Hi all, Sorry for the lack of information on this. We want to add label clustering for 4.x (we are expecting that cluster support will come in either 4.14/4.15), but I'm not sure if it will make it into the initial release.

Sorry Caleb Schwind, this is a known regression in 4.13. It should be fixed if you point to js.arcgis.com/next (see GitHub - Esri/feedback-js-api-next: Try out the next release of the ArcGIS API for JavaScript and share your feedback. B… ). EDIT: Looks like there is still one outstanding issue with graphics layer highlight being worked on now.

Hi all, This behavior is definitely not correct. If you are experiencing this issue can you list what CPU and dedicated GPU (if it exists) you are using? We will try and get access to a machine where we can reproduce the issue. Or you can post the DirectX Diagnostic report: 1. Press Windows Key + r 2. Type in dxdiag -> OK 3. Click "Save All Information"

Hi Alex Zotos! Yes this change was made in 4.13 for a few reasons, one is the performance as you already mentioned. The second was that due to some improvements in the label fade logic, we increased the number of instances in which we are able to fade labels in/out (e.g., on rotation). With too many labels, this became quite distracting. The last reason was because we received some feedback that the labeling was too cluttered. Exposing this as a configurable option is a good idea, and we'll look into seeing what we can do.

Sorry Darren Breen, we are still planning to document the spec, but we want to at least have a ready built parser for folks to use that we can share. We need to do a little bit of refactoring to pull this out of the API.

Hi Matthew Hamilton-Smith We've definitely heard from other users that they would also like an option to disable label deconfliction, and hope to be able to add this in the near feature (within 2-3 releases).

Hi Imra Shaheen this sounds like the Intel graphics bug. Does the affected machine have an Intel chip with integrated graphics (HD3000/4000)? See this thread for more information https://community.esri.com/thread/237519-sketch-and-measurement-graphics-not-showing-up-after-412-update We've installed a workaround for 4.13. Can you try out /next and see if you still see the issue? GitHub - Esri/feedback-js-api-next: Try out the next release of the ArcGIS API for JavaScript and share your feedback. B…

Hi Tom, PBF is just a serialization format like JSON. The VectorTile pbf spec (Mapbox) is different from Esri Feature PBF spec in terms of how the payloads of vector/feature data are structured, though they both are PBF encoded specs. To request that a query use the PBF format, you just need to include f=pbf instead of f=json. This will return a binary payload. Currently only the /query endpoint I think has support for PBF, and this requires quantization. To see some example usage, you can look at the queries being made by the 4.x JSAPI which will use PBF if the server supports it. For instance, take a look at this sample: ArcGIS API for JavaScript Sandbox Example query: https://services.arcgis.com/V6ZHFr6zdgNZuVG0/arcgis/rest/services/NYC_Footprints_fgdb/FeatureServer/0/query?f=pbf&geomet… We can find out that the service supports f=pbf by looking at the metadata for the associated service: https://services.arcgis.com/V6ZHFr6zdgNZuVG0/arcgis/rest/services/NYC_Footprints_fgdb/FeatureServer/0?f=json { ... "supportedQueryFormats": "JSON, geoJSON, PBF", ... } Currently it's mostly just internal clients using this for now, but we have plans to document the spec itself.

Sorry Yemi Kudaisi, I don't think we really have a great way of doing this yet, but we have been prototyping some animation effects internally. We don't currently have a timeline for this though as we are focusing on some high priority items for the next couple of releases (e.g. clustering).

Tom Neer I know there were some plans to create a repository detailing the Esri feature tile pbf format (it's a bit different from vt-pbf), but I don't think it's been released yet. I'll check on the status and get back to you.

Hmm probably something like this would not be in the initial release, but we could look at adding this in a subsequent update. Can you talk a little bit more about what specific interaction you are looking for? Would this be the ability to tab between/expand details for different clusters using the keyboard?

Thanks Roman, that helps narrow things down. I'll keep note of your machine, and if we see others running into the same issue on that device we'll try to get access to one and see if we can reproduce. It may also help to check and see if your drivers are up to date. Going to dig through and see if we've encountered any similar reports.

Hi Roman König sorry for the confusion on this. You are right that normal usage of TileLayers should not be flooding the console with errors. However, one problem with requesting blankTiles is that if a user starts zoomed in, then you might run into a situation where no data is displayed despite there being data in a parent tile. We will be fixing the logic to properly request parent tiles when data for a tile at a given LOD is missing, and also avoid flooding the console with these errors. We're making an internal issue (#22922) to track this, not sure that this will make it in 4.13, but we can definitely address for 4.14.

One more thing Roman König, if you have a large number of tabs with the API open at the same time, that can result in rendering contexts getting lost and various WebGL errors popping up; the max number of WebGL contexts is unfortunately shared across all tabs in the browser.
