I am using the "Georeference" functionality in ArcGIS Pro version 2.8. After importing my control points from a previous session of ArcGIS Pro, the graphical representation of the control points appear as large B's instead of crosshair symbols. I have included an image of what I see. I was wondering if I could change these symbols to a different symbol? It doesn't appear that I have control over these. Thanks, Roland

It is hard to tell what is going on without having a copy of the data... but I suggest renaming the field "Geographic Name Area" to Geographic_Name_Area... to eliminate the spaces. Also, there is an Excel to table tool in ArcGIS Pro that might work better for importing your Excel spreadsheet. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/conversion/excel-to-table.htm Best Wishes, Roland

This would be an excellent feature for when I just want to screen capture my map at high resolution.

Google Earth can open shapefiles. You might have better luck with that approach. There is a limit to the number of polygons though. You can then save the layer from Google Earth as a KML file.

I agree with Matt that that it would be helpful if the symbology workflow could be improved to be more like ArcMap.

Hi Christine, I would give this recovery tool a try to see if it repairs the FileGeoDatabase. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/data-management/how-recover-file-geodatabase-works.htm Without knowing more of the details, it is difficult to pinpoint the problem. Thanks, Roland

Hi Kurt, We created a versioned database on ArcGIS Server, that connects to an ArcGIS Portal (Enterprise config). We then ask our editors to zoom to their area and then use the "Download Map" option in Pro to take their edits offline, and, after editing, they can then "Sync" their edits to a version that is tied to their username. When the editors tell me that the edits are complete, I can "Reconcile" and "Post" them to the "Edit" version of the geodatabase... when all data have been edited by all users, I can then post to default. There is a level of trust that editors won't edit content outside their jurisdiction. That is how we do it... and I am sure there are other ways... but this was going to take the least amount of admin. I hope this helps you. Best Wishes, Roland

Thanks again Kory, I took a look at the bug report posting. I only wish that they would raise the severity level from medium to something more severe. This could be a serious issue for some GIS users that aren't aware of this. Again, I really appreciate your input. Roland

Hi Kory, Thanks for posting the video. I agree that it would be good for the raster team to resolve this bug. If they have further questions about how I think this should be resolved, I would be happy to work with them to make this right. Roland

Thanks Kory, I am just seeing that this post received new activity. Yes, the "Reverse ordering" (under More) option is reversing the order in the legend but not staying in sink with the legend patch colors... so it appears to be broken... right clicking on the "Color" doesn't resolve the issue.

Hi Dan, Hopefully Esri tech support monitors these postings because this is a serious problem that will impact a lot of ArcGIS Pro users. I am pretty low on the chain of command to access Esri tech support directly, so this is the most efficient way for me to post significant issues like this to the GIS and Esri community. #Esri #TechSupport

This is a screen capture of a map with a raster in ArcGIS Pro 2.5.1. I clicked the circle area in the upper right of the map... and the pixel value shows it should be the darker colors (76.7)... I know that the reverse ordering bug was allegedly fixed in this release (Esri: “BUG-000128246), but I am still seeing problems with it. Thanks, Roland

Hi Brian, Yes, Python is often an option. I created many of these bird atlas maps using and automated Python approach. In this particular case (because there were about 12 wading bird species), I ended up creating individual maps, using custom symbols. There have been many changes/improvements with the software over the past year, so I suggest working with ArcGIS Pro version 2.5.0, as it is the most recent. All The Best, Roland
