@MarioReyes3, what kind of application is embedded? That disableSplashFocus parameter will only work with Web AppBuilder apps. I do believe if you add this same scene by adding it via the Map element within ArcGIS StoryMaps, you won't see this jump when loading. But I do see you've also got some formatting on the scene that may be set through a custom app? Let me know, Abby

Hi @elpinguino , This is not something that can be currently turned on in the map/map tour options. for mobile map tours. I'd recommend adding this idea to the ArcGIS StoryMaps Ideas page so it can be considered as a potential enhancement to the product! --Abby

In an attempt to resolve a Tableau sizing issue found when embedding Tableau dashboards in stories, our third party embed provider has disabled the ability to embed new Tableau items. We recognize this is an unexpected shift in functionality, and apologize for any effect this may have on your current content. This is a change across all partners utilizing this embed provider, including ArcGIS StoryMaps. We recommend you do not edit or delete and re-add current Tableau dashboards that are already in your stories, briefings, and collections until this sizing issue is resolved and the Tableau functionality is enabled again. If you have already edited a Tableau dashboard, or need to embed a new one, we recommend you add a screenshot of the dashboard as an image and provide a hyperlink in the caption to so readers can open the full version in a new tab while this issue is investigated. We will continue to add to this post with any updates we receive on Tableau's integration and expected embed behavior. September 19, 2024 update: We've been working with our third party embed provider, and have been able to allow more appropriate sizing for Tableau embeds that are added as inline embeds. Feel free to try out the embed with a test block/story. Compare the old embed to the new one and decide if you want to update the embed to use the new sizing before replacing the old embed. If you edit your existing embed and don't like the new formatting, you won't be able to revert to the previous formatting. Immersive embeds are still experiencing this sizing issue for Tableau embeds. We are still collaborating with our third party embed provider to improve the formatting of these embeds, but for now we still recommend you do not edit or delete and re-add current Tableau dashboards that are within immersive blocks. We'll continue to update here with any changes to expected behavior as we receive them.

Hi @KimLersch1 , You can highlight text and open the text editor dropdown to choose the Bulleted list format. You can also type "-" and then a space to create a bullet with the shortcut. Are you on an ArcGIS Enterprise organization? There is a chance you're on an earlier/beta release of the briefings that doesn't have the bulleted functionality. --Abby

@ÅsaBlomberg There will be a couple clues if your story is in the classic format: - The URL may include one of the classic template names (i.e. /Shortlist, /MapSeries, /Journal, /Cascade, /MapTour, /Swipe, /StoryMapBasic). However, if your organization has self hosted this application on their own web server, there is a chance this URL has changed. - If the story includes share links, the icons may look similar to this shape and format if they are in a classic story: If you still aren't sure, feel free to send a screenshot or link to these stories and I can help discern if these are classic stories, or ones built in the new builder. --Abby

Hi @IsaiahPlovnick , there isn't a way to copy those tour points from one tour to another. If it's likely these points will all be used in a single tour again, it may be helpful to add all the points from these tours into a single feature layer in your organization to avoid having to move lots of individual points down the line. Then, you'd be able to create the tour using the From a feature layer option. You can also request adding the ability to move points in between tours on the ArcGIS StoryMaps Ideas page for future consideration in the product. --Abby

Hi @LeahBowyer , I'm testing and am able to see the honored pop-up settings for my web map in the story, like changing visible pop-up fields. Are you using the Map Viewer or Map Viewer Classic? Can you give another example of the configuration you're setting in the pop-up so I can try to reproduce the behavior? --Abby

Hi @Cary_Chadwick , for a campus walking tour, I'd actually recommend taking a look at this collection of other campus walking tours that have been created for inspiration: https://storymaps.arcgis.com/collections/c66f04f1b1584a04b1650e4076232ff6 Some of these choose to give images and lots of description to each point on the walking tour, so the reader doesn't need to be looking at their moving dot as their main indicator of where they should be. You could also leave a note before the map tour to remind walkers to click the location icon to update their location as they walk if they ever get lost. Another option outside of the ArcGIS StoryMaps realm would be to use another Esri app, Field Maps. You could create a map in ArcGIS Online with the points of your walking tour, and add the map to a field maps application. This could also be embedded within a story if you want to stick with ArcGIS StoryMaps and need the reader's live dot to be constantly updating. Hope this helps! --Abby

