This is from the help documentation: If the data doesn't reside on the GIS server machine and you specified a local account as the ArcGIS Server account, you will first need to create an identical local account (having the same user name and password) on the machine that hosts your data. Then grant that local account read (and optionally write) access to the folders containing your data. As long as the local accounts on the machine with data and the GIS server machine are identical, the GIS server machine will be able to access the data. You can read more about it here. Steven

It still isn't working for me. It actually has never worked even before all the new updates. It still takes me back to the arcgis open portal main page. It only works if I disable SSL only security. Steven

Our ArcGIS Online site is set up to allow SSL only security. I can't preview a private site if it is set up this way. I turned it off and was able to preview my site. Is this a known issue or a possible bug? Where do you track all current issues? Thanks, Steven

Have you checked out this sample? Go down to the html and change LINE/POLYLINE/etc to CIRCLE. <button data-dojo-type="dijit.form.Button" onclick="app.tb.activate(esri.toolbars.Draw.CIRCLE);app.map.hideZoomSlider();">Line</button> This will allow you to draw a circle and apply a buffer. Steven

Hmm, I wasn't able to preview a private site before last week. Strange. Hopefully this will be fixed shortly. Steven

I have the same issue. If you make your site public, it will preview correctly. Steven

What was the number you were trying to enter? Refer to this article for information regarding data types. Also is there a domain set on that field to where the value has to be within a specific range other than what's listed in that article? Steven

Right click on the 😧 drive folder, select properties, Sharing, advanced sharing and share it. Once you do that you should be able to register the folder with server and then see if you still get the original error. Make note of the share name. It will probably be the drive letter in your case d. \\Jamal-hp\d\Practical1_Administrators\Data Steven

My Local Disk didn't have a name. It just defaults to Local Disk, Give it a name without spaces and try it. It shouldn't affect anything stored on it. Make sure that arcgis has proper security controls in the folder as well. \\Jamal-hp\MyDrive\Practical1_Administrators\Data

\\Jamal-hp\local disk\Practical1_Administrators\Data I suspect this doesn't work because of the space between local and disk. This would be the correct path. Can you rename the drive to just localdisk? Note: I am not sure what effect if any this will have on other programs that use that file path such as Jamal-hp\local disk\Program files.... Steven

I take it this is JavaScript? You may have better luck moving the question to the correct language. In short answer, yes you can use the identifytask with a search function. You actually don't even need a map to use the findtask (search). Here are 3 examples of the findtask Steven

I forgot to answer my own question. I put in an ESRI ticket for this one because I didn't get a response on the forums and this is what they said Esri Maps for SharePoint 3.0.1 requires that you have either an ArcGIS Online organization account or a named user in Portal for ArcGIS. This is true for run mode or edit mode in the Esri Maps Web Part. Thanks for replying to remind me! Steven

You would need to do a domain to table (geodatabase table) conversion and open the table inside arcmap. Once opened you can export the table as text Steven
