Right-clicking on "AMETHYST" in the classes list and clicking "Remove" will remove it from the list and hide all "AMETHYST" locations on the map. If you still want the locations to appear on the map, just not with a specific "AMETHYST" symbology class, click "More" in the top left corner of the classes pane and select "Show all other values." Any classes not present in the unique values list will be represented by one symbol class (usually in a generic grey shade).

@RenéBurghardt I love seeing all the unique ways people come up with to solve the same problem. I always learn about a function in Pro that I have not used before, such as right-clicking to rotate the entire legend element. Thank you for sharing!

This is a great suggestion! I run into this a lot as well. Related: an option to preview maps/apps as a specific user would be useful, too. For example, if I want to send a link to a hub/site page that has a dashboard embedded in it to someone, I might remember to share the dashboard, the hosted feature layers and the web map that are within the dashboard, and the main hub/site with them, but forget to share the individual hub/site page. It would be nice to be able to preview the hub/site page under their user profile so I can catch that mistake before sending the email.

@GIS-Chops & @ShanaBritt - Thank you for those suggestions! And apologies for the delay in replying. Those are great options for ongoing projects and maps that are getting shared online. My workflows involve starting blank projects quite often, so I am hoping for an option that will allow the "match any part" choice to persist across all existing and new projects.

@ShanaBritt Thank you for this suggestion! I do see these options, and this will come in handy for any saved projects that I work in. A majority of my workflows are ad hoc projects that do not start from a consistent set of data sources, so I have Pro set to start "Without a project template." I tried to create a "dummy" template project that is simply a blank map where I have changed the "Layer Search" properties to "Match any part," but this switches back to "Match exact" when you close and reopen the project. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It was worth a shot! Again, thank you for the suggestion. I appreciate your help!

Currently, when you're using the "Layer Search" feature of the Locate tool, it defaults to "Match Exact." I typically want to use the "Match any part" option because I am more likely to remember a fragment of a feature's name than the exact punctuation, capitalization, etc., but I often forget to change the default setting before searching and I get no results returned on my first try. It would be great if you could change the default options in the preferences, or if Pro could remember your previous selection in the same local temp file that determines the layout of all of your windows/panes. @KoryKramer Thank you for pointing this out! I just updated Pro and tested this out with a hosted feature layer. The "Cancel" option worked perfectly when I selected a field with 500+ unique values. :cool_button: 👏🥇 Thank y'all so much for this improvement, esri team!

Is it possible to set preferences or defaults for the Locate tool? I typically want to use the "Match any part" option when using "Layer Search" because I am more likely to remember a fragment of a feature's name than the exact punctuation, capitalization, etc., but I often forget that the default is set to "Match exact" and I get no results returned on my first try. Locate tool - Layer Search options I've looked around in the options and haven't found anything. If you have any tips, I would appreciate it! Otherwise, I'll post this in the ideas section.

Love this idea! I cobble something together in PowerPoint (gotta work with what you've got 🤕😂) like this & add it to dashboards as an image sometimes: Dashboard with an example of a horizontally oriented legend Depending on the dashboard, this layout can be easier to read and a better use of the space than the vertically oriented option. Both formats have their merits for sure, but it would be great to have the option for a horizontal legend in ArcGIS Pro (and some of the online apps).

@DerekLaw Any update on whether this idea might be moved into the "Under Consideration" category? I know the post is old, but it is something that we still wrestle with using Dashboards on Enterprise 10.8.1. To expand on our use case a bit: we'd like to configure actions based on a map selection that would mirror the actions we have set up on a category selector (i.e. clicking on Alabama on the map would update indicators and filter charts just like selecting Alabama from a dropdown category selector). This does work currently, but our end users never realize they need to activate the "select" button first. Instead, they click on a state, see that it is highlighted in that familiar "selected" blue and a that a pop-up appears, and are confused when the indicators and charts do not update like they would expect. If there was a setting or control that allowed us to activate the "select" function on the map by default, that would be really helpful. Thanks for any update you can provide!

If you have an Advanced license, you can use the Join Features tool and select "Join one to many" in the join operation section. Otherwise, try the Make Query Table tool. Be sure to include the shape field from your polygon layer in the "Fields" section to create a feature layer output instead of a table. The result of the Make Query Table tool will be temporary, so export a copy of it before exiting your project to save it permanently.

Seconding Xander Bakker to say there is no current support, unfortunately. If you want to avoid having separate layers, you could create two expressions that would return each half of your if statement separately so you can apply HTML formats in the custom attribute display. First Custom Expression {expression/expr0} if ($feature.["FD_Status"] == 'Test') {
return '✓'
}
else {
return ''
} Second Custom Expression {expression/expr1} if ($feature.["FD_Status"] == 'Test') {
return ''
}
else {
return '☓'
} Then in your custom attribute display, you would enter this in the html editor: {FACILITYID}: {expression/expr0}<font color="#ff0000">{expression/expr1}</font> It's cumbersome, but it's the best workaround I've found to control colors/styles on specific features. P.S. I could have sworn I up-voted an ArcGIS Idea about including this kind of HTML in the AGOL attribute expression builder, but I can't find it now. If anyone remembers an idea like this, please post the link! Or create the idea and let us know so we can up-vote that one .
