Sorry to leave this out there so long. At the time I tried to send the link via private message a couple of times but the message would not send for some reason. It looks like we are going a different route to our solution now, but I'll share the service URL until we remove it: http://arcgis-rcap-349459519.us-east-1.elb.amazonaws.com/arcgis/rest/services/MalvenEC2_for_AGOL_Test/FeatureServer Thanks Paul

The service was published on our ArcGIS for Server 10.1 on Amazon EC2 (was trying to convey Server-Hosted as opposed to AGOL-Hosted , maybe the wrong term).

I'm working with an ArcGIS for Server 10.1 - hosted Feature Server in AGOL. I was trying some edit testing and found that I can make changes to feature attributes but they don't keep, even after saving the map. When I try to create a new feature I get the prompt to click on map to create feature, but nothing happens when doing so. Has anyone else run into this sort of thing, or have suggestions on where to start? Thanks Paul

In my case the symbols are carried with the services, but I cannot change them (the Change Layer Symbols option is not available)...

This may not actually be an AGOL issue, but it is where I am running into it. So we have services running on ArcGIS Server, and would like to reuse them in ArcGIS Online so a) we are not using up extra server space or AGOL credits and b) so the data is still pointing to SQLEXPRESS via replication. I can bring in the service(s) to AGOL, set the pop-ups & editing cability, but not the symbology (Some symbols didn't transfer over properly, and some could use tweaking for mobile, etc). I'm wondering if there is a way to change these from my end/within, or for AGOL? Thanks! Paul

Hi j.quinn, I ended up painfully sticking with this, and found (after going in countless wrong directions) that the problem simply had to do with the Key Field input to the tool. The file names of the previous sets of successful attachments had been much more closely related to fields in the data with which I was using, and lulled me to overlooking that detail later. I believe all is well here now. Thanks so much for the reply! Paul

You're looking in the right place. However if it's not on the list then it is not currently available (not currently installed on your machine). Paul

Make sure the extension is enabled, then add the toolbar, both are named ArcPad Data Manager. Paul

ArcPad Data Manger does work with 10.1 I would guess that statement you quoted was a backward compatibility issue. Good Luck! Paul

Hi All, I had (quite happily) been using the 'Generate Attachment Match Table' in the 10.1 environment as part of the process to include attachments with some point data. For unknown reason(s) it seems to have just quit on me. The last number of times I've run the tool I just get an empty output warning along with error 000590 for an empty input or parameter of some sort. I've tried all sorts of different inputs and input locations with these same results. The last two times I tried running the process in ArcMap, the program crashed upon exiting(?). Production on this front at a stand-still I've come here to seek advise. What information would be most useful for troubleshooting this issue, and has anyone else discovered the same kind of problem? Thanks Paul

Hi all, Spent some time looking for an answer on my own but have come up shorter than hoped. Does anyone have recommendations, or suggestions on preferred tablet(s) for running ArcReader in the field? Thanks! Paul

It may simply be the sync settings for Mobile Device Center either within the mobile device or within the PC. I ran into a similar problem last year where one of our PCs replaced the new data with the old rather than joining it together, due to a simple overlooked setting. The data may be gone unless you are able to use a recovery program. Best, Paul

I am also working on some similar issues. Is there a central location somewhere that lists ALL of the (at least typical/standard) ArcPad extensions AND what their functions are? I started with the help topic Denise mentioned in this post, and began searching, but no luck yet. I'm not sure this will actually help my cause, but it would be good info to know nonetheless. Thanks Paul

Since the (latest?) ArcPad release last year, the user can view estimated positional measure of quality within the GPS Position Window, either inside the Quality tab, or within the Data tab if EPE/HPE/VPE are selected when tapping the positional measurement (instead of the default PDOP). However we just recently realized these are only displayed in meters (we thought if the options were set to 'ft' or 'projection' these would be in ft). This is actually a big difference for RTK users, and should probably be stated more obviously. While converting feet to meters really is not difficult, it would be good to skip that step completely to cancel out any user error in the field... Any suggestions? - Paul
