Thanks @rarku for the update, but so disappointing to hear. @Wei_Ying are the Experience Builder bookmarks known for current bugs with other widgets (legend/layers?). Thanks

Hi, Was anything resolved on this. I am also having this issue. I have bookmarks set up and in addition to layers disappearing (without turning them off) the legend items will also disappear within the same map moving to a different bookmark. What's even more confusing is when I go back to the first bookmark that worked, zoomed to extend, map layers showed, legend items showed....after going to another bookmark where maybe there are aren't layers in that extent (I'm showing survey data) the legend items disappear. Anyway then going back to the first bookmark my legend is blank and so are the map layers that had originally appeared. I thoroughly confused on why this is happening. I also have noticed that if I go into the layers widget layers are turned off that had just been on in a previous bookmark extent, yet I didn't turn them off. This has to be a bug. I really liked the bookmarks, but may have to remove if it is just causing confusion to the viewers well and myself! This is the EB with bookmark/layer widget issues. Thanks, Kathy

Hi, We are using Field Maps and pre-defined offline areas for aerial survey data collection. It is essential each survey day we start with a blank map (no data collected from the previous survey is shown). I did submit an enhancement last year at this time when we were using Collector. The enhancement is ENH-000130176. Currently the only way to get a 'blank' map each day is to download a new offline map that has the feature layers filtered in the map to not show features (CreationDate in the last minute). It would be so great if there was an option to sync data to AGOL and then not have the features remain on the device. This functionality seems to be in QuickCapture where there is a check that the data is synced and then leaves the device. Having this functionality would eliminate the need to download a new offline map each day for surveying. We are limited in some areas by internet for field crews where this is almost a deal breaker. I have mentioned I am currently involved in migrating ArcPad projects to Field Maps and when I tell folks they need to download a new offline map each day they are really surprised this is needed since they don't need to do that currently to work offline with ArcPad. Again another loss in functionality 15 years later migrating from ArcPad. Below is the text from the Enhancement Case: Tech Assist was logged, the Collector team recommended writing an enhancement request for the ARCADE team. The user has a team of field workers that are conducting aerial surveys using Collector for ArcGIS. Their desired workflow is to start each new survey with a blank map (no features), collect data, sync, and then have those synced features removed from the Collector map. Currently the user has created views to filter data within the last 8 hours, but this doesn't allow for the points to be filtered after they are synced. This creates a problem for the user because it makes their work difficult when the map is crowded with many points and features. ---- Thanks for your consideration, Kathy

Please add freehand line drawing too!! I'm working with folks that are converting from ArcPad to Field Maps and they could draw freehand lines in ArcPad and now I have to tell them you need to add vertex by vertex in technology 16 years later. The users have apple pencils is there any additional functionality they can use now with the apple pencil and current Field Maps line drawing? Also isn't GeoTrace and geoshape available in Survey123 the form app that would allow the freehand drawing for lines and polygons? Why isn't this available in Field Maps? Thanks for your consideration! I have folks excited to use the new apps and then have to break the bad news on limited functionality compared to what they have set up in ArcPad.

Hello, I'm not sure when 'Shared Update' Groups came online, but today is the first time I've had an AGOL group get labeled with this. The settings I've previously set for other groups is with membership only available to the organization and then the following. This group is for use with ArcGIS Field Maps in which members need to edit the feature layers. We also need the ability to manage offline map areas. I am able to do this in other established groups with folks editing data and web maps shared to the group where I manage offline map areas. I have created/deleted this new group I would like to create many times already this morning trying to figure this out. How can I have a web map shared to a group where group members can update the items in the group and I can also manage the offline map areas for use in Field Maps? I have been doing this for other groups over the last year without this 'Shared Updates' label and offline map areas? Today is the first time I've received this new 'Feature disabled' notice. So I'm supposed to unshare and reshare each time I want to create a new offline map? What is going on? Thanks in advance for your help, Kathy

I wanted to provide an update to the errors/issues we were having in downloading are predefined offline maps. I submitted a tech support case with the entire log provided above. Tech support provided that Esri operations team at the time of the errors above were investigating intermittent issues on the hosted services that included the cluster the services we have stored in AGOL. I had looked at AGOL system status at the time but it showed everything as green. I was told the intermittent issues have been resolved and our maps are downloading. It would be so beneficial to have some error that helps determine the issue if it is a AGOL server issue. Thanks

Hello, I am writing to ask if others have experienced the map in Field Maps freezing up to the point you can't click or move. On the screen it shows a wheel spinning as if its trying to do something. I assist others with using these apps and today as someone was preparing to fly an aerial survey the map froze up. When they powered down and reopened the app the map was again responsive. This has been also reported by four other users all using separate and brand new iPad Pros. The users have downloaded pre-defined map areas and I'm trying to have them take note when this happens what they were doing. Luckily it has been pretty sporadic, but still for aerial surveys this is troubling. If surveyors had collected data and the map/app froze up and they powered down will these lose local edits? Thanks in advance, Kathy

Hi Paul, Thanks for submitting this BUG and sharing. I had the same thing happen to me and it was so nerve wracking trying to figure out what happened. I filed a tech support case, but in the process we weren't able to reproduce the BUG, but I think it was now because we weren't using a layer that editor tracking enabled for our test. This morning I had the same thing happen when I used an arcade expression to update a field in a view. I am simply trying to use a field to symbolize by the number of attachments and was using arcade for the Photo Count field based on the ArcGIS Blog article. In the process of using this on a feature layer from last year all the records then updated to myself as the Creator, Editor, and dates!!! This was really disturbing and luckily we had a local backup. Get the number of attachments
Getting the total number of attachments per feature comes in handy when trying to identify what assets might be missing visual information, such as photos to support asset condition surveys. The fastest way to get this information is to chain the new Attachments() function with the Count() function.
//returns the number of attachments per feature
Count(Attachments($feature)) I'm not sure if SQL can be used in get a feature count. Anyway thanks for the update and reporting the bug. AGOL has an incredible amount of bugs. Thanks, Kathy

