@Oiligriv it sounds like this differs than the issue being discussed in this post. Can you please provide the exact error message that WebGISDR is returning? Ideally in debug mode (set in logback.xml in webgisdr folder directory). Thank you

@Oiligriv , Go to https://portal.domain:7443/arcgis/portaladmin/machines/<machine name>, what is listed as the Admin URL? If it's https://portal.domain:7443/arcgis/portaladmin, then that's the issue (should not have "/portaladmin", should end in just "/arcgis") and follow the instructions in this comment to fix it: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-enterprise-portal/webgisdr-backup-fails-with-quot-failed-to-generate-token-for/m-p/1044253/highlight/true#M10771

How do you suppress the map viewer beta pop-up so it doesn't appear? I know this only shows once on a cleared cache, but we want to suppress this completely using Portal 10.8.1.

Hey @JonathanQuinn , Tested further this morning with Esri Support, and after installing the Home Application + Enterprise Sites 3 patch, simply updating the C:\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file to include an entry with Portal machine IP + machine shortname was not enough - this did not change the machine name in the Portaladmin Machines API page to the shortname (thus admin url was still incorrect). What we had to do instead was change the hostname in the C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Portal\framework\etc\hostname.properties file to the short name which did successfully update the machine name to the shortname in the Machines API page (removed entry in etc\hosts prior). Esri Support mentioned if this hostname.properties file exists, it supersedes the etc\hosts entry, is that correct? This hostname.properties file already existed with the FQDN.

Dan, I'm working with Esri Support on this and they said the Home Application patch was intended to fix this, but it didn't. The fix was looped into the Enterprise Sites 3 patch, but wasn't indicated in the patch details. Unfortunately, the Enterprise Sites 3 patch did not resolve the issue for us, so we're continuing to troubleshoot with Esri. I'll hopefully close the loop on this thread once resolved.

Thanks @JonathanQuinn ! We tried your suggestion, however, after adding a line in the etc\hosts file with the IP of the Portal machine and the Portal shortname, it does not update the machine name from the Portaladmin end-point (Still shows FQDN, not shortname). And of course this means the Admin URL of the machine still points to https://fqdn:7443/arcgis/portaladmin. We noticed when pinging the machine via shortname, it was resolving to IPv6, but we updated this using the steps below so it prefered IPv4 instead, but this still did not work for us. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/networking/configure-ipv6-in-windows Let me know if you have any other suggestions to fix that Admin URL and thanks a bunch for all your help so far!

Hi @JonathanQuinn We're also hitting this exact issue at 10.8.1, but our Portal hostname has never changed. This is currently a HA Portal and the primary Portal admin URL shows as :7443/arcgis/portaladmin, while the standby shows as :7443/arcgis (checking from webadaptor.domain/webadaptor/portaladmin/machines page). Is there any *supported* way to update the admin URL for our primary machine and remove the /portaladmin reference?

Hey @Henry , Yeah "current_date" was just a particular reserved field name that we were using, but there's obviously a lot more than that. If you're using the latest version of Survey123 Connect there should be a sheet in there with the list of reserved field names, and if you're savvy enough with Excel, you can probably do some type of lookup function. It's funny you bring this up because I just published a new survey earlier this week with the field name "current_date" (guess i completely forgot about this post) and it automatically changed it to "_current_date". This was publishing from Connect v. 3.11.123 to Portal 10.8.1.

To help anyone else seeing this error, we got the same 500 "Dataset not found" error with the latest version of Survey123 Connect (3.11.123) and publishing to Portal 10.8.1. We found the XLSX had a reserved field name - "current_date". The XLSX does spit back an error when adding a field with a reserved name, so I understand this maybe a tough ask to classify this as a bug, but possibly the error messaging could be improved? Thanks! @JamesTedrick

While not the actual solution mentioned here, Bruce was able to help us rebuild the fds file using a sample schema KML file originally used as the input. Thanks a whole bunch Bruce!

Hello, We're unsure of when this issue started, but we are no longer able to import a custom format file (*.fds) to a Data Interoperability connection within ArcCatalog 10.8.1. The workflow we use is: Open ArcCatalog and ensure Data Interop extension is assigned Interoperability Connections folder > Format drop-down > More Formats Import custom .fds file Looks successful, but does not show up in list of custom formats in the FME Reader Gallery window This is causing an issue where the associated *.fdl file is not previewing any data (geography or attributes). Again, we're not sure exactly what changed which caused this issue or when exactly it started, but we've been using this custom format file for many years without any issue. Since it appears to add the custom format successfully, are there any additional logging we should review to figure out what is failing?

Thanks for the response Colin! Unfortunately the survey was shared to the group through the Collaboration > Share Survey tab as well. As stated, they have no issues opening or accessing the survey via the survey URL, this is a question about why they don't have the link button to the survey on the thumbnail found on the My Surveys page. Thanks again!

Hello, We are using the browser version of Survey123 in conjunction with our Portal for ArcGIS 10.6.1. When a survey has a particular group selected for the setting "Who can view results of this survey?" (Collaborate > Share results), the survey now appears for other group members in the main My Surveys page of the website. However, only the survey owner and administrators of the Portal can see the "Open the survey" link button on the survey thumbnail. Is this expected behavior? Ideally we’d like for non-owners of the survey to be able to open the browser version of the survey by clicking on the link button from the My Surveys page instead of continually copy/pasting the URL. Thank you, Eric

Hello, We recently upgraded our Enterprise environment to 10.8.1 and are looking forward to taking advantage of the GroupMigrationManager tools within the ArcGIS API for Python. However, the documentation linked above is lacking. I am unsure what the proper syntax would be to export and then import the group content EPK file. The following seems to work: gis = GIS(PORTALURL,USERNAME,PASSWORD) grp = gis.groups.get("<GROUPID>") grpmgr = arcgis.gis.GroupMigrationManager(grp) grpcnt = grpmgr.create() This creates a new folder in my Content called "exports" and has an EPK item. However, there is no way to download this file through the UI. When I use the following to try and load this into a different 10.8.1 Portal, I get the error following: gis = GIS(PORTALURL2,USERNAME,PASSWORD) grp = gis.groups.get("<GROUPID>") grpmgr = arcgis.gis.GroupMigrationManager(grp) grpcnt = grpmgr.load(epk_file=grpcnt) Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\AdminScripts\GroupMigration.py", line 9, in <module> grpcnt = grpmgr.load(epk_item=grpcnt) File "C:\....\__init__.py", line 1305, in load assert isinstance(epk_item, Item) AssertionError Can anyone please help explain what the proper syntax is to export and then import these EPK files? I wish the documentation provided better examples. Thank you in advance.
