Hola Sandy, I wanted to see if you are still seeing the issue posted. Are you creating your pmf file on the server (network location) where everyone else can open the pmf file, where the performance is very slow for them. I would suggest to creating the mxd in the same location, along with having the source data also in the same location, and then build your .pmf file. Please let us know if this helps or you are still encountering the same issues. Gracias, Sandy!

Hola Lisa, I am including some documentation for you, along with a work flow which should give you the proper output. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Gracias, Lisa! 1] Add the following fields with the indicated definitions to the attribute table of the data to be converted. cadType, Text field, length 32, populated with the word "Insert". RefName, Text field, length 255, populated with the name of the BLOCK from the Autocad seed file. 2] Add fields to the attribute table, defined as Text fields, with appropriate lengths, with names that match the TAG names from the block in the seed file to be used when converting the data with export to cad. This name is case-sensitive. These field names must match exactly the names of the TAGs attached to the BLOCK definition in the Autocad seed file. 3] The attribute fields, such as HEIGHT, must then be populated with appropriate values, using the field calculator in ArcMap. If the field is left blank, the TAG will not be created for the block in the output Autocad file. 4] Running export to cad on the feature class, each feature became a block in the DWG and the values for each tag are editable in AutoCAD with the ATTEDIT command. http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesk...001r000000.htm

Hola Winn, I am including a work flow for you, which you will not need to do any programming in ArcPad. This will allow you to Categories your data in ArcMap by a unique field. Then you will be able to check the data out for ArcPad, and then you will be able to collect new feature and they will reflect the proper marker and color. My one suggestion with this work flow is to keep the symbol markers simple to properly reflect in ArcPad from ArcMap on the check out. Please let us know if you have any further questions or comments. Gracias, Winn! Work flow: 1. In ArcMap categories your data by the field you want to change as you add a new feature and change the symbol marker 2. Then check your data out for disconnect editing upon current extent 3. Move your project to the device 4. Collect a new feature and populate the unique value field in ArcPad, you will then see how the marker will reflect the correct symbol and color

Hola Randall, In reviewing your questions on the ArcPad side. As you can see below from the ArcPad Help documentation I have provide you with, this will only record as point features into a shapefile. Please let us know if you have any further questions or comments. Gracias, Randall! The GPS Tracklog The GPS Tracklog in ArcPad is stored in a shapefile format. The GPS Tracklog can be started or activated when the GPS is active. ArcPad automatically records each GPS position it receives as a point feature in the GPS Tracklog shapefile, as long as the GPS Tracklog is running and the GPS is active. http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcpad/10.0/help/index.html#//00s100000100000000

Hola Noam, I would agree with this, where a new .mxd, re-adding the data set's, and then re-checking the data back out. This sometimes resolves the issue, where ArcMap will crash when checking data out. Gracias, Noam!

Hola Darrick, In looking into this within ArcMap, I don't see any options to change the font size of the annotation layer. Unless you want to symply convert this into a Annotation Feature Class inside of a geodatabase. This would be the only method to alter the data or display in this fashion, outside of this the Annotation isn't possible to display it's font size within ArcMap. Gracias, Darrick!

Hola Rachel, I wanted to make sure I had understood your recent post. You are able to directly add a .pmf into ArcMap or drag and drop it into ArcMap, and then save it as a .mxd. I was asking because I just tested this work flow in 10.0.5 & 10.1, and I am not able to add directly a .pmf file (unsupported data format). If I attempt to drag and drop the .pmf file directly into ArcMap, I receive an error, so if you would please let us know your work flow. Gracias, Rachel!

Hola Shana, I am including some documentation for you, which includes a work flow to enabling attachments, adding attachments and viewing them. I hope this documentation covers all your needs and questions, if not please let us know. Gracias, Shana! Hola Elizabeth, I would suggest a few items to try to see if we can troubleshoot what you are seeing, when ArcMap crashes in attempting to check out data. If these items do not help the crash below, and you are current on your maintenance, please log a Support webform to work with a ArcPad Support Specialist. I would be glad to work with you on this further, to see if we can come up with a resolution on this issue. Gracias, Elizabeth! Suggestion: 1. Install ArcMap 10.0.5 latest service pack for ArcMap http://support.esri.com/en/downloads/patches-servicepacks/view/productid/17/metaid/1876 2. Install the latest version of ArcPad 10.0.4, from Esri Customer Care Portal 3. https://customers.esri.com/index.cfm?event=login.show 4. If you are able to isolate the feature class, then run a Check and Repair Geometry on the feature class Check Geometry (Data Management) http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//001700000034000000 Repair Geometry (Data Management) http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/Repair_Geometry/00170000003v000000/ 5. If this does not resolve the issue, I would suggest turning off a few fields from within the dataset, and then see if your data will check out. Once you isolate the field causing the issue, you can then re-create it and if data resides inside. Then you can create a new field and use the field calculation option, to copy over all the attributes. In looking into this further with one of our Development Technical Leads, we thought this would also assist you. Also as another suggestion on this, you run Editor > Validate Features prior to attempting ArcPad check out to see if any specific feature(s) is causing ArcMap to crash. They should also check the checkbox to Validate feature classes before checking out in Select Output Options display of Get Data For ArcPad tool. When checked, the geodatabase layers and features selected for check-out will be validated before checking out. The validation process will stop at the first occurrence of invalid data and report the invalid data. The invalid data should be corrected, and the check-out process runs again (with the validate option checked) until no invalid data is reported. All invalid data will need to be corrected in order to check out the layer. The validation occurs in the following sequence: 1. Validate any subtypes. 2. Validate any attribute rules (such as domains). 3. Validate any network connectivity rules. 4. Validate any relationship rules. 5. Perform any custom validation (using optional class extensions). ArcPad requires that all data be valid according to the defined domains. Although the validation process takes some time for larger datasets, it is highly recommended that you validate your data when using Get Data For ArcPad for the first time. This will detect and report any invalid data and provide you with an opportunity to correct the data. Support Service 1-888-377-4575 http://support.esri.com/en/webform/s...275/chat/false

Hola Charlie, If you are looking for a method or option to display primary, secondary, Interstates etc. as seen within Google Map but within ArcMap. I would suggest using the Esri, Transportation, etc. Symbol Palettes, to have them assigned to these road features. This will give you the looks as you??ve seen within Google Maps as an option, or possibly look into Representation. Please let us know if you have any further questions, on this or other items. Gracias, Charlie!

Hola Ed, I would say these two products are not related, unless you upgraded your ArcMap since installing Business Analyst. If this was done, then the order of installation was broken, and you will need to simply uninstall/re-install ArcPad. It also sounds like you may have somehow deactivated the extension within ArcMap, so all you would need to do within ArcMap??s Customize>Extensions activate your ArcPad Data Manager. This should allow you to now check data out and back in from ArcPad, from within ArcMap. If you still see this issue and you are current with your maintenance, please log a Support webform and I would be glad to work with you on this issue. Gracias, Ed! Hola Yaron, Within a particular mxd, and you export to any of our suggested formats. ArcMap will send the data from that mxd to an exported format, it should not send out the previous mxd to an exported format. I would suggest renaming your ESRI folder in the registry, and if this does not work. Please log a Support webform and add my name, please make sure your maintenance is current and I would be happy to work with you on this issue seen. I am including the work flow for my suggestion, and I look forward in hearing from you on this issue. Gracias, Yaron! Suggestion: Navigate to Start > Run, type regedit and click OK. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER> Software > right-click on Esri and select rename to ESRI_old. Close the Registry Editor. Support Service 1-888-377-4575 http://support.esri.com/en/webform/s...275/chat/false
