Hi @JaePage , I'm sorry you're experiencing this! Are you seeing this with any of your other stories in your account at the minute? I'm currently unable to reproduce the issue, but I'm curious if this is the first time you've encountered it, or if it's happening across your account. --Abby

Hi @CW-GIS , This is not currently a feature that is built into the StoryMaps Text element. The closest to grabbing the data would be via pop-ups using arcade expressions within a web map that is then brought into the story in an immersive element, like a sidecar or map tour (check out these blog posts for more information on how to set this up 1 , 2 ). The extent of the specific slide or point in the immersive element could be limited to that specific point, and the pop-up could be left open by turning on "Keep pop-up open" in the story's map options, and additionally docked with the "Docked pop-up option". Another option I can think of, is adding a map action button in an immersive narrative panel to allow the map content to either jump to a particular pop-up that has the arcade expression configured, or to an embed of another piece of content, like a dashboard, that is showing the live update of the data. Ultimately, though, these are workarounds for not being able to update the actual text within a paragraph with Arcade. If this is something you'd like to see us address in the future of our product, I'd recommend adding your kudos to the existing idea asking for this enhancement. --Abby

Hi @KWarnell and @SarahHurley1 , This is something we are actively investigating. There has been a change to our embed provider's Tableau embedding behavior that we are working with the provider to resolve. For now, utilizing an iframe when embedding should still allow a live embed. Here's an example of successful iframe formatting and parameters: "<iframe src="https://public.tableau.com/views/VGContest_InteractiveFiscalCalendar_ShinichiroMurakami/FYCalendar?:language=en-US&:sid=&:display_count=n&:origin=viz_share_link&publish=yes&:showVizHome=no "></iframe>" We are seeing some issues with the height and width settings of the Tableau embeds, so let us know if you run into an issue with seeing the full dimensions of your embed. --Abby

Hi @CrystalVanKooten , To make some styling changes to the Bulletin featured theme, you should be able to do the following: 1. Head to the list of featured themes in the Design panel and favorite the Bulletin theme. 2. Go to your Themes page, and the My Favorites tab should show the Bulletin theme. Click the ... Quick actions menu for the Bulletin theme and choose Duplicate. This way, you'll be able to start with a copy of the Bulletin theme and make any theme customizations you wish. In terms of the dropdown headers, this isn't something currently possible with our navigation settings, or with HTML customization. If you created these in another app, you could embed that app within the story, but the embedded content would not take up the entire page. You could also create headers within a collection that uses the tabbed navigation, so you'd then see nested headers: If you'd like customization past this, I would recommend posting the request for the enhancement on the ArcGIS StoryMaps Ideas page. Lastly, the ability to customize the end of the URL is not an option built into our story builder, but there are a few ways you can customize or shorten that URL using other third party tools or embedding - ArcGIS StoryMaps Blog - Customizing your StoryMap’s URL Let me know of any follow up questions you have on this information! --Abby

Hi @YelenaCummings , Just providing another update here that the StoryMaps team is currently in contact with a third-party embed provider that supports adding script embeds, regarding the loss of ability to embed live Tableau workbooks into our product. So far we've found that there was a Tableau update that was recently integrated that may have caused this behavior, and not a change within StoryMaps. We are still actively investigating and troubleshooting this issue and will let you know of any updates or workarounds when we receive them. --Abby

Hi @QuinnMChavez , You can set a web map with feature layers as a basemap in a map tour, and the feature layers will be visible, but the pop ups are disabled within the map tour. This is to avoid confusion and navigation issues between the map tour points and the basemap's features. If you want to see this as a feature down the line, I would recommend posting in the ArcGIS StoryMaps Ideas page requesting this enhancement. Another option may be to create a sidecar that adds the web map, which can include the pop ups. You could then add media actions in the narrative panel to zoom to certain parts of the map, or open a new map; you could configure a second web map to add here that included both the "basemap" with pop ups and the new points within it. This workaround would take a bit more configuration, but could give you a similar effect to the map tour layout and navigation! --Abby

