Hola Kyle, I would have to agree with Hannah above, we would need a bit more information to be able to properly assist you with this question. I am though including a screen shot of the attribute table, reflecting the properties of the ??Comments? field for your review of Riverside.mxd. In reviewing this mxd, hopefully this will assist you in setting up your field within ArcMap in the same manner, and this will reflect within ArcPad. Gracias, Kyle!

Hola, I would suggest making sure that both ArcPad and GPS Analyst extension are activated within ArcMap. Then I would suggest using the GPS Analyst Toolbar within ArcMap to check data out your data, then within the toolbar you will be able to use the GNSS option within it to check the data back in. One last item I would also suggest, is to verify the personal geodatabase is GPS Enabled within ArcCatalog within the properties of the personal geodatabase. Gracias!

Hola Ted, In looking into this within ArcReader 10.1, these options have not yet been added into ArcReader 10.1. This could be something to come out within the next service pack or version of ArcReader. Gracias, Ted!

Hola Lillian, In looking into this for you, AutoCAD products that are version 2013 are not yet supported, but will be at future releases. AutoDesk products allow users to save data back to previous versions. ArcGIS Desktop 10.1 supports AutoCAD file types through version 2012. AutoCAD Map, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Land Desktop create features with their ObjectARX extension. Object data are not supported in Esri software. Tools are avilable for data conversion in both ArcGIS Desktop and with the Data Interoperability Extenson. http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/extensions/datainteroperability Gracias, Lillian! Hola Ivan, If you would like, upload a small dataset of your file geodatabase in a file geodatabase and I will test it for you. Once I have some results, I will reply with the results for you. Provide me a detailed work flow, on how you are walking through this to create your pmf file and I will test it for you. Gracias, Ivan!

Hola James, In looking into this for you, out of the box ArcReader cannot be customized for add-ins/toolbar. I was though able to locate the following items of information, which may assist in using an ArcReader Template. Gracias, James! Customizing ArcReader The ArcReader application can't be customized and extended in the same way as other ArcGIS for Desktop applications. While the ArcReader application is not customizable, custom ArcReader applications can be created using the ArcReaderControl. The ArcReader template file can also be used to enhance the use of ArcReader and custom ArcReader applications. Anyone with a Publisher license can create custom ArcReader applications to view, explore, and print published maps. Those with a Publisher license can also use the ArcReader Configuration Developer tool to modify the ArcReader template. The custom ArcReader application can be used by anyone who has the ArcReader application or ArcGIS Engine Runtime installed. http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#/Customizing_ArcReader/000s0000001q000000/ Creating an ArcReader template http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#/Creating_an_ArcReader_template/000s0000001s000000/ Starting ArcReader with a specific template http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#/Starting_ArcReader_with_a_specific_template/000s0000001t000000/

Hola Aniekan, I just tested this on our end, and I was able to see several of my data line up within 10.0.5/10.1.1. I would inspect the data bit further, maybe look to adding the same dataset??s to a new mxd and then re-creating the pmf again. I would also suggest maybe seeing if any other data does the same, which may drop on-top of each other. You are always welcome to log a webform with Support Services, with being current with your maintenance. Gracias, Aniekan! Hola Chris, With only having a Basic license level of ArcMap, you are limited to tools within ArcMap to perform this process. I would suggest looking at options like you are with, ETWizard, Xtools, or maybe some ArcScripts. In regard to the issue though you seem to be encountering, I would suggest maybe importing the shapefiles into a File Geodatabase and then running the Check & Repair Geometry on the parcels feature class. Then I would run them through one of software or items suggested (ETWizard, Xtools, or maybe some ArcScripts). Good Luck!! Gracias, Chris! Hola Alex, Yes, when I mentioned certified on my response. Yes, this means that it hasn??t been officially tested and nor officially certified yet. I reviewed the blog you added, and I would agree with this but regarding ArcPad 10.0.4. Where a few of us ArcPad Analyst have installed and worked with it within a Win8 OS and have not seen any issues. Gracias, Alex!

Hola Russell, No question is a dumb question; I would say this is a great question. In regards to your first question, ArcPad 10.0.4 will work with ArcMap 10.1/10.1.1. With ArcPad, it is not a compatibility question, since it is an individual object and with older version of ArcPad, you may not have all the options when used within a new version of ArcMap. Also, what we have seen is the extension and toolbar sometimes does not reflect but we have a technical article which addresses this issue. Problem: ArcPad Data Manager extension is not visible in ArcMap 10 http://support.esri.com/en/knowledgebase/techarticles/detail/38344 In regards to your second question on VB going away, in favor and being replaced with Python in its place. VB seems to be at the moment a valid and supported language for ArcPadStudio, along with Jscript but the model does reflect us moving to Python but not completely. At the moment we are using Python within our supported languages too. Gracias, Russell!

Hola feeneyaf, Currently ArcPad 10.0 has not been certified on Windows 8 OS, this could be something coming in the near future. Please refer to the System Requirements page, I am including for you and you will see Windows 8 OS is currently not within it. Gracias, feeneyaf! Hola Daniel, I would say out of the box at the moment, this is not a option. I would suggest maybe creating a polygon layer with it displaying a disclaimer at the top level layer within the .pdf file. Then you can turn this layer off, and they can proceed from their but this option is currently not available. Gracias, Daniel!

Hola Dongke, I understand exactly what you are seeing and would like to have the hatching of the polygons within ArcMap. Within CAD the polygons are typically reflected as hatching and most of the time not true polygons. The question I would need to ask first, if the hatching within ArcMap are represented as true polygons? If they are then all you would need to do is within the properties>symbology tab you can click the symbol and then assign a fill which would reflect a true hatching of your choice. If this does not reflect as a true polygon within ArcMap, then you will need to create one within ArcMap in an edit session, and then apply the fill to reflect as a hatch. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Gracias, Dongke!

Hola David, If you add your data with different spatial reference system, ArcMap will project this on-the-fly and properly display. When you create your pmf file, this will carry over and be seen within ArcReader when you open the pmf file. Gracias, David!

Hola Ivan, Within my testing in a 10 & 10.1 environment, I was able to set up domains with code as numbers. Within the description was populated with the necessary information, I then created a pmf file and identified the features. The information for my new field which I had applies domains against seemed to return with the description information of the domain and not a number of the code. If you would like to work together through this issue you are seeing, and are current on your maintenance. Please log a webform and I would be happy to work with you in more detail. Gracias, Ivan!
