The script is set to run once a week and will run late at night unless I force the script to run. Also, this process all happens on a machine we call the maintenance server. no one is accessing anything on this machine, I am the only one running the process.

1) this is a production environment a. this process passed in our own internal environment and pre-Production environment. b. same script, same data 2) we have always used compact cache 3) we build the cache manually first within ArcMAP using GP Tools a. once this process is completed, we run the script to only update tiles where data has changed dave

Jonathan, we are seeing this issue again. our python script is running the ManageMapServerCacheTiles GP Tool to rebuild new tiles based upon a delta check that we do to see what data is new. Dave

Further Info... i attempted to publish another service with the same data and cache layers 1-8 (very little data, only a few mb) 1) publish service to the server - success 2) cache levels 1-8 after publishing - failure a. it appears that i have lost the ability to cache anything at this point in time. dave

All im currently running arcgis desktop and server 10.5.1 and recently began the process of caching a large statewide map service. we were well into level 19 when we had to stop the process due to machine issues. once those issues were resolved we were able to restart the caching process. unfortunately we have run into some pretty major issues: 1) caching process does not completely start a. the caching tools do not spin up for server 2) manage map server cache status does not run a. again proper gp tools are spinning up im not really sure what has caused this, started working with Esri support and dont seem to be getting anywhere. this cached map service is 288gb and take 2 weeks to complete, we were 20gb from completing the process and honestly starting over isnt an option right now. the process is just stuck like this and never gets anywhere, it was smart enough to catch that i deleted the first bundle from level 0, it wont even spin up a caching tool to cache the level 0. any help would be greatly appreciated! dave

Changing the server protocol from "HTTP and HTTPS" to "HTTPS ONLY" fixed it for me. I find it a little strange that this fixed things...as most fixes I have found Esri are a bit perplexing. dave

getting this same error for the first time in 10.5.1 I have a map service I want to publish that has both gis data and a mosaic dataset(MD). If I take the MD out and just publish the gis data it goes through fine and if i take all the gis data out and just publish the MD it works fine. For some reason when i try to publish the service with the two together i get that error. we have published this service just fine in the past, the only difference is now is this is the first time trying to publish the service after upgrading to 10.5.1. thanks dave

I couldn't agree more with this recommendation! currently, there is no clean organizational structure within AGOL, yes its great to add groups but like in my situation i need multiple groups that fall within a master group. I have groups for other projects that will now be lumped in with 50+ other groups and will just make it hard to navigate between them all. I'm not sure if this exists or not, I haven't seen it anywhere, but it would be nice to be able to create groups in a batch process. in my case, all the groups will have the same settings, just different names. I personally feel like there has been a lot of "fluff" added to AGOL lately (just my 2 cents), I think its time for some great organizational updates to take AGOL to the next level. dave

not 100% if that would work as all the end users would be outside of our organizational account... my original thought is creating the individual groups and then inviting them into each respective group. dave

All, I was hoping to maybe get some insight from other users who may have encountered this same situation... we are in a project with 50 different end users who will need to see a dataset that is unique to their own location and these datasets would be updated periodically. has anyone tried somehow organize 50 different groups within AGOL for these individuals to see their own results and no one else's? I really like the ease of use when it comes to AGOL vs other solutions, especially for those with not a lot of GIS background, but it seems like an upfront organizational nightmare with that many different datasets. thanks in advance dave

All, i was curious if anyone else has attempted to plot the locations that are logged via the arcgis server log for a locator service? i see that our locator has the location info all logged and would love to see that info plotted spatially as close to real-time as possible. wasn't sure if anyone has attempted or not. dave

yes we are now still encountering the same issue after rebuilding in 10.5.1, also when it starts feeding out these errors the server goes into a funky state... Task Manager Services = ArcGIS Server = Stopped ArcGIS Server web interface = Started Task Manager Details = ArcSOCs Running its almost like it doesn't know what to do, not in any hurry to call Esri support because I know they will just tell me its a bad install and I should reinstall. which is in my mind crap and equates to: sorry we have no clue whats going on. its like taking your Nintendo cartridge out and blowing on it and putting it back in and hope it works. dave
