Hi @FredDeNisco , I believe the heading option is not appearing because the heading you are referring to is actually a title of a point in your map tour. They are similar but are not technically headings; if they were, it would cause complications in navigation. When turning on the navigation links in the story's design, for example, you would then have a navigation link at the top of your story for every map tour point! A workaround for this if you really want the heading link, would be to use sidecars instead of map tours. You just wouldn't have those points on the map numbered automatically as they are in a map tour layout. However, you could still configure a map to jump from focusing on a different extents/points for each slide. This idea of adding headings within map tours has also been requested by other Esri Community users. Please feel free to add a Kudo to this similar idea to the ArcGIS StoryMaps Ideas board if you want to see this enhancement to the product down the line!

Hi @RyanWeichelt & @SaraJL , I'm sorry you're having this publishing issue. I would recommend working with Esri Technical Support , as they can provide additional troubleshooting of your web traffic and which resources may not be successfully saving. @SaraJL , if your any of your stories that have seen this issue have already been published publicly, feel free to message me with the item ID or link to the story and I can see if there is any information I can discern from the published item details. --Abby

Hi @Smith_Mike , I hope you're well! I'm glad this post found you and helped a bit with building your expressions! If I am thinking this through correctly, The problem here is that the text formatting will be coming from HTML- there isn't a way to add this formatting with Arcade. I can think of how to work around this in the pop-ups, by adding formatting to items outside of the concatenation, then combining the italicized feature and the concatenated features in a text expression: The only way I could think this possible when running the calculation through the fields would be to add the italics on the field items that you are looking to italicize (in your case, the Genus botanical field) before running the concatenation in the field used for the calculation. The italics will come through in the calculation: Let me know if this sounds feasible to you, and I'll let you know if I think of any other potential solutions. --Abby

Hi @OliviaHarrison , I'm seeing the story load successfully in Edge, as well as in Chrome and Firefox. Could you first try to clear your Edge browser cache and see if that makes any difference for you? --Abby

Hi @SimonLaughton , ArcGIS StoryMaps has been previously evaluated against WCAG 2.0 and 2.1. The product will soon be in the review process for the latest WCAG version (2.2). Here is more general information on ArcGIS StoryMaps accessibility standards: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-storymaps/reference/accessibility-and-supported-languages.htm --Abby

Hi @tmo , In the story you shared, it looks like they are using a collection (the item type is actually mentioned in the URL). In a collection, you can add different ArcGIS items, including stories, so they appear as their own pages within the navigation. Here's some information on utilizing collections, but you can start making your own from your ArcGIS StoryMaps home page, using the Collections tab. ArcGIS StoryMaps - Create your first collection ArcGIS StoryMaps - Change collection layout and navigation Additionally, the creation of regular web maps shouldn't cost you credits, and won't cost credits to add those web maps to a story or collection. There are some credit usage costs for storing certain feature layers. For more information on what will cost credits, I'd recommend taking a look at this page: ArcGIS Online - Understand credits Let me know if you have further questions on this configuration! --Abby

Hi @RyanWeichelt , I'm sorry you're experiencing this saving issue. Can you share what those errors are that are showing up when you are trying to publish? I want to see if they are related to the saving issue. There is also a known issue with saving after pasting bulleted content from Google Docs into a story. Though it may not be appearing in the story now, I also wanted to check that you hadn't recently added Google Docs bulleted text via paste? Esri Community- Pasted bulleted text from Google Docs disappears Thanks for any information you can provide! -Abby

Hi @BrittanyBurson , If your StoryMaps is publicly shared, feel free to send the link and we can take a look! It could be many things, but Owen mentioned permissions above because if it is only the map not appearing, it may be shared at a different access level than the rest of the story's content. If this started happening after an upgrade, there may be something else going on with the configuration after migrating that content to a new version. I will note that the discussion above was for the ArcGIS StoryMaps builder. Were you all using that builder, or a classic Map Tour template? I know ArcGIS Enterprise had both available at version 10.8.1. --Abby

Hi @StewardshipAssistant , Would you be able to provide the link to the story that was seeing the issue in mobile, so we could take a look and see the behavior on our end? If not, a quick recording of the behavior could also help. --Abby

@LEKrauser , This behavior is actually due to the Google Sheets that follows right after (Copy of Bridging the Gap). Can you try removing that one table, and see if the navigation issue resolves itself? The correct way to format and add this URL would be to utilize the URL from the File>Share>Publish to web button. When adding that URL, the story should no longer jump when reaching the embedded content. Let me know if this workaround works for you! --Abby

Hi @LEKrauser , I'm sorry you're experiencing this issue! Can you send a screen recording of this behavior, or a link to a public story displaying this behavior? If you can't do this, it would also be helpful to send the item you are embedding. This is could be occurring due to a pop up or specific item within the embedded content that is trying affect the navigation of the story. Is this behavior happening with any item you're embedding, or only with this specific embedded content? --Abby

Hi @JGVadnais1 , This is the current expected behavior for placing the initial extent of the map tour. This will also happen with the default basemap options in a map tour. The extent is calculated off the collection of points added to the tour, and will factor in the desired zoom level if it is set using the Custom initial zoom level dropdown, which you showed in your video. You can also set the zoom level for the individual points throughout the map tour when adding the locations: I do understand wanting to add a specific extent for that initial zoom. Trying to tweak it a bit with the different initial zoom extents after adding all the expected locations can help a bit. If you need a highly specific extent, you can always use the map block (adding a map to the story instead of a map tour), or use an express map in a sidecar. You can also make a suggestion to allow the custom extent setting in a map tour on the ArcGIS StoryMaps Ideas page, and it may be considered as an addition to the product in the future. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions on the context above. --Abby

@ErnstKarel , On the ArcGIS StoryMaps side, there is not a preferred size over the other - as long as the 50 MB maximum file size is not hit. Technically, the 44.1kHz file should be slightly smaller in size. There are some interesting perspectives on which sample rate you may want to pick based on the type of audio you are collecting, but this would be more of a personal preference as to which sample rate to utilize. Here are a couple articles (not Esri specific) I found: Resound Sound - What sample rate and bit depth should I use? . Pro Tools Production - 44.1khz vs 48khz Audio - Which Is Better? --Abby

Hi @HelenCooper Here's some documentation noting this expected workflow: "If you have added, removed, or renamed layers in a map, the map must be removed from the story and added again to view the changes." - ArcGIS StoryMaps - Add maps However, as this post notes, you should be able to edit the name of that layer in the StoryMap map's legend by clicking the layer name in the map designer layer list to alter that layer's name. I understand this can be a bit tedious if you are also changing the layer's name outside of the story, but this will at least save you time with having to remove and re-add the map to the story builder. --Abby

Hi @MichaelAgbozo Yes, you can save the basemap changes in the web map and your map element within your story should reflect that change. --Abby
