Thanks Dan - as usual, I came upon this the moment I posted the question. Trying it out now. Not sure what happens though if I define it as the wrong coordinate system. Guess I'll find out.

I'm trying to make a map package, and the error comes up "Layers dataset is using an unknown coordinate system." When I right-click and select "help" it takes me to an ESRI page (error 00047) where it first tells me I must Define the coordinate system of the layer's dataset. and then goes into detail on how to change the map's coordinate system, which is not what I need to do (the map is WGS 1984 UTM zone 10N). When I go into the source data in the layer properties, it does not indicate any way to change the coordinate system there. How can I do this? How can I know that it is the correct coordinate system? If I can't find the correct coordinate system, is that the end of my project? Thanks, Amy

Hello, I am having trouble copying and pasting features. When I move the copied feature to it's new location, the old feature disappears. It's still in the attribute table, but it seems to move to the new location along with the new, pasted feature. Even though only one feature is highlighted in the attribute table, they both seem to move. Also, is there any way to flip a feature? I have lots of identical rooms to digitize, all the same size, but with doors on either left or right, so I'd like to flip a feature with the door on the left to one with the door on the right. thanks, Amy

Thanks Dan - I had tried those things without success. Or maybe with success, since the next time I closed and reopened it worked. I have no idea.

OK, I'll look at those threads, thanks. (I did search for "attribute Table" but didn't get any relevant hits.)

Opening several projects that I haven't looked at for several months, I find that I can't open the attribute tables. From looking online I see that it is likely they are hidden off-screen somewhere, but I don't know how to get them back. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Amy

I see that ArcGIS Pro does not have the georeferencing tool. Are there any workarounds? I have a CAD map with no coordinate system defined, and no matter what coordinate system I try for the Map frame, it ends up in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

OK, so I do not see any legend items in my Contents pane. That is what was confusing me in the instructions. There is nothing to click on.

I am trying to get rid of the Field and layer names in the Legend. I did read the section of the online help about this, but could not find a solution other than converting to graphics. Is there a way to do this without converting to graphics?
