Hi Cameron, As Ryan mentioned above, the software will let you create routes with routeIDs that have existed in the past. There are some additional checks built into the software to prevent situations like creating a route with a routeID that current existing in the same time range and other scenarios that would break uniqueness for each route in any given time period. If you're interested in putting together some additional checks beyond the basic scenarios that software prevents, I'd recommend looking into authoring some data reviewer checks to prevent any type of scenarios that your business rules wouldn't support. Hi Colin, Has the version the lock was acquired in been deleted from the geodatabase? Hello, If you're creating/adding your own calibration points via the Append tool, I would suggest verifying the following attributes are correct and match the routes they're located on: RouteID, From Date, To Date. You also want to ensure the measure values are populated and will result in the route being strictly increasing in measures. If you're not able to get your calibration points to work correctly on some routes, you could look at the Generate Calibration Points geoprocessing tool to create calibration points on those routes. Hi Kevin, For any floating point number in a database (such as a double field type used for measures in Roads and Highways), the number of significant digits stored is going to often be 10 or more. All operations in Roads and Highways (including the route editing operations) utilize the M tolerance to do the calculations and the precision to determine how many decimals to display in tools such as Identify Routes. There isn't any need to make the database changes you're discussing above as the software is designed to leverage the M tolerance to do calculations already. Even though 8 digits are stored, only 7 are used during calculations within Roads and Highways (the 7th digit is used to determine whether to round up or down for the 6th digit for display purposes). -Nathan ArcGIS Roads and Highways product team
