And be able to accumulate selections, if features are in non-contiguous areas.

Same here. As a city, we for example; flush all 1800 hydrants...I would rather not create 18 different assignments to be able to complete the whole city, at 100 per assignment.

We save maintenance / inspection / services to a feature's related table. Please make it possible to point Workforce to that related table (GUID) so it can populate that table with a related record, not create a new feature service and add the record in it. This is basically the same idea posted earlier by GreggRoemhildt2: Related Workforce Idea

Craig, Workforce has one MAJOR downfall, related to related tables: As a city, we store all of our maintenance / inspection / service data in a feature's related table. It's more than frustrating that there is no way to point Workforce to save all of this assignment/maintenance/service data in the related tables. It just creates another feature service with all the data. We already have a feature service, which we used to create the assignments - by selecting the features. Why would we need another one?

As a medium-sized city, we store our inspections/maintenance/services to a feature's related table. I see in Workforce, that there is no way to point to store this inspection/maintenance data as a related record in the related table? It can only store this info in a new, separate feature service that Workforce creates? If this is the case, why would we need another feature service that is created by Workforce, when we already have one and because it creates another one, we would now have to update the records from that Workforce feature service to the related records table of 50 feature classes and do that every 10 minutes - to keep related tables up to date? It seems like Workforce doesn't allow a workflow for agencies that use related tables.....?

Is the only way an assignment can be created by selecting features is to use the lasso/select by rectangle tool? This can't be, can it? What if the multiple features I want to select aren't able to be selected by one rectangle? Maybe they are non-contiguous. There is no free-hand select tool that accumulates selections? This seems sort of elementary...

If an assignment is created and it has for example, flushing all the city hydrants. Are the field crews/workers able to select them all and mark them as completed/finished at once, or do they have to click on each one and mark them as finished? It seems while doing work, crews won't have their phones out constantly. So, wouldn't it make more sense to have crews select only the hydrants they were able to finish that day and close those out with some sort of bulk action? Closing out 100 hydrants individually takes way more time, than if a worker can select 100 hydrants and close them out with one click...

Any update on this? I have heard via ESRI that this is in the works for AGOL? Enhancement ID: ENH-000131175 Synopsis: Provide a widget that enables batch adding related records. Status: In product plan.

Any updates to this? I see in no ESRI software, app, viewer or anything, that I can add a related record to multiple features. Wouldn't ESRI want to "up" their asset management abilities with this feature?

If what the OP was talking about was actually adding an inspection/service to all the the poles that didn't need work, this would be a related record and couldn't be done as ESRI has no solution for adding a related record to multiple features selected.

It would seem that the answer would be to select all the poles that were in good shape, and create one inspection that gets propagated to them all. But, this isn't possible....and I am not sure why ESRI doesn't have this capability.

Does Field Maps allow for selecting multiple features and adding the same inspection record to all? Or do you have to enter in one inspection / 'maintenance service' at a time? Example: Flushing 250 hydrants a day. Do I have crews enter in 250 separate flushing inspections/services or can they just select all 250 hydrants and add the same flushing inspection/service to them all, at once? This would be a huge time savings if Field Maps has this capability...? Batch related records tool?
