All, just a general best practice question for everyone, any and all input is welcome! If a project has been built on Machine A that is within Environment 1 and published as a service. Can the mxd and associated data just be copied over to Machine A within Environment 2 and be published as a service? or would it be best practice to copy over associated data and rebuild the mxd before publishing? thank you all for your input on the matter! Dave

All, I have attached an image showing the logs for our server install, I think this may be some sort of permissions error but not sure.... has anyone else encountered this issue? Also, I noticed the SampleWorldCities service has a continual status of "stopping" thanks Dave

i am very curious why the site config wouldnt just load automatically like it normally does after you authorize your server install? im curious as to why it was able to set up and config in this alternate route? i actually had esri support stumped with this one on the phone for about 30min, supposed to talk to them again so i will have to fill them in and see if maybe they have an explanation. thank you all again for your help! dave

ALL, well this was interesting... after looking at a few things, the problem was resolved by accessing the server site config via: http://localhost:6080/arcgis/admin which prompts the same steps to configure your site, just not in the pretty way youre used to when installing server. you will also have to go in and configure your directories accordingly once you sign into manager. thanks all for the help and hints! All i was just curious to hear from those who updated from 10.2.X to 10.3... Instead of just reading what was new in 10.3 on the web, I was curious to hear from those who actually upgraded what you felt the greatest benefits were seeing from the upgrade with desktop and server? thanks for all your input! Dave T.