Hi @Lvivcenter , I'm sorry you're experiencing this issue. Is there any content getting added to these stories since the last successful publishes that is the same between all the stories, like a web map or large image? Are you able to create and publish a story from scratch? Just looking to narrow down if this is occurring for you across the board, or only with specific content included. --Abby

Hi @WaltherLie , You are only able to filter those layers by time in ArcGIS Online, and not within the story and map actions itself. While duplicating that map and making different time maps for each of those copies could work in the story for a map action, you should know there is a limitation of layers recommended within a map. Having more than ten layers within a map, and introducing too many maps with a high number of layers, can cause loading issues. It may be a solution you want to try out with a few of the time stamps, and evaluate the performance of the story as you go to ensure your story can load as expected with a high level of data. Here's more on the recommendations for maps within a story: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-storymaps/get-started/faq.htm#anchor11 --Abby

Hello @KathrynHailes , the color of that line between the header and story is not something that is customizable. If you don't want the line to appear at all, your only option at the minute would be to remove the header completely, which you can accomplish by appending ?header=false to your published story. If the customization of the line between the header and story is something you want to see in the story design settings, I'd recommend posting on the ArcGIS StoryMaps Ideas page to request the enhancement from the StoryMaps team. --Abby

Hi @HannahHicks, Can you clarify which parts of the map aren't showing up? Is it specifically the legends themselves that aren't displaying as expected? I'd make sure you are making all of these changes in the Map options within StoryMaps (Not in the Map Viewer in your ArcGIS Organization), and hitting the Save button in the bottom corner after adjusting the map appearance. I know it has been a few days since you posted this question, have there been any changes in behavior? Please feel free to post any screenshots here to further explain your issue. Thanks! --Abby

@ErinMaehr , the size of the express map is not something you can find as you can with regular web maps. Because of this, instead you can evaluate based off what you've included in the express map, for example, if you've included lots of image pop-ups. Are you receiving any particular error when you aren't able to publish? Are you able to duplicate the story and attempt to publish the duplicated story? Feel free to send over a sample story or any error messages you're receiving on your end. --Abby

Hi @ArielLow2146 , We were able to discern the origin of the issue, and it's actually coming from the way the arcade expression is checking for the locale. The if (locale == 'es') is only successful if locale is set and the culture is not set. We do set the culture for correctly formatting our widgets. Instead, we can use an expression that is satisfied with just the locale setting: Left(Lower(locale), 2) == 'es' Let me know if using a variation of this expression works for you: var env = GetEnvironment();
var locale = env['locale'];
var popupText = $feature.Text_EN;
if (Left(Lower(locale), 2) == 'es') {
popupText = $feature.Text_ES;
}
return {
type : 'text',
text : `Locale: ${locale}<br /><br />Translated Popup Text: ${popupText}`

Hi @PeterBarber , this isn't a feature built into StoryMaps, but we have seen people embed 360º images into their stories. To do this in an immersive element similar a map tour, you could use a sidecar element, create a map, and add those 360º images into a feature layer's data. This blog post does a good job of explaining that process: How to create an ArcGIS Online map with 360° images . The other option is to simply embed 360º images in your story, if you don't need your user to be focusing on a map when viewing the images. @PeterKnoop put together a story of different places you can add 360º images, and a few examples of different sites where you can create and host those images. 360º Images and 3D Models in StoryMaps . Let me know if these workflows provide a possible solution for you! --Abby

Hi @claudielucky , I do think trying to create a brand new story may be a good next step. A note that dragging content blocks between two stories/browser tabs won't transfer your content; you'll need to manually create that block in the new story. At the minute, we aren't seeing all stories failing to duplicate on our end. If you try to create a new story with minimal content and are still unable to duplicate, I would recommend reaching out to Esri Technical Support. They'd be able to assist in additional troubleshooting and obtaining more information on your specific workflow and reproducibility steps. We don't want your duplication failing across all stories in your account or organization! --Abby

Hi @claudielucky , I'm sorry you're experiencing this. Can you share a bit more about on what stories you are getting this error? Is this happening on both published and draft stories, or is this happening with other content types (like collections, themes, or briefings)? Thanks for any information on your workflow that you can provide! --Abby
