Feature Classes are stored in the form of Tables only at the database end. So you should be able to query them the same way as you normally query for database tables. Try adding the schema owner name and then check: SELECT * from data_owner.myFCName

The ArcGIS resources mention no such limitation related to the size of the Tables or the Database size itself, so there should not be any limitations as such. Supported databases—Insights web help Use tab | ArcGIS Enterprise It doesn't actually depend on the version of SQL Server, rather the edition of SQL Server matters, as SQL Server Express itself has a size limitation of 10 GB (Esri or Insights has nothing to do with this size limitation). I have connected to Databases larger than 10GB and it worked fine. Do remember, that Insights cannot connect to an Enterprise SQL Server geodatabase. It supports simple databases only. I would suggest that you test on a Testing Environment first and then get back here if you face any roadblocks or performance issues.

Yes, if you take a full database backup then everything inside the database will be backed up and restored on the new database as it is. Oracle provides you the option to backup and restore only objects that you need, however if you need everything, Full backup should be what you would want.

This worked, however my assumption was that the upgrade should always work when connected as 'sa' or any sysadmin login. Which didn't happen in this instance, not sure why.

Take a look at the SDE_states table as well. Whenever an user will be in an editing session, there should be an open state present in that table. Its easy to identify the user from there as well.

I am not completely sure if the Query Table is a supported Data Source. 00004: Layer's data source is not supported—Documentation | ArcGIS Enterprise Unsupported data sources Suggested alternatives ArcInfo coverage Convert the data to feature classes in a geodatabase. CAD Import CAD content into a geodatabase feature class. Excel file Generate features for each Excel spreadsheet and load the resulting feature classes into a geodatabase feature class. ArcIMS feature service Load the original data source into a geodatabase feature class. In-memory feature class Save in-memory data as a feature class in a geodatabase. Also, Make Query Table—Data Management toolbox | ArcGIS Desktop The layer that is created by the tool is temporary and will not persist after the session ends unless the document is saved. So this "maybe" the issue.

Will suggest contacting Esri Tech Support, so that they can take a look at the concerned File gdb and analyze it. We here can just guess what is wrong with it without taking a look at the geodatabase itself!

Personally I have not observed any difference as such, other than the faster performance with Truncate Table tool.

The Bug that you are talking about, that has been fixed a long time back. Replication was the best solution to your scenario, however as I mentioned, if that is not what you are comfortable with, then go for other solutions. How many records do the FCs have? If they are not too big, then you can automate Truncate of the FCs(basically deleting all records from the FCs in the File gdb) and then load the updated data from the sde FCs.

You should think about Replication...which will save you the time spent behind deleting and copying the FCs everyday. If Replication is not what you want, then why not simply delete the Old File gdb and create a new File gdb with same name everyday, then copy the FCs. Hardly a minutes work.

From the images, it does not seem that both the File Gdbs have the same amount of data in them. U seems to have 2435 files as per your image, whereas U2 has only 116 files! Analyze it more carefully and check what these are pointing to..

If migrating to Direct Connections is an option, you can create new Direct Connections to the Enterprise GDBs and then resource the MXDs to those new connections (without having to open the existing MXD). This should get you going for the time being. arcmap - How do I change the data source for all layers in an MXD? - Geographic Information Systems Stack Exchange I am not completely sure, but I remember an issue like this which was logged as a Defect (may have been fixed by now), however I cannot find that right now. Maybe someone else may point to that.
