@VinayBa, I tried to changed to your code but in the showResults function I am only getting field names in the results--not actual data. If I could get featuresets then maybe the symbols would at least show--as in your case. I may have to recreate this application--it has so many problems and for someone like me who is barely getting started there are too many fires to put out during the learning process. Thanks.

@Kait, Okay, I commented out the query.outSpatialReference = map.spatialReference;// line and then did the query and then zoomed out--and once I tried to zoom out of the extents of the US continental (the lower 48) I saw the same error as above: '_3eb undefined'; so even though the query.outSpatialReference is commented out I am getting the same error. I tend to agree with you and @Odoe that this is some extent issue? Thanks!

@Odoe, I just put the line query.outSpatialReference = map.spatialReference; before query.execute function and now get an error like '_3db undefined'; this error's stack seems to be from: require({cache:{"esri/layers/TimeReference":function(){define(["dojo/_ ... I did put a dojo.require("esri.SpatialReference"); toward the top of the javascript file--where other 'require' are but still the same error. I will research the cause of this latest problem... If someone knows then please save me some time--it's been enough struggle with this already. Thanks!

Hi, I have inherited an ArcGIS JavaScript API project. I am very new to this API in particular and ArcGIS in general. Currently, one part of the code is very problematic--populating the map with some query task's results. Here is a code snippet. In the debugger I can see the returned results, including geometry of individual result rows. But they never show up on the map. function showResults(results) {//This bounds the results into the data grid from doFind() function var symbol = new esri.symbol.SimpleFillSymbol(esri.symbol.SimpleFillSymbol.STYLE_SOLID, new esri.symbol.SimpleLineSymbol(esri.symbol.SimpleLineSymbol.STYLE_SOLID, new dojo.Color([98,194,204]), 200), new dojo.Color([98,194,204,0.5])); for(var i=0; i < results.features.length; i++){ //map.graphics.add(results.features); var graphic = results.features; graphic.setSymbol(symbol); map.graphics.add(graphic); } } What could be happening? I don't think posting thousands of line of code will help. But the debugger does show information for each row, such as: map.graphics.graphics.geometry[0]-> - _shape=null - type=point - x= 283265 - y= 3955658 - symbol [object data] and when I go to: http://myserver/arcgis/rest/services/NPS_Location_Search/MapServer/0 then, under Drawing Info, I can see the colored dot object for Symbol. I can give more info about how the various maps are laid out if that helps? Thanks! Meengla

Robert, Sure. I can send away my SearchWidget.xml file right away--but it will have to be private. So please figure out a way to share that file? May be you can send me a private message with your email in it? Sorry for the hassle. Thanks, Meengla

Robert, I had already tried the following line: if(attributes[hypercols.field] != "" && attributes[hypercols.field] != " " && attributes[hypercols.field] != null){ but found out that null values were indeed passing through (meaning, not caught in the 'IF' statement); and then I sometime saw error about 'reference to null' object which meant that attributes[hypercols.field object was null when I tried to gets its 'valueOf()' property. And hence I ended up with my code above. So far I don't see any problem with my code: All null values are caught now and don't show up in the grid. Thanks for your help again.

Robert, Thanks for your help. But I think the fix I applied in my code below handles 'null' just fine. Great widget, btw! Meengla

Never mind. I think I have this problem fixed by modifying the above code a bit:
if (attributes[hypercols.field]) {
if (attributes[hypercols.valueOf()] != null) {
attributes[hypercols.field] = String(pre + attributes[hypercols.field] + suf);
}
}
else {
attributes[hypercols.field] = "";
}

I think around line #620 of the SearchWidgetDGFloat.mxml there is the code which needs to be modified to disable links for null values.
if(attributes[hypercols.field] != "" && attributes[hypercols.field] != " "){
var pre:String = (hypercols.pre == "NA") ? "" : hypercols.pre;
var suf:String = (hypercols.suf == "NA") ? "" : hypercols.suf;
attributes[hypercols.field] = String(pre + attributes[hypercols.field] + suf);
}

Robert, I have downloaded the latest Enhanced Search Widget a couple of days ago and it works fine. Our code base is still pre-Flex Viewer 2.4. I am not sure we should over-write the code base without having to overwrite some of the custom .mxml changes we have done. With that said, we need to have the Grid to not show any links if the data is null. Now, I have deployed the latest Enhanced Search Widget to the pre SFV 2.4 code base but we still have the problem of Grid showing the links even if there are null values. For example: <field name="LEASES" alias="Leases" hyperlinkgridfield="true" hyperlinkaliastext="View Leases" linkprefix="http://pathtotheserver/" linksuffix="" gridfieldonly="false"/> I suspect it is the linkprefix which is making even null values to appear non-null in the Grid? Any idea as to how to fix that? Thanks!

Tom, I don't know if I can get to turn on the Verbose Logging without too much hassles--not my server. But if the issue can be fixed in the next version of Arc GIS Server then we can wait till then. Thanks! Meengla

Hi Tom, Here is what the Flex debugger's console says. Copied/Pasted after removing a chunk of coordinates--it was otherwise a very large .txt file. Again, the error happens when we get a large number of data rows (160+ or may be lesser) in the enhance Search Result Widget. Zooming out fully without any large result set does not cause the problem. Anyway, here it is. Thanks! Hi, We got the Print Widget to work mostly without issues. One problem we are seeing is that when the Enhanced Search Widget returns a lot of records (say, 156) then we see a '500 error' upon trying to use the Print Widget. We have no problems with records upto 62 or perhaps some more than that. Could this be some kind of caching issue on the ArcGIS Server? Or some time-out happening? Attached screen cap shows the error. Thanks! Meengla

Hi Crionopa, Sorry for this late response--somehow I am not getting email notifications of responses even though I subscribe to Topics. Hmmm. I actually ended up not implementing the InfoWindow based approach because it was not suitable for my needs (interactivity was needed in my case). Instead, I now have an .mxml file which shows up (as a popup) when mouse is clicked over a Search Result item. This suits me better than the Enhanced Search Widget or the InfoWindow. Thanks, Meengla