@Simrishamnskommun , Thanks for your question! At the minute, the only way to get the current location to update is to click the Current location icon on the map to refresh the tracking. If you'd like the team to consider adding an ability to enable a live tracker on the reader's current location, consider posting this idea to the ArcGIS StoryMaps Ideas page to request the enhancement. --Abby

ArcGIS StoryMaps now supports closed captions for videos! This new capability helps members of your audience with low or impaired hearing and improves the accessibility of your content. How to add closed captions Upload a video to your story or briefing. Once the video is uploaded, open the Video options. In the Accessibility tab, click the Upload closed captions button. Choose the corresponding .vtt file for the uploaded video from the file picker. Click Save in the Video options window. The closed captions have been added to the video player! Expected support Some things to note about this feature: You can provide captions via a WebVTT file for uploaded videos. If you are using videos from a 3rd party service, like Vimeo or YouTube, you may be able to add captions through that service. Any added closed captions are on by default on the videos until the reader turns off the closed captions. Videos uploaded directly to collections do not support adding closed captions. Captions are not currently supported for cover videos. Please let us know in the comments if you would like this to be added in the future and how you would use it. Closed captions file formatting ArcGIS StoryMaps supports WebVTT (Visual Text Track) files to be uploaded for closed captions. This text document outlines the text narrations and descriptions, and the times throughout the video they should be displayed. The WebVTT files must be created externally and then uploaded for each video that requires captions. This file must be created for the specific video file it is referencing, as the content within the closed caption file will not be checked against the video for which it is uploaded. WebVTT files must adhere to the standard format defined by the W3C here: W3C: WebVTT: The Web Video Text Tracks Format. If you upload a WebVTT file and captions do not work as expected please verify the validity and formatting of the file. Styling Closed caption text Through CSS additions to your WebVTT file, closed captions can use certain styling like bolding text, underlining, or changing the positioning of the caption within the video. Check out the WebVTT creation tutorials/tricks section below for more information on how to take advantage of these formatting techniques. External resources If you don’t already have a WebVTT closed caption file for your desired video, there are many places to create and validate them! Here are some options for other locations on the web to support your .vtt file creation/validation process: WebVTT support documentation .VTT file requirements - W3C Candidate Recommendation The official documentation regarding the formatting of a successfully parsed WebVTT file WebVTT creation tutorials/tricks Web Video Text Tracks Format (WebVTT) - mdn web docs This page walks through the individual lines of the WebVTT file, the caption (also called cue) creation, and the basic styling options of the lines. Hi @InformationResources1 , We don't allow image gallery hyperlinks to be opened in the same tab. This is something we are looking to add in the future as an enhancement. I'd recommend adding your Kudos to this existing Ideas post to show your interest in the addition of that functionality. For your specific example, I haven't heard of people using their story heading links as the image hyperlinks, cool idea! The other place I know where you can currently add a link within the story is the button. If you add a header link from the same story, it will scroll down to that point in the story. I know that isn't connected to the images itself, though. Additionally, you can add header links in the image captions. At the moment, you can only caption the image gallery itself, but we are planning on allowing individual captions to images within the gallery in the coming months. I can let you know here when that feature is released! --Abby

Hi @JaePage , I just recreated your story with the same text and could reproduce the issue. However, when I shortened the paragraphs in the slideshow (under Key Texts in Legal Geography section) I was able to make the extra space at the bottom of the story go away. Are you able to shorten those paragraphs, or move them into multiple slides (part 1 and part 2 of each book recommendation), particularly for the book, The Spatial, the Legal and the Pragmatics of World-Making: Nomospheric Investigations? Let me know if this works for you, Abby
