So it just started working again. Essentially I did some other things (create features, etc.) for a while and then went back to the cut poly task. Now it's working. It seems like a bug. ?

I am trying to cut a polygon, which is editable, and which is being separated into two distinguishable parts, when I suddenly start getting the error message "the cut polygons task could not be completed." There is no further explanation. I try saving and closing, reopening, multiple times, but still get error message. This is a poly that I've been cutting for hours (cutting pieces out a single poly, creating hundreds of smaller polys), so it has nothing to do with environment, editability, etc. Thanks!

I'm trying to open, in Pro, a map package created in Pro, .mpkx, but the program doesn't seem to recognize the file. (If I try to open from Pro, the folder shows up as empty, and the only options from the drop-down menu are .aprx and .pprx). If I try to open from file explorer, it asks me to go to the App store. Any ideas what's wrong? According to ESRI help pages it should be openable in the normal way. Thanks, Amy

Hi Katie, I don't have the option, there is no "enable editing" option under either the General tab or the Feature Layer Tab in the Settings section. I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by "web traffic". Right now the layer is not public... ? Thanks, Amy

I am the owner of the layer, but I can neither edit the attribute table in MapView nor access the Data Tab in Overview (it just thinks and thinks but never opens). Any ideas what's wrong? (I noticed someone mention enabling editing from a drop-down menu, but I can't see to find it.) Thanks, Amy

Right, that's the problem. I have different classification schemes for each layer. I've already gone ahead and redone the symbology from scratch, but in the future I will be sure to keep the same symbology from layer to layer. The only problem with that is that then you have an extremely long legend, when you may only have a few of the classes in each layer. Perhaps what I'm using this for is unusual and others don't typically come up against this problem.

Hi Dan, Yes, they are all symbolized on the same field. I am able to import symbology from a single layer, but if I try to do that multiple times, to get all the symbology from all the layers, it just replaces the most recently imported one. I am not familiar with saving to a .lyrx file, so I'll look into that. Thanks for your help.

I can't figure out how to import the symbology from multiple layers after merging them into one in ArcGIS Pro. Thanks, Amy

I was able to simply recreate the features in a new shapefile. Still, it's a weird problem, would love to know what the heck happened out of pure curiosity.

I'm still having this problem. I'll add some detail. This is what the symbol shows in the symbology pane: And this is what it looks like in the map : (Incidentally, when I made the symbol larger in the symbology pane, it only affected the original symbol size in the map: the conflated symbol stayed the same size.) The smaller symbol in the middle is actually another symbol I use for another layer, but that layer doesn't seem to be involved in this problem. When I change the symbol size in the symbology pane, only the correct symbol changes in the map - the conflated one stays the same size. When I create a feature, the conflated symbol shows up alone for a split second before the original symbol is added on top of it. This is what shows up in the top portion of the attributes pane when I select by clicking on the point symbol. But this is what shows up when I select by drawing a rectangle around the feature. And yet I only have one layer called Cobbles in the map. I can't think of anything else to add. If anyone can think of something I could check to figure out the problem, please let me know. I might just go ahead and delete the layer, recreate it, and start over, since I only have a few features in it. Thanks, Amy
