Hi, I had this idea, but I just can't figure out exactly how to execute it. I have a model with an iterator that separates a shapefile based on the Numerical Layer in the attribute table. What I ideally need is to name the layers based on the physical Name of the layer that is not in the attribute table, so I created a "dictionary" using a csv file that contains two fields, the numeric layer name that is in the attribute table and the physical name I eventually wanted in the file name. I just can't seem to figure out how to connect the two aspects of the model so it pulls from the data dictionary into the final file names. Below is the model, and the CSV Table.

What I had to do is create another model, because I got it somewhat working, but it would go through whole the model again for each iteration and take forever. The new one only has the "Iterate Feature Selection" as seen below, it uses the export/merge/projected shapefile from the other model. This seems to be working pretty well.

Hi, I have been attempting this model but I am having a little trouble with one part. The model exports from a SQL Spatial Database using Data Interop Extension , and merges them into one feature class. The problem I am having is that it needs to be split into separate shapefiles based on the "layer" field. I did some research and found that "Iterate Field Values" would be able to do this, but I cannot get it to work right. I attached the toolbox and the Model that I am referring to is M4ExportModel_Points2. I was wondering if anyone could see what I'm missing or what I am doing wrong.

I ran into an issue today with an Enterprise Geodatabase on SQL Server that I haven't run into before. It could have something to do with a configuration that I did not implement, but just wanted to make sure. I had a few users in an edit session, and for some odd reason they all lost Connection to the SQL Server at the same time, I'm having IT look into what happened. I think the Server Restarted randomly. Unfortunately they all lost the edits that they had made in that session while it got disconnected, it wasn't anything serious this time fortunately. They all received the same message, and even after They were able to reconnect in ArcCatalog, the layers still wouldn't redraw and they could not save their edits. Here is the error message below. My question is, is there a way I can configure the database. so that if this happens in the future they will not use the edits that they had made before the disconnect? I apologize in advance for my inexperience if it was something I missed in configuration.

When more than one person is editing in our SDE Database I am receiving this message. The edits are still being saved but I was wondering if there was a way to prevent this from happening. I just found it odd because none of the users are actually editing the same Feature Classes, just in the same Geodatabase.

I have set up an Enterprise Geodatabase on SQL Server. I migrated from a Personal SDE Geodatabase to an Enterprise Geodatabase using by importing and XML Workspace Document in order to have multiple editors. Everything seems to be working fine, the Edit Sessions are starting reasonably quickly and saving quickly, but the only thing that doesn't seem to be working is snapping. I checked all the common settings. All the snapping settings are turned on. The snap tolerance is set to the default 10 pixels which always seemed to work previously. I am at a loss at this point. The snapping is rather important due to the fact we are working on a Fiber Network. Thanks.

Hmm, that's not good. Did they mention that SDEBinary was going away in 10.3? We are using 10.2.2. SDEBinary seemed to be our best solution to the performance problems we were having. It may be a while until I update to 10.3 if this is the case.

Hi, I know this is a little old, but I was having some of the same issues as you were. I was wondering why you decided to migrate from SDEBinary to SDEGeometry. I did the opposite and migrated to SDEBinary and noticed significant performance improvement.

OK, I converted it from Multipoint to Point using the "Multipart to Singlepart" tool in ArcMap, and it seems to be working perfectly now. Thank You!
