Hi @KBERG_EGLE This is behavior is by design. Originally, when planning for sidecars to be viewed in mobile devices, a decision was made to make all narrative text panels utilize a filled background. This was to compensate for the change in dimensions of the sidecar background media/map, which could overlap in a way that isn't noticeable when designing for desktop viewing and make the text unreadable. If this design isn't usable for you, and using sidecar over other story blocks is preferred, I would recommend submitting an idea on the ArcGIS Ideas page requesting the ability to customize the narrative panel transparency on mobile viewing. --Abby

Hi @applestapler , The default marker for ArcGIS StoryMaps guided tours is the circular icon. I think you may be using a Storymaps.com account, which uses the more squared default marker. The only way to change that icon in a map tour is by changing the layout. Your quick fix here is to either change the current map tour to an Explorer layout, or use an ArcGIS StoryMaps account (storymaps.arcgis.com). You could also add the idea for further map tour icon shape customization to the ArcGIS Ideas page for the request to add this functionality to Storymaps.com or ArcGIS StoryMaps in the future! --Abby

The Classic Story Conversion Helper, created by our team to help you transition your story content into ArcGIS StoryMaps, now supports stories created in classic Cascade templates! If you haven't yet, read over the general instructions and expectations for the conversion helper in this original blog post. Considerations Here are some caveats for using this convertor since adding support for Cascade templates: For title sections in Cascade stories, the script will bring over the title as an AGSM heading, and the image will be placed as a floated image underneath. Credits in Cascade will not convert. Colored text will not be preserved. Captions will only be converted for cascade stories, and not for Series stories. Alt text is converted for cascade stories (except for alt text within immersive blocks). The script will determine a light or dark theme for Cascade stories, and respectively apply the either the Summit or the Obsidian theme, regardless of the theme selection in the script. Videos in the cover for Cascade stories will not be migrated. Some hyperlinks may not transfer successfully. Map and media actions will not migrate from stories created with Journal or Series templates. This is not an official product, and hence not supported for troubleshooting by Esri Technical Support. With all the notes above, we highly encourage you to use this converter tool as a starting point for moving your stories to the ArcGIS StoryMaps story builder. Once you have run the converter, take some time to review the original and migrated content to see what formatting may not have made the switch. You can manually make edits to the story in the new builder to ensure the content is equivalent. Feedback Please give the converter a try here and let us know what you think! We appreciate any feedback, whether that be what is working well in the tool, or improvements you'd like to see to the converter for the future. Though we can not guarantee we will make significant alterations to the tool, we will consider making tweaks if they are highly suggested by the community. Try out the new Conversion Helper tool here: https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=bc35e93d5d374e1a9c3583be0cc9f1d7.

@DarylPilgrim I also wanted to follow up here and confirm if you are using a classic template like Cascade or Series, or a story made in ArcGIS StoryMaps? I had missed your original reference to an Explorer tour, which sounds like you may be in the ArcGIS StoryMaps builder. If that is the case, the URL formatting you're looking for is not yet supported in the ArcGIS StoryMaps builder. The article you sent is referencing workflows supported in the classic templates. We are looking at adding this URL parameter capability down the line. I'll make sure to update this post if and when that functionality is implemented in the ArcGIS StoryMaps builder. Apologies for the initial confusion! Please let me know if you are in fact using a classic story template. --Abby

Hi @DarylPilgrim , Could you send the format of the URL you are getting errors on? Also, what error are you getting when the link fails? As a note, I would make sure you also include the &embed before the &index. --Abby

Hi @DalilahOsakoda , I'm sorry you're experiencing this issue. I'd recommend starting with taking a look at this blog post and seeing if the steps included can help recover your story. If this story is public and has already been published once, are you able to load the published story? --Abby

Hi @andreoudi , Thanks for sending over those examples. I can confirm I am also not able to see the issue with the test pop ups and stories you created. How many section links do you have in your test story versus your original story? Additionally, how many sidecars do you have in comparison? This may be a good case to bring to Esri Technical Support. They will be able to do some more in depth troubleshooting with you to get a reproducible workflow that we could then use to document and resolve a defect if one exists. --Abby

Hi @andreoudi , I haven't been able to test with your story, as it is not public. I was also trying to reproduce this on my end, but was unable to do so. Would you be able to send a screenshot of the general configuration of the Experience Builder app and sidecar? I may be mimicking the formatting of the apps differently than you are, so I'm unable to see the behavior you're describing. --Abby

Hi @Ankitkhanna, A table feature allowing you to create tables within the story builder is currently in the works, and should be coming to StoryMaps soon! For now, your best option to add in a table would be to include a high quality image of a screenshotted table built outside of StoryMaps. I'd also recommend checking out this post from @OwenGeo on the ability to embed tables in your story, which may be preferable if your table will be reflecting live or frequently edited data. --Abby

Hi @TheresaAlex Switching from ArcGIS Enterprise to ArcGIS Online is not an upgrade, but more of a migration. Depending on your team's needs, it would likely be more desirable to upgrade within ArcGIS Enterprise to a newer version (the most current version out at the moment is 11.1). Google Analytics can be enabled for ArcGIS StoryMaps at ArcGIS Enterprise versions 10.9 and later. Check out this post on how to enable the analytics. I would chat with your administrator and see what viable options you have within ArcGIS Enterprise for upgrading to have more available features (like the ones in the feature comparison matrix) in ArcGIS StoryMaps for your team. --Abby

Hi @TheresaAlex , You should be able to see these updates in your ArcGIS Storymaps, regardless of whether or not you are an administrator. Can you confirm you are a part of an ArcGIS Online organization, and not using an ArcGIS Enterprise deployment? If your team is using ArcGIS Enterprise, you would not see all features at your version that you would see in the general ArcGIS StoryMaps release notes. For example, adding an Image gallery was only added to ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 and later. Take a look at this documentation for a list of some of the major ArcGIS StoryMaps features at each ArcGIS Enterprise version: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-storymaps/reference/arcgis-storymaps-on-arcgis-enterprise-feature-comparison.htm --Abby

Hi @andreoudi, Would you be able to send a link to the story where you are seeing this issue so we can see the behavior when the web map is within the story? Is the web map you are removing using the same data as the other web map, and is this web map within the sidecar? Or is it a standalone web map? --Abby

Hi @giannisfaraslis At the moment, only point data is supported in creating a map tour. However, if you add point data to your 3D map tour and use the guided tour layout, you can then add progress lines to connect those points. If you have more detailed lines to show in your vector data, another option would be using the Sidecar layout and adding that same map in multiple slides. You can then change the extent and focus of each slide so it moves between where you want to focus on your route. --Abby

Hi @RebekahPolette At the moment, you can only change the color of the Map tour icon. If you are looking to use your own point style, and would like a layout similar to Map tour, I would recommend using the Sidecar Docked layout, and adding your map here. The icons will reflect their style from your ArcGIS Organization. If changing a map tour icon is a customization you would like to see added in the future, I would recommend adding a post to the ArcGIS StoryMaps Ideas page to request this functionality get added to the product in a future release. --Abby

Hi @BethAnnWinebarger , I like the workaround you chose! The white bar I can see at the bottom when I view your stories is very thin, and I have to try to scroll to hit it. I didn't notice it until you pointed out the drawback. Typically, embedding any other items into a Collection can get tricky with sizing, since that content will not be resized with any iframe height and width you place in the embed link. If sizing on your collection mobile embeds is something you'd like more customization over in the future, I would recommend posting on the ArcGIS Ideas page to request that functionality in the product. --Abby
