 DEBUG [main] com.esri.arcgis.webgis.service.impl.WebGISDRFrontController - Deleting the temp directory C:\Backups\WebGISSite1602694181243. 2020-10-14 09:50:31 DEBUG [main] com.esri.arcgis.webgis.client.WebGISDR - Exiting the WebGIS DR utility. com.esri.arcgis.webgis.WebGISException: Cannot get the configuration of the ArcGIS Data Store in the current Web GIS. at com.esri.arcgis.webgis.service.impl.WebGISDRFrontController.service(WebGISDRFrontController.java:111) at com.esri.arcgis.webgis.service.impl.WebGISDRManager.c(WebGISDRManager.java:187) at com.esri.arcgis.webgis.service.impl.WebGISDRManager.importWebGIS(WebGISDRManager.java:170) at com.esri.arcgis.webgis.client.WebGISDR.main(WebGISDR.java:103) Caused by: com.esri.arcgis.webgis.WebGISException: Cannot get the configuration of the ArcGIS Data Store in the current Web GIS. at com.esri.arcgis.webgis.service.impl.WebGISDRFrontController.a(WebGISDRFrontController.java:852) at com.esri.arcgis.webgis.service.impl.WebGISDRFrontController.service(WebGISDRFrontController.java:108) ... 3 common frames omitted 2020-10-14 09:50:31 ERROR [main] com.esri.arcgis.webgis.client.WebGISDR - Cannot get the configuration of the ArcGIS Data Store in the current Web GIS.

Share and download options—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation says that "After the package is uploaded, it is deleted from the staging folder." Unfortunately, I have >2 GB of leftover files from old publishing attempts. Is it safe to delete the contents of the SharingProcesses folder located inside the staging folder? Has anyone tried using the NRCan geolocation service at Geolocation Service | Natural Resources Canada ? It looks pretty promising because it doesn't consume AGOL credits like the World Geocoding Service and has an "open government" license. I'm mostly worried about throttling and the quality of the data. Does anyone know where the geocoding data comes from (e.g. is it the Canada land survey?)?

I know that the Coronavirus has greatly disrupted everyone and everything so I was wondering how long I should expect to wait for an initial (human) response to a new ESRI support case filed through My ESRI. In past years, I waited about 1 work day. Recently, I've had to wait much longer. What is the normal time now?

When WebGIS DR writes the backup to my company's on-premise file servers, the writes (512 bytes in length per Process Monitor) take a long time and WebGIS DR would take about 15 hours to write 4 GB, which is unreasonable. However, when I copy the file from ArcGIS Server's C drive to the file server using Windows Explorer, Windows Explorer writes 1,048,576 bytes at a time and finishes in a snap. How do I tell WebGIS DR to write more data each time? Some Statistics About Each WebGIS DR Write to BACKUP_LOCATION (all times are in seconds): BACKUP_LOCATION: Network file server 25th percentile 1.22E-02 median 1.24E-02 75th percentile 1.26E-02 BACKUP_LOCATION: Local C drive 25th percentile 1.50E-06 median 1.80E-06 75th percentile 2.60E-06 Finally, some statistics about copying the file from the C drive to the file server: 25th percentile 1.71E-01 median 2.29E-01 75th percentile 2.61E-01

When I select a layer in the Contents and then click on the "New Web Layer" button in the Share As category in the Share ribbon, Analyze says I have warnings because of the basemap. The errors are spurious because I only want to share the layer, not the basemap. When I right-click on the layer and click on the "Share As Web Layer" menu item, I get a different panel named "Sharing selected layer as a web layer" that correctly populates the Name and does not complain about the basemap. There is no way to get to the correctly-working user interface from the ribbon. Please add this hidden feature to the main ribbon to make it more discoverable. It's the same CNAME. You posted in https://community.esri.com/message/940443-re-rename-federated-ags-computer?commentID=940443&et=watches.email.thread#comm… with the ultimate solution to my trouble so I'll follow the instructions there. I'm glad that in the future, if my WA machine dies, I don't need to worry.

Thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten about: 5. Install your ArcGIS Enterprise software on it. If you’re using the ArcGIS Enterprise Builder, run the Setup and then the Configuration Wizard. Looks like I get to reformat my AGS machine.

You're right. I tried changing my properties file to use the same location for both SHARED and BACKUP and the format you described. Then, I ran C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Portal\tools\webgisdr>webgisdr --export --file "C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\geonet.properties" Then the backup ran OK. It looks like the SHARED_LOCATION was the problem because when I restored the original value, the utility died. The original value was: SHARED_LOCATION=C:\Backups The new (working) value is: SHARED_LOCATION=C:\\Backups

Disaster recovery and replication—Portal for ArcGIS (10.7 and 10.7.1) | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise says that I can have 2 redundant sets of servers for Enterprise with different machine names. I cloned my existing Enterprise-related servers and I'd like to tell my new copy of Portal to talk to the newly created copy of my ArcGIS Server machine. Where do I go to configure that? I hope I don't need to reformat all my new servers and install Enterprise from scratch.

I tried to follow the instructions at Unregistering ArcGIS Web Adaptor with Portal for ArcGIS—ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS) Installation Guide | Documentation for… . After clicking the Unregister button, I am redirected back to the same page and the web adaptor seems to still be registered. Is it safe to pretend that the Web Adaptor got unregistered and go to the Web Adaptor on a new web server and register it with Portal?

I tried: BACKUP_LOCATION = "C:\\Make Believe Folder" But WebGISDR says: Cannot access the location "C:\Make Believe Folder". And Process Monitor says that the program is trying to access the following path: C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Portal\tools\webgisdr\"C:\Make Believe Folder" I know the C drive is a little contrived. However, my real destination is likely going to be quite similar (e.g. "Z:\") because we use mapped network drives at my company. I'm using ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1 on Windows Server 2019.
