Hi Ben, Thanks for clarifying. Can you confirm that there is nothing at C:\arcgis\ArcTutor ? I tried again and saw the same message about 0KB, but I still see all the data appearing at this location after running Setup.exe

Hi Ben, Please double-click and run the Setup.exe shown in your last screenshot. You should then have data in C:\arcgis\ArcTutor\Editing

Hi Ben, Yes, it looks like you have the correct data: the 1.65 GB "ArcGIS Tutorial Data for Desktop" This file is actually an executable (ArcGIS_Desktop_Tutorial_Data_1041_151862.exe). So if you have not already, you'll need to double-click to install that before you have access to the data. I also ran the Setup.exe in Documents\ArcGIS 10.4.1\Tutorial. I'm not sure if that is necessary. Once you've installed the data, you can find what you need for your lesson in C:\arcgis\ArcTutor\Editing I would still recommend learning on ArcGIS Pro instead of ArcMap. You are welcome to do either of course, but I think if you are ultimately hoping to work in this field, ArcGIS Pro will be the more relevant skill. You can access lots of free learning materials at https://learn.arcgis.com/en/gallery/ In particular, I would get started with this learn path: https://learn.arcgis.com/en/paths/try-arcgis-pro/ Learn ArcGIS offers free trial accounts. Right now, we've extended this trial until the end of August, to assist students during COVID-19. This trial will give you access to ArcGIS Pro. https://learn.arcgis.com/en/become-a-member/ Thanks, Heather

Hi Ben, This post has a screenshot showing where you can download the ArcGIS Tutorial Data for Desktop, which contains the missing files you need for that tutorial: https://community.esri.com/message/764178-re-where-is-cprojectprojectmxd?commentID=764178#comment-764178 However, since you say you are a new user to ArcGIS, I would recommend learning on ArcGIS Pro instead. See the discussion here for some reasons why: https://community.esri.com/message/924577-re-better-to-use-arcmap-or-arcgis-pro-when-teaching-an-intro-to-gis-course-at-the-university-level?commentID=924577&et=watches.email.thread#comment-924577 You can find the equivalent tutorial for ArcGIS Pro here: Create points on a map—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation The data for the ArcGIS Pro tutorial is here: https://learngis.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=ad96530c93794597a45d5bfd0bea823d although the instructions also include steps on how to access it from within ArcGIS Pro. Good luck! Heather

Hi Justin, You can use a csv file. Here's an example: point, latitude, longitude, startDate, endDate A,45,45,1/1/2020,1/20/2020 A,45,46,1/5/2020,1/20/2020 B,46,45,1/1/2020,1/20/2020 B,46,46,1/10/2020,1/20/2020 C,47,45,1/1/2020,1/20/2020 C,47,46,1/15/2020,1/20/2020 You can draw this data on a map in ArcGIS Pro with the XY Table to Point tool: Then you can access Layer Properties > Time to enable that feature: A time slider should appear on your map. Click Play. There's also a Time tab on the ribbon where you can configure the time slider behavior. Visualize temporal data using the time slider—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

Hi Tina, I don't know the answer to this one, but it looks like there's a similar conversation here: https://community.esri.com/thread/238821-installing-untools-on-arcgis-pro-24-behind-a-corporate-firewall-proxy which might contain the info you need.

Check out the new lessons on Learn ArcGIS. Try a workflow or product that you aren't familiar with yet using a step-by-step tutorial based on a real-world scenario. Learn how to choose—or create—the right projected coordinate system for your map in Choose the Right Projection. Want to know more? The learn path Map Projections shares a variety of related resources. Two new lessons demonstrate the deeper insight you can gain from your data using space-time cubes: Identify Popular Places with Spatiotemporal Data Science, and Investigate Pollution Patterns with Space-Time Analysis. Try Get Started with ArcGIS Hub Premium to get community involvement in the planning of a new park. Hi Jason, Your map has no problems in it. You are just looking at a non-default view, which is causing the confusion. In the Contents pane to the left of the map, there are some icons at the top that control how your data is listed. You are currently looking at the Editing view of the Contents pane (pencil icon). Click the first icon to look at Drawing Order view and you will no longer see the errors. You would normally look at Editing view when you want to make changes to your data and need to find out which layers you are allowed to edit. The only two layers in your map so far are both basemap layers, and it is normal that these cannot be edited. Once you add other kinds of layers (for example, a roads shapefile) those will appear in the Editing view without warnings. You can read more about the different views in the Contents pane here: Contents pane—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation I work in the Drawing Order view most of the time, and only look at the others for specific workflows. For a beginner, I recommend staying in this view for now.

Thanks Robert! This looks like something that we can easily fix in the lesson for our next update. I'll send it on to the author. Thanks very much for taking the time to report it to us! Heather

Hi Robert, Thanks for your feedback! Commenting/questioning and software version are both things we are hoping to address in the future. For now, the best way to pose questions or provide feedback about a lesson is right here, on the Learn ArcGIS GeoNet space, or through a private email, which you can send via this form: https://learn.arcgis.com/feedback/ The lesson Georeference Imagery in ArcGIS Pro was written for ArcGIS Pro 2.5. I'm glad you were able to solve the problem on your own. We'd still like to hear about the issue (and your solution!) so we can prevent it for people doing this lesson in the future. Thanks! Heather

Try the new 30 minute lesson Get Started with ArcGIS Pro and get familiar with some common tools and practices in Pro while building a tourism map of Singapore. We haven't gotten rid of our existing Get Started lesson, it's just been renamed to Predict Deforestation in the Amazon Rain Forest. Not so new to Pro? The new lesson Georeference Imagery in ArcGIS Pro is another 30 minute workflow that walks you through this essential GIS skill. We use data from ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World in a lot of our lessons, because it's high quality, up-to-date, and easy to find. Want to leverage this rich resource for your own maps and analyses? Try out the new lesson Get Started with ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World. Ready to try Utility Network? The new lesson Get Started with the ArcGIS Utility Network is here to help you. There's also a learn path—Getting Started with the ArcGIS Utility Network—with even more resources to help you work with network data. The lessons on Learn ArcGIS offer step-by-step instruction with plenty of illustrations, and follow real-world GIS scenarios. It's a great place to get started with new products, features, and workflows. If there's something you'd like to see added to the Learn ArcGIS catalog, please let us know!

Hi Shawna, Could it be that all of the maps or scenes in this project are closed? If you open the Catalog pane, Project tab, Maps folder, you will find all the maps saved in that project and can open them from there.