Hi Aaron, Thanks for helping to troubleshoot the issue with the API and the tracks layer. I will try the alternative workflow you suggested above. It is frustrating the tracks are so restricted on so many fronts. Internally we are trying to transition ArcPad projects that folks have been using for aerial surveys for a number of years. These projects use an external GPS with the ArcPad project and all the points collected in the project get attributed with the device altitude whether they are offset or directly under their location. The project was customized and also provides survey estimates even (offline calculations) so when they land they have already previewed their biomass estimates. Now 15 years later we are having a really hard time getting the same functionality. While I know the ArcPad project wasn't a simple application to set up, it was still possible. Now I have to tell these same folks that they now need to pay for the tracker extension, which isn't a large cost, but still. In addition they need to wait to return to the office to then run some post-processing scripts. The folks are excited to upgrade their hardware from the laptops and small pop-up boxes in ArcPad to the new Field Maps, but at the same time they are taking a loss on their functionality in much older software. That's my two cents, its a frustrating journey. Kathy

Hi, Thanks for the response. Its been probably 5 weeks since I've updated ArcGIS Pro, but currently I'm using 2.7.0. I know I have never used the API for deleting tracks before, but I will look into it. It would be much easier to be able to delete tracks in Pro. My instance yesterday is folks are still learning to use the apps and a user yesterday forgot to disable tracks after they completed their survey and did not want the tracks after that to show up or be recorded. We are currently downloading the track points from surveys and appending each day's tracks to a public view so we can provide the public where the aerial surveys are occurring each day. In the case yesterday the user didn't want the extra tracks to show on the public view nor are they needed to be kept in the tracks service. I have had a lot of errors including today unrelated to tracks that I'm starting what used to work and what didn't. I will look into the API, but its so nice in Pro to simply select the tracks I want to delete and then delete versus having to look up which IDs they are seems way more tedious. Thanks, Kathy

Hello, For the last week folks have been downloading an offline map and it has been working just fine between multiple people downloading the same map. Starting yesterday we are now having issues with multiple offline maps that had previously worked and now fail. I feel like this is related to an AGOL maintenance or updated. Yesterday I had an issue with an offline map that worked when I downloaded it, today I try and download the same one and errors. Then randomly now it works. I need help tracing down the issue. Below shows part of the troubleshooting log within the Field Maps app. The last error is related to a layer that is for reference but not for editing. 3/19/21, 8:12 AM FAILED for B999F1BB-A6E1-4C35-B709-3D1817755350 with error: Error Domain=com.esri.arcgis.runtime.services.error Code=502 "An error occurred." Hello, Yesterday and today when I have tried to delete track points in ArcGIS Pro connecting to the tracks service. This is something I have done before and not too long ago. Currently when I delete selected track records in ArcGIS Pro, the records disappear, I save the edits, and right after that the track points reappear? I have tried this is several times yesterday and already today. All I can figure is there was an update and now we can't delete track points. Hopefully this is a bug. Thanks for your help, Kathy

Hi, We are using Field Maps for aerial surveys and the altitude value of the points collected is very important in survey estimates. We understand that points collected directly at your location are attributed with the GPS metadata, but if the points are offset no metadata is included. As a post-survey work around I need to determine the altitude from the nearest tracker points for all offset points. We have been trying to use the arcgis API for Python to go through each point in the survey point feature layer, find the nearest track point and altitude value, then update the survey point altitude with the nearest track point altitude value. Similar to this post, we are getting the Exception: Invalid format of input layer. Below is an example of the code we have tried. According to the api-reference, the input types should accept simple point coordinates and the lat., long. pair should be fine, but this does not work. Is there a way to get the input to accept a feature or a feature converted to a point geometry object? Can someone please assist! tracks_lyr = FeatureLayer(tracks_svc)
i = 0
for key, value in calc_dict.items():
while i in range(len(calc_dict.items())):
print(i)
for point in key:
oid = point.attributes['OBJECTID']
print(oid)
x = point.geometry["x"]
y = point.geometry["y"]
pt_coord = (x,y)
tracks_nearby = find_nearest(analysis_layer = pt_coord, near_layer=tracks_lyr, measurement_type="StraightLine", max_count =3)
print(tracks_nearby)
try:
for r in cur:
with arcpy.da.UpdateCursor(herring_svc, ["ESRIGNSS_ALTITUDE"]) as cur:
if r[0] == 1500:
print(r[0])
cur.updateRow(r)
else:
print("pt has altitude value of " + str(r[0]))

print("Error updating point: " + str(e)) Thanks in advance! Kathy

Hi, I have been working this past week trying to configure the widgets in the EB I have and I'm struggling to get the EB to look good at all the resolutions that are shown. I am using a custom full page layout and I honestly feel like it would be so much better to be able to configure for the different desktop, tablet, and phone options. For example for the desktop there is a very big different in resolution between 1920 and 1024 and I would rather configure widgets for 1920 and then 1024 then try to make them work for the entire desktop range. This was actually my understanding at first, but then a coworker explained that's not how it works. I have went back and forth on using % and px getting rather frustrated. I have a menu, text, and embed widget and I would like them to stay aligned. Currently I'm not using a column or row layout widget but maybe that is the solution for them maintaining alignment on different screen sizes? Some examples or more documentation for this would be great on the resources tab. Thanks, Kathy
