Hello everyone, I have a form with two select_one fields where the value is an integer value with a text label. Even with saving the result from the select_one field as an integer value to a calculate field it will not be recognized as an integer value. When I try to calculate the average of the choices, it gives me just some weird numbers. It works though if I use an integer question to save the value from the select_one question as integer. But this looks awful (and stupid) in my form, I would rather hide this step if somehow possible.

Hi James, Is there an update on the recalculation issue discussed before? I am running into the same problem that I need to calculate Standard Deviations from samples. I tried to use the same approach as Elisabetta but facing the same problem regarding the recalculation of the mean value... It would be great if there would be a calculate button for all repeats (at once) for example or to have a calculate field that would force all fields to update the calculation. Any workaround suggestion? I am expecting to have 50 samples or more in one survey so recalculating each manually would be very awful... Thanks!

I found a solution that is in Beta 😉 I can create the survey as polygon feature class and hand over the parcel as geoshape, and then overlay the parcels with the survey results in the map. Tataa! Now hoping to have this capability released soon...

What a pity. Unfortunately the Survey layer is dynamic so we would have to calculate it again every time a survey was submitted... Not very userfriendly 😞 Any other idea how my parcel could reflect that the survey for this parcel was done? Both layers are quite dynamic...

Thanks a lot Xander! Great approach. I don't seem to be able to use that new expression field for the symbology, is that correct? When I look in the table the field does not show yes or no but only "show" as a link. Is there a way I can "force" the value to be populated?

I have a parcel layer and a point layer with surveys coming from Survey123. I would like to do the symbology of the parcel layer based on the surveys that have been filled. Both layers have the attribute UPI in common. So mainly the arcade expression should check if the UPI exists in the survey layer and if yes then return "yes". In Python I would use something like "if UPI exist in survey then update field survey_done for the row of that UPI parcel layer with yes". Then I could use the expression result to color my parcels accordingly. How can I do this in Arcade? (If possible) Thanks in advance!

I found a quick solution which is not yet perfect but should work for now: I created a select_one field for the time with the names 1-20, and the labels 4am-5am, 5am-6am, etc. This field I defined to calculate "once(count(${counter}))". While counter is a hidden field (thanks James Tedrick for that hint in another post) with the default value of 1. My time field I have now set to read only so the user cannot change the time slot. The only thing I would like to change now is the availability of the drop down menu for the time. I have set appearance to minimal to just see the selected time slot but the drop down is still showing although it is read only... but that's more cosmetical...

Hi folks, I am looking for a way to somehow label repeats. In my survey I need to ask for (almost) each hour of the day for certain activities (in total 4 questions). Now I thought, I could create a repeat for each of these hours and put inside the questions - that should work to my clients' convenience. But I would like to put the time of that hour (e.g. 8-9am, 9-10am, 10-11am, etc.) on each repeat so it is easier to know for which hour they have to answer the questions. Do you see a way how to do it? Or any other idea how I could create that kind of matrix? Ismael Chivite and James Tedrick, it is very annoying that the table-list appearance still does not work in the field app. I have 15 questions with the same answer schema under each other and it could save me so much space and it would also look so much better in a table look! 😞

I have seen posts about this message and why it is showing but not how I can just hide it. I have an editor web app, where only the editing of attributes is allowed. So I am (and the users are) aware that they cannot create new features. When I click on my edit button this message is hiding. Can I somehow tell my app to hide this message from the beginning? Thanks in advance!

What is the sense then of creating a turn feature class if I cannot create the turns? Also, I managed to add the turns in ArcMap 10.6 but they are not recognized. No error when building the model but when doing the routing it is still turning in the wrong places. This is how it looks in ArcMap: Any idea what i could be doing wrong?

Yes, that what I was trying to to. I created a new turn feature class. I add turns by adding "links" between one edge and another, one vertex on the first edge, one vertex on the second edge. But neither are attributes filled nor does it seem to recognize them. When I build the network with my turn feature class added, I get that error "Cannot find at junction". I was trying to follow these instructions here Creating a turn feature—Help | ArcGIS Desktop but it didn't work the way I expected. EDIT: In ArcGIS Desktop 10.6 I can add the turns and the attributes are filled but they are not respected. No error when building the network...

So if I need restrictions I would have to add them already in the network I create the template from? at the bottom Network attributes—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop is that what you did to enable the access to the properties and the Travel Attributes? Yes, exactly. The options menu on the restrictions tab is all greyed out.

I am using global turns in my network dataset. I don't find help anywhere how to tell my network that it is not allowed to turn at certain junctions. I would think the easiest would be to remove the junctions but this option does not seem to be available as the layer is not editable. I tried to add a turn feature class but when building the network it completes with the warning "Cannot find at junction."(which does not even sound like proper English to me but that's only on the side...). So how I am supposed to create a turn to tell the network that it is not supposed to turn? For now I created straight lines on those roads from where you are not allowed to turn anywhere but do I need to fill in the attributes by hand?! (other cases include junctions where you are not allowed to turn left or right, how would I define those?) Thanks in advance!

After finding out that I cannot create a new network dataset from scratch in ArcPro (which is a real bummer!) I created one in ArcCatalog, created a template, and created a new dataset from this template (to simulate the workflow for customers of us). Now in the original network dataset I have the option that I can add restrictions but not in the one created from the template. Why is that and how can I solve this? The data structure is for both networks the same with a feature dataset of 5 road classes plus the junctions. EDIT: I played around a bit and added bus lines and bus stops to the network dataset and changed the group connectivity - and voilà: I have the options available. But maybe someone can tell me what exactly made me not having the options available before?
